…any suggestions for a good, leakproof, preferably pretty one, that keeps hot drinks hot?

Thanks, anybody!

I think Stanley cups are still the 'in' brand at the moment? Expensive but I have a few colleagues who worship theirs

The gift section of a big Waterstones usually sell pretty travel cups

I have had a Contigo mug for around 10 years.
It never leaks (unless user error)
The black paint has completely stripped off in dishwasher but lid still seals and works, and just looks stainless steel now so still happy with it.

I would definitely recommend this brand.
Has taken knocks and is a bit dented (think of those old Sigg metal water bottles from the 90s!)

This is the link for the model I have.

Contigo work, nice colours, I love my liberty print Chillys travel mug. Keeps my drinks hot (or cold) for hours if needed.

This one from Joseph Joseph is superb. I’m a teacher. I make a drink at 7:20, throw it in my work bag and finish it at about 9:30, 10:00. still warm and lovely!

We have several Contigo mugs; they work! That said, my last one had a different lid, which I don’t like. As others have mentioned, putting the cup bit in a dishwasher causes the paint to peel after 25+ washes.

I bought DD a Ninja Thirsti for Xmas and she’s happily taken it off to Uni with her. It has a 5 year guarantee (comes in 2 sizes and several colours).

Contigos can be used 1-handed.

We’ve put fizzy drinks in both.

Forgottenmyphone · 04/10/2025 13:46

Chilly’s has a collection of very pretty travel mugs. They’re pricey but they’re very very good quality.

WrittenThatWay · 04/10/2025 13:56

How old is DD? Is the brand going to be particularly important? Chillies and SHO do some nice ones that come in different colours/prints shoreusable.com/products/sho-pacto?variant=51647967789434

Werp · 04/10/2025 13:58

Another vote for Contigo, only travel mug i’ve ever had that’s genuinely leakproof, would chuck it in a bag with phone with no worries.

TeenLifeMum · 04/10/2025 14:00

My sho one didn’t fit the car holder but I love my chillie ones - I have a liberty design one and an Emma Bridgewater hearts one. I have a little coffee cup obsession 🙈

hby9628 · 04/10/2025 14:02

Contigo are fab.
i got given a chillys liberty one for Xmas last year and it’s nice but it’s not as big as the contigo, I find it hard to twist open. I use it but contigo is better

luckylavender · 04/10/2025 14:03

Chillys

MedievalNun · 04/10/2025 14:04

I have a couple of the Nitro brand travel mugs from The Range. They come in different sizes and patterns.

They really keep things hot / cold and are leakproof. The only thing with them is the lack of a ‘seal’ - you have to take out the straw & twist the lid shut if you want to close it completely. But even my huge one (holds 1x big Starbucks + 1 regular + 1 espresso!) keeps the drink hot for over 7 hours - it only starts cooling as the coffee gets lower in the mug.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 04/10/2025 14:12

Contigo here too. It keeps drinks hot all day, I forgot I had it with me once and drank it when I got home again! Completely leak proof, you can have it upside down sloshing around and it won’t spill at all.

It is the Contigo West Loop I have.

sleighbellsring25 · 04/10/2025 14:13

Stanley aerolite

averythinline · 04/10/2025 14:23

Contigo with auto seal... The only one thats never leaked...last for years too

user5972308467 · 04/10/2025 14:25

We've got all the brands mentioned above - Yeti are my favourites though, they’re quite pricey though, ours were branded gifts from suppliers!

feathermucker · 04/10/2025 14:26

Contigo for sure

loubielou31 · 04/10/2025 14:27

I have an ancient, at least 10 years old, Contigo one, not pretty but bloody brilliant. My Dd's have Chillys bottles and cups, much prettier (like someone else I find the twist opener tricky) and the quality is equally good.

GloryFades · 04/10/2025 14:27

I have a Waterdrop one that is beautiful, doesn’t leak and if anything keeps drinks too hot (but not all day, I make it at home in the morning and drink it on the train 30mins later and it’s still piping. It is cold by lunch time though so depends what you want).

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 04/10/2025 14:27

Yeti. Stanley have been and gone

Flutterbees · 04/10/2025 14:28

Not sure if you get Frank Green where you are, but it’s a super popular range with the kids where I live. Get a matching water bottle and you’re good to go!

Cynic17 · 04/10/2025 14:42

I have had a Nespresso one for years, which keeps coffee hot and doesn't leak.
