The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Ive also come on to say thank you to the poster for recommending the rainbow gloves at a bargain price! Like @hugsandpugs mine have arrived today. I'm going to add a fancy hand cream and that's teacher Xmas gifts sorted, thank you!!

It was me who recommended them! So glad you’re happy with them I’m kicking myself that I didn’t order more! 😊

LancashireButterPie · 12/09/2025 12:21

My l'or espresso machine arrived today, it's brilliant.

I thought this whole thread was slightly unhinged?

Hi everyone, loving the thread and already picked up some bargains (GALT science set and beautiful bird book).

Would like to buy a fun card game for 7 and 13 year old and family to play…any recommendations please (we have various UNO packs).

Thanks

We love phase 10 but it’s not a quick game! However the rounds can be split over more than 1 day

PerformativeBewilderment · 12/09/2025 13:40

@Christmassylove We really enjoy El Bandido - it’s kind of a collaborative maze-building game to stop a jail break.

I can get the M&S beauty box for the 20% off, added it on the website rather than the app if that makes a difference.

On Beauty boxes, I ordered this for DD's birthday - i am amazed at how big it is. Almost all the products are full size! I got it for £30 but currently £35 but absolutely worth it in terms of product value.

My reluctant Haul order has arrived and I’m happy, only one item wasn’t what I expected, I bought some what I thought were jewellery clasps for my DDs jewellery sets but they are massive, far more suited to keyring sizes. But everything else hit the mark

1 x school socks - would only let me buy 1 pair but nice thick white knitted knee high socks

For Christmas
4 x note books
3 x Scetch books
Cracker fillers - pocket hugs, shaped paper clips, mini stamps
3 x cotton pad & bud holders
3 x misting bottles
2 packs of eyelash tweezers
manicure kit & eyeshadow brush set
wristbands
2 x blouses for me (pretty impressed actually)
4 x mini corduroy cosmetic bags
And finally some odds and ends, jewellery pliers, studs, paper clips, mini post it tags, satin hair bonnet, bottle cleaning brush, thick hair bobbles.

All for a grand total of £33!

Not really a bargain per se but did you know that Boots have a recycle scheme from which you can earn Boots points?

Boxtails have arrived. Very nice looking box. Not opening it to see what cocktails we have as it’s a gift and it’s sealed in a way you can’t open without spoiling it.

My order arrived today as well, I had a sneak peak as the seal peeled off easily without damaging box and stuck back down again 🍹

It was from a company called lovethelinks on not on the high street. Ordered a couple of days ago when they had free delivery on everything on site and the bracelet was reduced down from £9.95 to £1 😅

Edited

i ordered two as stocking fillers for DS2’s partner and DGS.
Brilliant value for £1! Such a fiddly job to thread all the little dogs’ bones beads, must have taken ages.
Delighted and thanks for the recommendation.

No problem 😊 I’ve got mine on and they are sturdy but comfy to wear too and the toggle stays in place!

Love little quirky finds like this 😍

The Essence Vault has BOGOF on everything today - https://www.theessencevault.co.uk/
Might make good stocking fillers or presents.

I've heard mixed things about them but for the price it's a cheap enough just to try them out. I just bought 3x 100ml perfumes plus the Discovery Set for £45.

@CatRash was there a code? It's not showing as BOGOF for me. I wonder if I have missed it?

BerfyTigot · 12/09/2025 16:42

Home Bargains had led make up mirrors for 7.99 earlier today. Im quite tempted for me!

Yes I think you've missed it unfortunately 😔 There was no code and lots of banners shouting about it. Not sure if it's something they do regularly?

fishfingersandchipsagain · 12/09/2025 17:43

Thompson & Morgan have free delivery at the moment, and a lot of their seeds are reduced, including the Kew Gardens ones that are in beautiful packaging.

Last year I got a few of these together with the Kew Garden’s wines from Laithwaites (with a referral code) and they made lovely presents.

I’ve only just started using this since August and have saved £42 of points already! They take SO much baby stuff (nappy wipe packets, nappy packets, formula scoops, formula lids, pouches etc)

keepincool · 12/09/2025 18:46

I don't know if it was on this thread, but big thanks to whoever recommended the candle warmer lamps from Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Candle-Warmer-Lamp-Dimmable-Timer/dp/B0F48NWHB9

I bought one for myself to see what it was like and it's lovely. I've just ordered 2 more, one for DSIL who makes wax melts, as it will also work for those. At £13.99 they are good value, can even just be used as little lamps on their own.
