GenerateNewUsername · 09/10/2025 18:41

I don't know about anyone else but I find I struggle to think of gift ideas for myself (I have bday just after xmas so I get double trouble).

I've always found these threads quite helpful in sharing what others are getting for inspiration. I hope to maybe get a couple of these things if I'm lucky...

almost everyone here listing 5-10 things they want for Xmas, why so many? What is the point in so many things?

As I pointed out in my post, I’m a single mum. These are the things I’d love to have. I will buy two things to make sure I have something to open on Christmas Day. What would you like for Christmas? Do you celebrate?

Pigtailsandall · 10/10/2025 19:12

Ooo this is much better than the kids' present thread 😁

I'd like some decadent Belgian chocolates
Really good bottle of gin
Cashmere gloves or mittens
Some good wool socks (like Falke) in bright colours
Some higher-end skincare stuff
Leather card holder
A voucher for a massage
A pottery class (I've never been but hello middle age)

I'm 43.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 10/10/2025 19:14

It’s my 60th this year so what I want for Christmas depends on what I get for my big birthday. Hoping for a theatre voucher, a stunning Joe Brown teal velvet jacket, a gold & amber ring, posh boxed chocolates, AF Christmas pudding liqueur ( bought a bottle last year & it’s absolutely gorgeous), a fluffy hooded dressing gown ( mine isn’t very old but I’ve lost over 4 stone since it was bought to go into hospital & it now swamps me!) & at least one more musical snowglobe as I love them.

FurForksSake · 10/10/2025 19:17

@Pigtailsandall I had a ceramics taster session some years ago. I now have my own wheel and I’m working on a kiln. I just lit a votive in a candle holder I made myself and yesterday shoved some of my bathroom plants into pots I made.

I love pottery, it makes me soul happy. I take mud and I make a thing. While I’m throwing I can’t be doing anything else, it’s almost meditation.

Do it!

What I (45 yrs) want for Christmas...What's on your list?
elQuintoConyo · 10/10/2025 19:36

Waterproof Bluetooth speaker (if they exist? I haven't looked yet) I like music in the shower.

Weighted vest for exercising.

Baseball hat.

Wedding rings (we were burgled :/ )

Dark chocolate anything (80% or higher)

Slinky undies.

Lego galaxy.

Book of hiking trails in the Pyrenees.

Book on the Camino Santiago routes.

Compass.

I don't usually have any ideas! I may buy half of it myself, or with money sent to me (I'm abroad, I get bank transfers in lieu of gifts).
Kids are getting older, so their lists are shorter but more expensive!
DH has an empty list, as usual. I may just tie a ribbon round my boobs and gift him what he got last year, and the year before that......

Figgygal · 10/10/2025 19:38

A new pair of gumbies for summer
A gelert outdoor robe

orangetriangle · 10/10/2025 20:00

searchforthesun · 10/10/2025 20:38

@doihaveacase M&S do thin strap vest tops with support. They are really soft. I’m a size 8/10 32E and the 12 fits me.

NormasArse · 10/10/2025 20:41

A break somewhere in January. We always buy each other a little holiday.

JellyRains · 10/10/2025 20:49

@BarryKentPoet your list is my list, I love them all!

I just wanted to say I received the Oodie dressing gown a week ago and I am OBSESSED with it. It is the softest, snuggliest thing I have ever owned. I’m never taking it off. And I love the cuffed wrists so much.

bouncydog · 10/10/2025 20:54

All I would like is to live enough years to see my adorable granddaughter grow up and have a happy life together with “bean” who is due in March. Very fortunate to be able to have a comfortable retirement and be enjoying our life.

JellyRains · 10/10/2025 20:59

I’m 40 in Jan so double gifts!

I’d like:

-new pics for the frames above our bed
-Pandora charms and a new bracelet
-T-shirts and a hoody from Broken Society
-fleece from Lucy and Yak, ideally leopard print (I have one, it’s too big)
-gorgeous candles. I love them
-diamond art canvas kits

mismomary · 10/10/2025 21:01

What I (45 yrs) want for Christmas...What's on your list?
Gymbunny2025 · 10/10/2025 21:32

Apple watch
boden dress
gym gear- sports bras, sweat towel, Pilates socks
JM candle
running vest
laura Ashley lounge wear set

age 40

OohThatCat · 10/10/2025 21:32

I have a weird tradition where I buy myself a gift each year, doesn’t really matter what anyone else gets me, I just buy something I really really love that’s a little bit expensive but that I really love, just for me. My husband and I don’t bother getting each other gifts. Pretty much always it’s jewellery, I’ve got my eye on an 18th century mourning ring and told myself if it’s still available to buy online at Christmas, I’ll get it for myself. Last year I bought a beautiful secondhand 1940s ring.

Age 43, the age I have only just been able to start affording the above!

otherwise;

Sweets, because I never allow myself to buy those, definitely a chocolate orange has to be on there, pick n mix would be the dream

A bunch of Lego flowers to go in a funky vase I’ve had for ages

Tea from Bird and Blend

Ellaone · 10/10/2025 21:33

I love this thread done great ideas!
id love a really opulent dressing gown and the tuti fruiti and/or scorpion jumper by slow love

caringcarer · 10/10/2025 21:40

All I want for Xmas is for my adult DS and DH to make up their quarrel. It means we won't all have early Xmas together now. In other years I have done early Xmas for my DD, Sil and 2 DS's, 2 adult DS's and 2 foster sone. Now this year I don't think I'm going to do it because one adult DS and DH are not on speaking terms and it will clearly create an atmosphere. All I want is for them to put aside their differences but DH won't budge. The fault was with adult DS originally but DH should be the bigger person and forgive but he won't. I'm really dreading Xmas and wondering if it might be better to try to book a lastonutevholiday do I can avoid it.
