Get as much bedding and towels ready as possible for the visitors.

Get stocking stuff from around the house once kids are asleep.

Clean bathroom

Clean kitchen

Hoover upstairs

Laundry

I'm working tomorrow. Emergency healthcare.

Shit I need to carry on.

belge2 · 23/12/2024 19:53

Make a pavlova tomorrow . Prep all the vegetables and turkey, make pigs in blankets . Hoover downstairs. Feeling vaguely organised.

Arraminta · 23/12/2024 19:53

Nothing. Everything done.

Will pop to M&S tomorrow to get nice nibbles, snacks and a cheeseboard. We're eating out Christmas Day, then just about every day up until Jan. 2nd so don't need to do a big grocery shop (thank God).

Gazelda · 23/12/2024 19:54

Cook dinner tonight because everyone else is busy sleeping or on phones
Dark washing
Dry washing
Ironing
Wrap DH gifts
Make mince pies
Physio appt then work tomorrow
Have a little cry in the shower if I get chance

SunnyValemin · 23/12/2024 19:54

Second blood test of the week in the morning, followed hopefully by hospital treatment. Then mad dash on the train to get to my mum's and relax / wrap the last of the presents. Not quite feeling festive yet 🤣

itsgettingweird · 23/12/2024 19:54

Take ds training at 5.30am 😫

Hoover

Mop floors

Bath and dress

Go to my dads for Christmas Eve as that's when we are doing Christmas Day as our family due to in law schedule!

Xmas day and Boxing Day there's no training. So ds and I will watch tv, play games and eat!

Is the chicken to cook for Christmas day? Surely it'll be defrosted by then? Leave it out of the fridge for a bit!

I was going to cook it tomorrow but Christmas Day would be fine but at this rate, it won’t even be defrosted by Easter!

I can’t defrost anywhere other than the fridge, I’m really funny about chicken but thank you!

Rainbow1901 · 23/12/2024 19:56

Just waiting on one present to arrive from Amazon and I am done with gifts. Spent today making cauliflower cheese and two types of stuffing for Xmas Day - they are now in the freezer. Just need to pack my list of things to take places on Xmas Eve and the same again for Xmas Day - food, presents, spare chairs etc etc.
Church service on Xmas Eve for carols and I'm ready for my mulled wine!!

folkmore · 23/12/2024 19:58

Right well your lists have reminded me about a million things. So thank you, but also grrrr 😂

Put bikes together x3 🫠 & put a humongous pile of washing away.

ChristmasKelpie · 23/12/2024 20:03

Have just finished cleaning and polishing the silver, crystal etc and i am now just about to have a warm puff pastry mince pie and a cuppa. Tomorrow i have to set the table and finish off the cleaning especially the front door as after the awful weather at the weekend it is filthy, and hang the wreath back on the door.

popandchoc · 23/12/2024 20:03

Popping to shops to get a few things in a bit, trying to leave it late.
Need to get a couple of presents out the loft.
Then just run hoover round tomorrow am and mop kitchen floor.

Lidlisthebusiness · 23/12/2024 20:04

Almost evergthing! I've barely touched the wrapping, and with 5 children I have lots of it to do! I'm blessed with children that don't sleep, especially at this time of year, and I've just not had a chunk of time to do it in.

DeffoNeedANameChange · 23/12/2024 20:05

I've still got to host 15 for my sister's birthday tomorrow! (but my other sister is hosting Christmas dinner, so I've definitely got the better deal this year - I'm only cooking bangers and mash)

pistachiosanscream · 23/12/2024 20:08

This thread reminded me to get my mums silver out. Otherwise this is by far my most organised Christmas.

relaxing bath and then watch some tv with my husband. Tomorrow I’ll cook the ham and prep the veg and then it’s our family party.

the fridge and freezers are stuffed. We’ve loads of nibbles and cheese. This year will all be about relaxing and enjoying.

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 23/12/2024 20:09

I cleaned the house today but 12yo DD is in craft mode so I'll need to do it again tomorrow.

Unwrap 2yo DN's treasure chest, hide it somewhere and then help DD make an aged-looking treasure map.

Unwrap DS's main present and stash it in my wardrobe for his birthday. Intercept DPD delivering his replacement present, wrap it and put it under the tree without him noticing.

Go to Sainsbury's for (copied & pasted from Google notes):

  • Cooking oil
  • More drinks
  • Cheesecake or something
  • Chocs for DB and SIL (hosting Christmas dinner)
  • Pains au chocolat

Get my hair cut.

Put away the washing currently drying all over the house.

Chill the drinks and attempt to look effortlessly glam, relaxed and ready to host assorted family members for cheese, nibbles and a treasure hunt.

CatOnAHotRadiator · 23/12/2024 20:11

Nothing right now. Food prep doesn’t start until tomorrow and I can’t swap my son’s bed to clean guest bedding until after he’s slept in it tonight. So I can have a drink and enjoy the TV and fire.

TaggieO · 23/12/2024 20:11

I fucked up. Booked the late delivery slot with Ocado thinking I’d be up late wrapping frantically like every sodding year of my adult life so far and I’ve bloody done everything so I’m sitting up aimlessly when I could be getting a lovely early night! 🤦‍♀️

PiastriThePastry · 23/12/2024 20:13

Make a crumble to take to in laws place on Christmas Day
Wrap my sons presents and a couple of last minute ones for FIL
Couple more loads of laundry
Wash the bloody dogs, the filthy grubarses have rolled in something foul today
Quick hoover
Move some big boxes (baby car seat and base) into in laws loft out of the way until they’re needed in March

All but the wrapping can wait til tomorrow, I’ve just had an ‘everything’ shower, put Gavin and Stacey on, opened a bottle of no-secco and a tub of roses 🐷

pizzaHeart · 23/12/2024 20:13

Only DH, DD and I for Christmas. What’s left:
Wrapping DH’s presents and things for stockings.
Baking a cake tomorrow.
Prepare vegs, drinks, cutlery (all bought)
Buy cream and milk
Vacuuming.
Nails.

Extiainoiapeial · 23/12/2024 20:16

Nothing now but tomorrow is full on!
Adult DCs and their partners have told me they are not coming till very early tomorrow morning (most WFH and online from 9am) and I am quite glad about that, I can go all out early tomorrow and crash about without waking them up!

All the peeling and prep in the morning and a bitter orange meringue roulade to be made

Dymaxion · 23/12/2024 20:17

Still got some presents to buy, so heading into town in the morning.
All the presents to wrap. Need to buy wrapping paper.
Tidy up and clean the house.( well downstairs at least ! )
Food prep and make the pudding for Christmas day, so its ready.
Remember to wash my uniform ready for Boxing day.
Need to buy a few random food bits.

Had to wait until getting paid today which is why I am so disorganised. Going to have a go at saving something each month next year to make it easier !

ChimpyChops · 23/12/2024 20:17

Finish work at 830.
Need to wrap their Christmas Eve pjs and books.
Pick up some cabbage.

Then tomorrow mum coming to collect their presents and the presents for my brother and sisters families as she drives around to everyone on Christmas Eve 🎄
Hot chocolate with the kids (and the ex-husband). Husband home at 6.

In between this - CLEAN!

BCBird · 23/12/2024 20:18
