OK, so you all went on a bloody posting frenzy!

Can someone add the countdown from today to make it easier tomorrow? Thanking you!

I'm sorry for causing you issues, Granny! Xmas Grin

I've even checked the date TGTG emailed about the Booths' bags last year so I know when to start checking for the bags!

Meeces, maybe I have enough bulbs then. I follow a Brummie gardener called Adam on Facebook and he said to put loads of bulbs in, as long as they don't touch each other or the sides! I'm waiting til the weather cools before putting them in the pots.

I saw a post about loads of ladybirds the other day and thought of you, Meeces!

Granny I've never really had an annual but I was looking at one for LO and for nephew for Christmas but they seem overpriced to me.

swamp I think a voucher is a good idea. I like the idea of tickets but no one knows my calendar etc like I do so would like to have a say on dates.

Fluffy I made the mistake of doing my bulbs a week or so ago. Bastard magpies have been on the pots and pulled some of them up so I need to re-do some 🙄

Dentist visit is over and I feel rubbish but work is busy. That isn't helping so I'm giving myself a little break and nosing on the Christmas board.

swampwitch0 · 09/10/2025 13:26

Sorry to hear about toothy woes @NoCheesesForUsMeeces☹️
Hope you feel better later x
Off to dds college showcase later...can't say I'm in the mood tbh 😬

swampwitch0 · 09/10/2025 13:28

Thanks, I think I'll do a voucher or get one printed from etsy ☺️

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/10/2025 22:10

We are starting our Traditional Annual Watch of "Whitechapel" Xmas Grin

swampwitch0 · 09/10/2025 22:19

We do a Lord-of-the-rings-a-thon every Christmas 🎄
The extended versions 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2025 23:45

We've been to get the Booths book. It's a thing of beauty!

I've looked through it a few times and amended my earlier order. I'm not getting huge amounts from there. Just a nice amount (including 72 pigs in blankets!). Xmas Grin

Wow Fluffy you are right, it is a thing of beauty. I have Booths book envy.

Day off today so I'm going to squeeze in 2 gym classes, supermarket shop, change the beds and towels, bag and take some stuff to charity shop and prep some stuff for weekend lunches.

The choc tubs in my local Sainsburys are £7!!!! Surely nobody will pay that? And I think they are smaller than last year.

That is an impressive effort there swamp , I preferred LotR 2 , more action /orcs killing things .
I'm sure I nodded off watching it ( cinema was dark) Xmas Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2025 07:04

@NoWordForFluffy

That is sooooo lovely and ency inspiring . There's another thread I saw yesterday about the Booths Book .

I can get the Boots Catalogue but it's not the same !

Tesco were a better price (£4.50 for Clubcard) and Asda . Sainsbury are totally taking the mic!
And yes . Smaller tubs .

I have washing on (bedding)
Going to get the Greggs Breakfast ( DD is WFH)
Charity Shop drop off
Boots and Next collection
Flu Jab
Tidy up

swampwitch0 · 10/10/2025 09:19

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I completely agree - The Two Towers is the best of the trilogy

swampwitch0 · 10/10/2025 09:20

I'm going for my shingles jab today, then the podiatrist, pick up mums meds, drop dd1 at the train station...
I barely slept last night so I'm feeling a bit rough 😞

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 10/10/2025 11:09

Morning. I seem to remember you sending me a Booths Christmas book once Fluffy and it was lovely.

Also not the same but I picked up an Argos gift guide a week ago and it’s become LO’s favourite thing which I’m enjoying watching (although he’s weird and enjoys looking at the beauty pages as much as the toys 😂)

Only thing I do an annual rewatch of are the Jamie Oliver Christmas shows. I know lots of people hate him but I love those shows and they allowed us to host Christmas dinner on a shoestring budget years ago so bring back some fun memories.

My day has gone a bit to pot. LO was sick overnight so no school today. DH has something on he couldn’t get out of so I’m trying to work around LO.
We’re both still in our PJs and I worked from bed until half hour ago while he intermittently slept next to me. Now I’m going to plonk him in front of tv, give him drinks and medicine and do my best to muddle through 🙄

swampwitch0 · 10/10/2025 11:48

So the pharmacy hadn't ordered the vaccine 😡
Sigh
Wasted journey

Ooh that;s annoying swamp ,,,,,,,,,,hopefully the Podiatrist was a better experience .

swampwitch0 · 10/10/2025 20:46

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
Yeah...all filed and moisturised ☺️
I'm really annoyed.
I even went in last week to confirm they had it.
Grr

Eurgh , I have the Post Flu Vac Achey Arm .

Our Female Cat sat on my shoulder during the night ( the injected side ) , purred at me loudly , then did that cute little swipe at my nose (she thinks it;s cute) with the Hint of Claw .

Little Swine .

Washing is on , I have coffee .

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 11/10/2025 07:47

Morning! I’m in the spare bed and have woken feeling festive. I think it helps that I managed just over 8 hours sleep (broken once but I’ll take it) so I’m watching Kirsties Handmade Christmas Xmas Smile

70 I hope the achy arm buggers off soon.

Plan for today includes my first visit of the year to the local Christmas shop (with a friend), food shopping, more online Christmas shopping and definitely some cross stitch this evening. And housework as it’s all a tip.

Fingers crossed LO is on the mend because he was never more than 2 inches away from me yesterday and there were tears over the most random things (me going to toilet, me offering a drink, him choosing a book then deciding it was the wrong one). It was a long day!

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 11/10/2025 10:25

Oh dear NoCheeses I remember those days. DS was a Velcro child especially when he was ill.
Today I'm at the gym, then shopping but just food and then I need to chop up a tree that has died.

swampwitch0 · 11/10/2025 10:39

Ah, yes. The Velcro child .
My older dd was like this. I always knew where she was because she never more than a few inches away from me ☺️
No plans for tiday other than laundry and wintering the summerhouse.
There's a nice chill to the air this morning - shame all I can hear is next door drilling 😐

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/10/2025 18:57

@NoCheesesForUsMeecesI hope your LO is feeling better. There's a thread in Classics about toddlers tantrumming about the most random things - it's where "Cutted up pear" comes from.

Sadly, I think the Cranberry and Clementine Bucks Fizz is no more 😭. I've visited a couple of M&S food halls this week and... nothing. I've checked Ocado too.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2025 19:19

@TheWoollybacksWife, I'm pretty sure it arrives a bit closer to Christmas. I'm going to have to check somewhere which may tell me! I hope it hasn't gone by the by.

Meeces, toddlers are bloody irrational, contrary, little buggers!

I've taken a Booths book and some bakery treats to mum and dad today. And then done a bit more gardening. Tomorrow it's fence painting. Exciting! 🤣

Checked. I was wrong. It normally arrives in Sept. 😭😭😭
