Yes hoping for Yoto but not sure Amazon is the best place to find it; last year my two were too young for it and I skipped past all the info and now I’m trying to remember where the best deals are 😬

Yoto usually are best place to buy. But I’d wait till there’s an offer on. Though I do have discount codes.

What are people buying their 6 year old children this year, what's the 'in' gift? x

I'd imagine the 'in gift' will start to make itself clear from Sept onwards. That's usually when shops / media start to think about pushing stuff for Christmas.

My daughter who will be 6 Jan wants an interactive stitch which is £70! She’ll only be getting it if it goes half price!

Dd won't get many presents as I'm hopefully taking her away but this could be good, thanks x

Edit, agree its bloody pricey!

DD will be 6 in Sept, so wondering the same. Think most retailers are just doing their seasonal launches this month, which include their toy predictions.

FWIW, DD is all about Squishmallows, Squishalongs and Miraculous.

Whatthecluckingcluck · 06/07/2025 14:55

@Poonu we all have the Carver frame.
We managed to get it for £119, but that was with a discount and a £10 voucher from Amazon, but generally £129 is the lowest I’ve seen it go.
If you see it less than that, get it!

That’s the one. My concern is that it'll be a short lived novelty

Fwiw ive bought a few toys similar to this over the years

One person even got dd a 'twerking llama' (which was probably a little racist as we're black but I let it go 😭😭, shes lovely otherwise)

All of them have been discarded by dd after the first or second play 😅

But for the happy face on Christmas morning, I just sigh and pay

@alfiebest happy to send a referral code. You can usually stack it with Yoto's own discounts and gives a further 10% off. We love our Yotos - now have 4 - and happy to answer any questions anyone may have 🙂

Whatshesaid96 · 06/07/2025 17:02

Procook have 30% off plus an extra 10% off until midnight

Handy for the relatives who love to cook

Newnamesagain · 06/07/2025 19:40

Please can you put here if you see any offers on micro scooters? They make amazing main presents but SO expensive and I need one for a 9 year old.

Thank you - this does look lovely although as dd has autism she still cant balance on her three wheeled scooter yet

I've got no balance either but dont really have an excuse 🤭

I don’t usually see them on offer till October/november. Also on the market for a new one myself.

I know one year I got 2 for price of 1 in September. Other years I’ve got them as a discounted bundle around November for a decent price.

what are her interests?
my 8 year ds is autistic if we buy anything but Lego or transformers im guaranteed to trigger a meltdown.

though we do buy things to meet his sensory seeking needs
wandolf board
spinning swing thing for garden

generally plenty of sensory things.

Newnamesagain · 06/07/2025 20:03

Not me posting about micro scooters offers and then seeing their site has 20% off everything...

@sunshineandrain82 that's an incredible deal!

Oo right now soft toys, cupcakes and sand

So I've got on the potential stuffed toy list
Peppa and George (not the baby unfortunstely)
Bluey and bingo
A dinosaur (she likes saying dinosaur but I took her to the jurassic park thing at battersea and she had very little interest)
Some cheap animals: rabbit, lion, farm animals

And then one big present - maybe something like the stitch toy

But now you've said it, i could get her one of those sensory spin chairs! And maybe some balance boards 🤔

Bless ds, he knows what he likes 😄. Last Christmas mine didnt open any presents and played with the cutlery on the table id set out so I thought I might try and take her away this year and minimise the gifts

God, sorry for the ramble 🙈

Your fine. Christmas can look so different for us.
he’s one of 4 all actually on the spectrum but for him he has to know every present. No suprises. No wrapping. It’s far to overwhelming for him.

he’s finally getting what he’s always wanted next month. A brother and I do wonder if that will lead to him wanting changes in how he tolerates Christmas/ birthdays etc.

sunshineandrain82 · 06/07/2025 20:27

@Newnamesagain that deal wasn’t there when I looked earlier this week. Might be a good time to buy 🤔

Not sure how big your little one is but they have some of the spinny chair things in home bargains at the moment (as well as some other sensory type things) Smaller one for £50 and then a larger proper one Here for £140 I have no idea if these are a good deal but usually HB is heavily reduced 💛 hope it helps @youreactinglikeafunmum

Oh congratulations! 💕 (although, I bet youre glad of the cooler weather today)

Yeah, having another boy around will change him, Christmas will be about making his little brother happy as well

He might like helping his brother open his presents

Christmas is definitely different than I imagined - but she does seem into the Christmas lights - this year I won't bother decorating the tree with any baubles though as she just pulls them off and throws them

Thank you! Shes tall for 6 but the bigger one ive seen on tiktok, so it'll be that one

I'll have to look around to get it cheaper (or wait for a hb sale) but she'll love it, thank you 🥰

Oh definitely after having winter babies. I don’t know how anyone has summer babies 😰

one thing we learnt is to take what he gives us. Some years we like lights other years he hates them. he doesn’t like the Santa and elf’s “watching us” he believes in Santa but he doesn’t do Santa visits as he sees right through the costume.

Omg honestly, i feel foe you, i moan enough about the heat without being pregnant 🤭

I agree with this, especially as they get older

I feel so much more relaxed about stuff now, where she is is where she is, they're always changing
