OK, so you all went on a bloody posting frenzy!

Can someone add the countdown from today to make it easier tomorrow? Thanking you!

Blimey, you sound like you really had a nasty bump.
Hope you feel better soon x

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/09/2025 19:26

Hope you feel better soon Fluffy. Hospital grade painkillers should help.

I don't watch many CCFs - die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie a must and we watch Elf as a family on Christmas Eve.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/09/2025 19:35

Oooh @NoWordForFluffy
Good call on the checking the damage , head injuries are not to be taken lightly .

Glad to hear nothing broken but the bruises'n'bumps will take a while .

Sooooo , 1st October tomorrow . Into Autumn Proper now .

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2025 19:42

Unfortunately for the contracting firm which made me go across a verge with a trip hazard on it, they're going to get sued by me! Sucks to trip a PI solicitor up and cause her to faceplant the ground.

I feel diabolical still, even though the painkillers are (mostly) doing their thing. Hopefully I'll improve by tomorrow. I think today was always going to be bad.

85 Morning and happy October 🎃

It’s my office day today so I’m waiting for my train. It’s a bit cold but quite nice.

Fluffy I’d be very worried if I was the firm you’re about to sue!
Hope you’re feeling at least a bit better today.

No major plans today. Office where I’ll skip a lunch break and use it to cover at least part of my travel home then more work and out for tea with my least festive friend later. I like to send her little Christmas countdown memes throughout the year just to see what eye roll ones she can find to send back <childish>

Tomorrow DH is out for tea and a few drinks so I’m planning to settle down to some good present planning/online shopping and a Christmas type film while he’s out Xmas Smile

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 01/10/2025 16:35

Hope you are feeling better today @NoWordForFluffy

Magnoliasunrise · 01/10/2025 17:36

Yes hope you're feeling better Fluffy

I've just bought my first 3 Christmas presents and ordered the OK beauty box advent calendar £99 but 15% off with Code Comeback15 and free delivery. Last years was really good so I'm hoping for great things.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/10/2025 18:49

I was wondering what PI solicitor was @NoWordForFluffy then figured "Personal Injury" (rather than Private Investigator like Magnum PI !...shows age )

The A&E report will outline your injuries too which will definitely add weight to your case (plus photos )

I'm picking up my advent calendar this weekend , I haven;t bought one for ages , that was a Holland&Barrett one . This one is Rituals

October now !
Time to start in earnest Xmas Grin

I plan to go to M&S and buy random pantry things like chutney .

swampwitch0 · 01/10/2025 21:23

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I haven't had sn advent calendar for a couple of years, but I decided to treat myself and I got the H&B one, too this year 🎄
I still feel shocking and have 2 really early mornings the next 2 days ☹️
I have SO much washing to tackle, too 😫
Dds bf is coming up this weekend so I'll supervise dh cook a roast on Sunday
I'm looking forward to half term...for the first time ever, dd gets 2 weeks 😀

Morning!

I was back at work yesterday, though that was a decision I regretted for a while as I felt 🤢🤢 for most of the morning.

I'm still rather sore. Weirdly, the bits which hurt most haven't had a bruise appear properly yet (face and right knee). The bruise on my right hand is reducing, thankfully. I looked like I was rotting! 🤣🤣

70, I could probably grow a 'tache to rival Magnum's, but I am very much personal injury I instruct somebody else to spy on claimants.

I am definitely beyond the 'bouncing when you fall' age. Though I'm quite proud of my bones, as none broke, despite the horrendous splatting noise as my face hit the floor. Go bones! 🦴

Oh @NoWordForFluffy that looks sore!
Very glad to hear no broken bones 🙌

HairsprayBabe · 02/10/2025 13:40

@NoWordForFluffy OUCH! Crikey that looks sore :(

I booked a christmassy thing - going on a girls trip to London at the start of December - looking at all the pretty lights, mooch round Harrods and we are going to see SIX - bought a new dress - very excited.

I'm the organiser in our friendship group - If I don't sort it it ain't happening!

I put the Hallowe'en straws in the glass dispenser on Wednesday , DS and DD use straws anyway so they might as well be seasonal

I have to find a blacker blazer this weekend (for me) should be easy enough in theory .........

Magnoliasunrise · 03/10/2025 06:57

I think SIX will be brilliant @HairsprayBabe I've listened to some of the songs and they're all really good.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget is the blazer for a special occasion or Halloween fancy dress? Like the idea of Halloween straws.

