My last shift is on Saturday 21st until 11pm then I'm off until Jan 2nd.
Can't wait!
Although wish I was breaking up on the 20th with the kids.

OP posts:

Same time the kids on Friday 20th. Can't wait as work has been so draining lately.

notatinydancer · 10/12/2024 16:49

I don't. NHS ☹️

NoWordForFluffy · 10/12/2024 16:50

I'm having an op on Thursday, so tomorrow!

Minihero · 10/12/2024 16:52

Half day on the 20th Dec, back on the 6th Jan

coxesorangepippin · 10/12/2024 16:54

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 10/12/2024 16:55

8pm on 23rd and back in 7am 26th

stayathomer · 10/12/2024 16:56

Retail but have Christmas Eve off somehow! So 23rd (at midnight!)

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 10/12/2024 17:14

Local government - I have the bank holidays off, but am taking a week off in January.

FestiveFelines · 10/12/2024 17:16

We’re closing on 19th and don’t go back until 6th January.

TwixForTea · 10/12/2024 17:16

I’ve got the 25th and 1st off, but US overlords expect me to be working every day including weekends as we have a project they decided to go live with. I could weep. Why the eff they chose Christmas is beyond me!

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 10/12/2024 17:17

Finish half day on 20th and not back til 6th Jan!

Dontcallmescarface · 10/12/2024 17:22

I finish 6pm next Thursday (the 19th), and return 2pm on the 2nd of January.

UpUpUpU · 10/12/2024 17:28

I am coming off nights on the 23rd then back on a long day 27th (also NHS)

Eminybob · 10/12/2024 17:35

Half day on Xmas eve. Would be back 27th but have a couple days annual leave so back on 31st.

SingingSands · 10/12/2024 17:43

Officially the 20th - which is filling me with joy as it's been years and years since I had a break before Christmas Day.

BUT my boss is very demanding (I feel like I'm in The Devil Wears Prada most days) so I'm not actually expecting any peace on 23rd or 24th 🙄 which is annoying but I'm being realistic.

BashfulClam · 10/12/2024 21:17

Finish 24th and go back on the 6th. I get 4 bank holidays as I’m in Scotland and took the rest as annual leave.

Westiegirl3 · 10/12/2024 21:28

For the first time in 26 years I have a wonderful Christmas break, I finish on 20th and go back on the 2nd I feel mighty excited by it too, prior to this I've worked 25 Christmas days, boxing days and new years eves on the bounce

LadyChilli · 10/12/2024 21:30

Officially 5pm on the 20th. I'll not last till then and DS school closes at noon so my plan is to put a few extra hours in at the start of the week, do a 7am start on the Friday then disappear at lunchtime.

PastaAndProse · 10/12/2024 21:31

I only work PT Tues-Thur, and my last day is this week on the 12th. I go back on Tuesday 7th ☺️

MrsSunshine2b · 10/12/2024 21:33

In theory, I'm only off from 23rd-3rd Jan, but in reality there won't be any work to do. Most of my job is reactive and in response to emails and email traffic has already dropped to basically zero. I WFH so I'll have my laptop on and will be periodically checking just in case.

GiantRoadPuzzle · 10/12/2024 21:33

I’m on mat leave, but DH is finishing on 20th, back on the 2nd.

K0OLA1D · 10/12/2024 21:34

24th. But I'll have to log on probably most days for an hour or so up until the 31st. Then I am off off until the 6th

Titsywoo · 10/12/2024 21:34

I run my own business and will do my last day on 23rd then take my employees out for dinner. After that not back until 6th - bliss! Admittedly I will likely be doing a bit of admin while 'off' but as little as possible.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 10/12/2024 21:52

I'm working until the 24th, then I'm off till Jan 3rd. It's the longest break I've had at Xmas/new year for more than 10 years. I usually work between Xmas and new year (I'm non clinical NHS so we don't work bank hols but do need some of the team working on the other days) and I am so looking forward for once to being able to spend those days watching Xmas TV, eating too much food, relaxing and spending time with friends.

Nourishinghandcream · 12/12/2024 13:05

I am (early) retired but OH still works and breaks up today, not returning to work until 7th Jan.
