I was definitely cranky in the heat yesterday. It was 32° and it was miserable. I took my niece to the cinema in the afternoon - film was a treat for her and the air con was a treat for me!
Today has been much more manageable.

swamp I struggled to tie my wreath to my door when we moved in and figured a cable tie does the job perfectly - added bonus, it's pretty much theft proof as it's an absolute PITA to remove

It’s been 39/40 degrees in recent days where I live in SW France, but I put out my ceramic pumpkins the other day 😂 I’m definitely looking forward to even slightly cooler weather

Was expecting a hot day today but it feels so much cooler.

Got family coming to stay tomorrow so today I'll be sorting out bedding and towels while still wading through holiday washing. I'm actually tempted to neatly fold the holiday washing stick it back in the suitcases and deal with it in September 😂

It's not too bad here, though it's still a little warm for the dog during our morning run, as he obviously has his double layer furry coat on! Though as a woman of a certain age, I get bloody hot during the run too...the dripping sweat is grim. 🤢

At least it's good drying weather, Magnolia. Power through!!

Morning. We’ve had a random downpour here which has put paid to my plan to spend the morning painting the last few things in the garden (wooden chairs and table). I’m kind of glad as I hate painting but means I’ll be doing housework instead.

LO is in nursery today so am also planning to relax for an hour or so in peace this afternoon as the summer holidays have been a bit intense here with all of us together all the time I think DH is even missing work a bit as he’s voluntarily going in for a few hours today and tomorrow

magnolia Im with you on the holiday washing. I think I have maybe 2 loads of washing left altogether so it’ll be done today and tomorrow (limited drying space at the mo so one load per day max).

Also with you on the sweating Fluffy 😩 I kind of lost my temper with DH while we were away as it was hot anyway but I was in the shade with a fan on and he asked what’s wrong with me that I’m always complaining of feeling hot. I think my patience failed me and he got a bit of a rant about perimenopause, aging and <excuse the language> fucking hormones and warned to stop going on about it

Ooh also, I bought my first Christmas present yesterday. We went to a science museum thing and it randomly had some cool decorations in the shop so I picked up one for my dad’s traditional hamper. ILs thought it was bonkers to be buying a Christmas present in August but I’m just glad I’ve got started

Today, I have had a haircut (I get it cut when I’m home here, as Belgian hairdressers don’t listen to their clients and do a standard cut that doesn’t suit me). I am on my way to meet DH for lunch, then do another couple of jobs in the city before heading home to more decluttering. (3 bank jobs did sound like heists - but it was far more mundane sorting different things out).

I'm washing all the coverless duvets today.
Not much else happening as dh wfh and I need to pick my car up soon from its service.

Alevel results today and I have a happy child. Actually 2 happy children as one of DD1's pupils got an A*. Out for a celebration dinner tonight.