For the first year ever DH and I will be home alone on Halloween as DS will be away on 6th form trip and DD going to party so we'll be dishing out sweets on our own.

@NoWordForFluffy you're hand looks very sore. Hope all the bumps feeling better.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2025 07:21

Morning!

Still sore! The bits which hurt most haven't bruised yet. Looking forward to the massive bruise on my face (the eyebrow and chin bruises are going yellow now) when it decides to appear!

We have wet and wild weather forecast this weekend. We're trying to get washing done before it starts as much as possible!

We don't do Halloween here. So no handing of anything out to us. We turn lights off and hide! 🤣🤣

70, M&S for blazer buying?

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 03/10/2025 08:43

Morning! Wet and miserable here too. Perfect autumnal/festive weather as long as you don’t need to go anywhere!

Hairspray I’ve heard great things about Six.
And you’ve reminded me to make sure I book in a Christmas something with my friend when I see her on the weekend (she lives an hour away and a few years ago we switched from presents to spending the money doing something fancy together in December instead) Xmas Smile

Out Hallowe’ens were always like yours Fluffy, we just hid away but with LO now getting a bit excited about it I suppose we should do something.
I think he’s too small to properly trick or treat but we’re going to do the 4 or so neighbours that we know, possibly ILs house as they’re 2 mins away and will want to see him in his outfit then I may do a little Halloween tea thing for him, niece and nephew before they go trick or treating.
Although he specifically asked for bat costume, I got one and now he said he doesn’t like it because it’s scary and wants to be ‘bones’ aka a skeleton 🙄

swampwitch0 · 03/10/2025 13:52

I've ordered a few more Christmas gifts today 🎁
Earrings, books, perfume ..

It was wild here last night , heavy rain and windy , not Storm Amy levels but pretty rough ,
Looks calm for now .
I bought DS Winter bedding , his old set was donkeys years old .DD has her Winter bedding on Nov 1st (she doesn't do waiting Xmas Grin )

I can feel the preparation countdown starting , it was dark the last couple of mornings when I went to work . I had to put my lights on !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/10/2025 09:17

Although he specifically asked for bat costume, I got one and now he said he doesn’t like it because it’s scary and wants to be ‘bones’ aka a skeleton

Awww bless him.
There's tons of skeleton bones pyjamas and then you can do white face paint and black eyes , nose, teeth outline . (if he's ok with face paint )

I dressed my DS as the Grim Reaper one year then even after washing it off he had "guyliner" for a couple of days , (I used a Laura Geller eyeshadow and a wet brush to apply - it wasn't budging ! )

swampwitch0 · 04/10/2025 09:37

Well, dd2 (17) wants to a be a "slutty vampire" 🙄😬🤭

NoWordForFluffy · 04/10/2025 10:37

We have 70mph gusts here, coming off the coast, so it very wild indeed! Wet as well, which is pleasant.

Meeces, DS was like that with fancy dress. Good idea at the time, but not so much in practice!

I now have a cold to go with the cuts and bruises. It's a baaaaaad week!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/10/2025 11:24

The cold is your bodies way of telling you to Slow Down @NoWordForFluffy

(and deflect your attention away from your bruises - but when you look in the mirror at your bruised body and snotty nose and scrunched up little eyes you'll think My , what a catch Xmas Wink )

When DD was a teen , the thing with Hallowe'en Fancy Dress was an evil version of Alice (Malice) in Wonderland , Cinderella (Sinderella )
Type of thing

She did dress as a Zombie Schoolgirl one year , she was about 12/13 so too young to be a St Trinians , or a Scary Vampire

Magnoliasunrise · 04/10/2025 15:25

Its v windy here too although not storm Amy levels (DM had that up North). I managed to get nearly 2 loads dry but I fear some of it may have blown away 😂.

Got the M&S Christmas food mag but put it in the Christmas cupboard as it's too early to be looking now - I'll get it out after Halloween.

I think my DD (13) will want to be slutty vampire/cat/witch etc and I will be pulling the hem of the skirt lower or making her put some leggings and a coat on.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/10/2025 15:28

It's set to be dry until 11 here now. Might get DH to put our washing on the line when he gets back from his parents' house with the kids. I'd normally go, but I'm keeping my germs to myself.

I've got a shit Christmas film on the TV and I think I'll have a nap.

We 'tested' the heating for a couple of hours earlier, so it's dead cosy in here now. ☺️

swampwitch0 · 04/10/2025 17:20

Done 3 loads of washing, but they've gone in the dryer/on the heated airer.
