Stick to my "to do" list and wish for a successful grocery delivery.
Not much I can do now so will chill... and try to persuade DH that the Grinch is not a good look

Relaxd · 23/12/2024 19:32

Quick tidy, 2 last minute deliveries to be wrapped - that’s it.

EcoCustard · 23/12/2024 19:33

Starting wrapping the kids presents with DH (4 kids so there’s a few). Awaiting a few deliveries despite ordering in very good time. Food shop early tomorrow morning, will go to Morrisons. Once back will walk our dog with kids, bake, watch movies etc everything else can go forth. It’s been a busy, chaotic year & I’ve never been so disorganised. However went to the panto yesterday. It was great, DH cooked the ham today while I picked up presents. Our big Christmas dinner is Boxing Day, Turkey, stuffing & pigs in blanket rolls with cold sides/salad/cheeseboard/chocolate for Christmas Day so no prep other than turkey to cook.

StarDolphins · 23/12/2024 19:33

I’m having to get up early tomorrow & get to Waitrose for when it’s open to buy a chicken because the one I took out yesterday to defrost in the fridge is still absolutely ROCK hard frozen😭 went today but everything sold out.

thegirlwithapearl · 23/12/2024 19:34

Clean the loos, wash sheets, hoover upstairs. That's it!

StickyStones · 23/12/2024 19:34

I decided to do bedding today which will take some of the stress out of tomorrow.

I'll be doing a lot of cooking tomorrow:

Christmas carrots
Spiced cabbage
Ham
Sausage stuffing
Chocolate orange cheesecake

There's a bit of cleaning to do but I've given most of those jobs to my husband.

Need to buy a nice Chablis to go with dinner. I still can't figure out what to go for!

FeelingSad2024 · 23/12/2024 19:36

Finish the yule log
Prep some stuffing balls for Boxing Day buffet
Wrap last couple of presents
Iron all my work clothes as working Xmas Day and Boxing Day morning and pack change of clothes for late Xmas day dinner after

Is the chicken to cook for Christmas day? Surely it'll be defrosted by then? Leave it out of the fridge for a bit!

BlackBean2023 · 23/12/2024 19:39

We're going for breakfast and to the cinema tomorrow then home for some last minute cleaning and laying the table up tomorrow evening.

We're not hosting this year - it's just me, DH and the kids so pressure is off, food shop and wrapping is done- I'm looking forward to it.

Cantstopthenoise · 23/12/2024 19:40

One more shopping delivery to do, routine jobs/Sainsburys run and then just chill with the kids mostly.

MrsPeregrine · 23/12/2024 19:40

I’ve got 2 presents left to wrap and then labels to stick on everything. The house is fairly tidy but I will have a lazy day at home pottering around and making it a bit tidier ready for the big day.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think this 🤣

Wrapping
Tidying up
Santa biscuits
Emergency potato run!

Just did my emergency potato run face palm

Moonfasa100 · 23/12/2024 19:43

Nothing. I didn't do much to start with.

I don't really celebrate Christmas myself

I just get a present for my mum as she likes one.

MoreIcedLattePlease · 23/12/2024 19:45

Unpack food shopping when it arrives (due any minute).
Put Christmas Eve box together - won't take long, I just need to chuck stockings & new PJs in.
Wrap last two stocking fillers that arrive with food shopping.
Wrap Ddog's tree present.

Other than that, all done!

Thaiyogamassage · 23/12/2024 19:48

Drop kids at their dads. Come home and sit on sofa. Remain there until January 1st.

Chipsahoy · 23/12/2024 19:48

Will clean shower room tomorrow and Hoover. That’s it!

Lossyfloss · 23/12/2024 19:49

Not a lot. Wrap some pressies. I decorated the Christmas cake today and did the big food shop.

Hoover round and wipe bathrooms tmrw quickly.

I'm watching the west wing under a blanket. My happy place!

MadmansLibrary · 23/12/2024 19:49

Early run to get fresh vegetables and Christmas Eve movie snacks, and two final Christmas gifts from one shop. Then I think that's it other than veg prep Christmas Eve. I have been super organised this year and have even bought myself some nice gifts (single mum). Feeling pretty relaxed about it all!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/12/2024 19:49

Tonight? Bugger all except pizza, wine and a horror movie or two.

Tomorrow? LOTS of advance preparation so that Christmas day runs smoothly and serenely.

AgileGreenSeal · 23/12/2024 19:49

Most important things to do today were, in chronological order-
get a good swim in the sea 🏊‍♀️
visit my mum 🥰
relax with grandchildren in the evening 🥰

BurglarAndSwag · 23/12/2024 19:50

In the the olden days, we would finish work down the yard about eleven, down the boozer for few.
Then when it closed at 2:30 (as it did in them days) We'd be diwn the shops 'lifting for ours dinners on Christmas day. Pot luck really.

This year, we'll be down the canteen in Block C wiv our metal tray.
It's not too bad, some geezer's been knocking up some 'home-brew' with potatas that's his got from.the kitchen (bins). I'll probably have a mug of that.

Then we'll watch 'What a Wonderful Life' on the telly, have a bit a smatterin' and back our 'rooms' for lock-in.

Be makin wooden toys for some kids next year, that or finalising my OU degree in Tudor Embroidery - depends what dupes the Parole Board best, I spose.

Nothing
Sitting with a baileys watching a nightmare before Christmas

That sounds quite good.
Don't drink - cannot have Baileys.
Effing Horlicks, then.
😬

CatsBeCrazy · 23/12/2024 19:50

More shopping with the help of a diazepam and my son that does my Apple Pay (had the shakes even before I went out)
Wrapping
Cleaning and tidying
Started since 10am only just stopped and I still haven't finished 😭 I'm just hoping I don't have a mental health burn out so I'm gonna have to stop even though there are other things I need to do .

marginallyawake · 23/12/2024 19:51

All of the present wrapping
Finish the house cleaning
Put up the tree
Find the missing outdoor lights, last seen in July.
