The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Where was this from please?

It was from a company called lovethelinks on not on the high street. Ordered a couple of days ago when they had free delivery on everything on site and the bracelet was reduced down from £9.95 to £1 😅

The super cheap ones do specify on the page that they have a BB date of September, assume that is why they are on offer x

Edited

Ahhh thanks I didnt see rhat hit. Totally my fault then.

@Flubadubba this is such a brilliant recommendation - my DC is bird/animal mad but we haven’t got this so thank you very much. This thread is incredible x

Glad someone else thinks the same! DD is just turned 6 and lives this stuff...

H&M currently have 15% off online for members - there are sone cute small Teddy or rabbit bear furry storage baskets ther I thought could be a good gift for a newborn with say a muslin, wet wipes , baby shampoo or something in or perhaps for a little girl to keep hair bows and bobbles in , there are also furry bunny pencil case in beige or pink

Anyone considering the Turtle Doves offer, I’d check which incarnation of the company it is.

Relatively recently they moved production abroad and most of their items were no longer 100% cashmere. Perhaps the company was sold? Several people posted on these threads how disappointed they were with what they’d received, IIRC.

I don’t know what they are currently like. They might be OK again.

Those looking for recycled cashmere fingerless gloves could search for Tazzies gloves on ebay. I bought loads from her last year as someone tipped me off on these threads. A lot cheaper than turtle doves and some interesting combinations. Also you get the actual pair of gloves in the photo not just something from the blue selection etc. Quality is excellent and you are buying from a small UK business (like Turtle Doves used to be). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/376038589662?itmmeta=01K4SRC31G6DVN33RPWF0J1T6H&hash=item578da584de:g:t~gAAOSwi2xnxble&pfm=1

Tazzies Fluffy Grey Hand Made 100% Recycled Cashmere Fingerless Gloves 2383 | eBay UK

They are hand made so not 100% perfect. Super soft, lovely and warm and lightweight, would make a fantastic present. These are all hand sewn on the inside for a smoother finish. All hand stamped tissue, wrapped with "Handmade with love" labels.

Thanks for this - I added 2 different pairs to my basket from the same seller but was quoted £3.75 postage for each pair, so £7.50 postage in total, which put me off. I have asked the seller to clarify postage costs. Do you know if the seller posts items out individually or refunds postage if they are posted in one package?

Shufflebumnessie · 10/09/2025 14:05

@Londonmummy66 thanks for the recommendation. I bought Turtle Doves a few years ago & I wear them so much over the colder months. I was looking at buying another pair last year but just the images on the website made the products looks far inferior to what I already had, so I didn't buy any.
I'll be purchasing from the person you recommended as the gloves look very soft & well made.

I bought two pairs last year and paid postage twice and then I think the seller refunded one set of postage and it came in one parcel

Yes she will if you message her - did so for me last year. She's really helpful.

So far I'm failing miserably to keep up with these threads as usual lol.

Wanted to share a few bits I picked up today though....

Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm for £2.79 from Home Bargains.

Mens Marvel boxer shorts £3.50 also Home Bargains.

Harry Potter Haribo sweets £1.25 from Aldi.

I absolutely love the sanctuary spa Sleep Balm, it's such a lovely smell and would make a fab stocking filler.

I know a few people have asked about Lego, Sainsbury’s had a few boxes discounted. The best discount was £16 down from £20 so not massive savings

Got my Lego stitch today, thanks to the poster who spotted it! There were still loads in my Asda when I went to collect today. Absolutely brilliant bargain, half price. Now looking for the original Stitch Lego too- currently £39.99 on Amazon.

I also had to raise a charge back last year. It's put me off ordering this year, I don't want to take the risk that they won't deliver again. Such a shame because 2023 was great

Oh no! I've just ordered one! 🙄

Ewock · 10/09/2025 18:33

I've just received the Lor coffee machine. Thank you so much to the ppl who posted the offer. For £63.12 (random amount) I got the machine, with 100 capsules, a pack of 10 other capsules I wanted to try (bought because if I spent £2 more I got a free gift, which was then another pack of capsules.
When I opened it there was a tasting pack of 9 more capsules! So very happy with that.

I ordered 2023 and had one door that the contents had been opened, I did email them but they couldn't offer any help. It didn't put me off and I ordered 2024, infact I made 3 seperate orders. This was a problem because it confused them and they believed I only had 1 order. I showed them my Degusta account which had 3 orders, I also showed my order email confirmations, and bank transactions. They eventually sent the 2nd order but failed to send the third, and wouldn't respond. I had no choice but to notify my bank

It's also worth looking out for the Adrienne Barman books, Creaturepedia and Plantopedia. Plantopedia is 6.99 on Amazon at the moment. I think they are lovely and are some of the few books I plan to keep on my bookshelf in case a next generation arrives.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 10/09/2025 19:08

Christmas tea towels in my local B&M looked towelling from a distance but more microfibre up close. Apologies I can’t remember who was looking.
