I'd planned a coffee subscription but completely forgot, so thanks. I'm ordering from here, my husbands favourite and lots of choice. They also do barista courses so that may be fun.

We are another couple that don’t spend any money on each other, but I love reading these threads! My own DH is getting coffee in bed on Christmas morning (bear with me Grin)

He brings me a cup of tea in bed every single morning which I love. I am disabled and the stairs are hard for me and I am not meant to carry hot drinks upstairs. But I am going to set my alarm early, get myself downstairs and make coffee and bring it back up in a leakproof travel mug, with his “own” special coffee mug, in a crossbody bag. I shall then decant the coffee into his mug and give it to him in bed Xmas Smile

I also get a kiss with my cup of tea, every morning. It’s been one of our in-jokes for literally decades, that his face is too cold for kissing if he’s come back in from the night shift. So while the coffee is brewing, I am going to stick my face out of the window until it is cold, so when I give him the coffee I shall also give him a kiss with my cold face. I can’t believe I am typing this on a public forum Blush

It’s the little things in life Smile

That just brought tears to my eyes! What a lovely, thoughtful gift @StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair

Husband wanted one of these tattooed figurines. It's so funny this tattooed bearded lug wanting a porcelain doll!!.

I spent ages choosing the right one for him.

Why are men so hard to buy for?!

needapokerface · 08/12/2024 16:51

A steam deck, a carry case for the deck, a couple of shirts, a sweatshirt, socks and the usual sweets and smellies.

StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair · 08/12/2024 17:18

Awww I’m very touched by the amount of replies/messages following my post! I only posted it as a sort of throw away comment as we don’t spend actual money on Christmas presents.

I shall update if I actually manage to do it. Obviously I didn’t give full details on my first post, but it will actually be quite hard to achieve this “coffee with a cold faced kiss” present! DH is always up early (around 5am atm due to work patterns) and sleeps incredibly lightly as he keeps one ear open for the cats, who fuck about in the night Hmm I, on the other hand, sleep extremely heavily due to a load of sedating meds, and could sleep through any amount of noise. I do usually wake up naturally around 3/4 for medication so had planned to just try and stay awake from then. It may also be hard to get out of the bedroom/downstairs without waking DH as I use equipment which may wake him. So I have also planned for this bit - we sometimes play “sleep nature sound” type stuff on Alexa before we go to sleep so I was going to leave it on all night which will hopefully make DH sleep more heavily and will cover any sounds I make (and I’ll try to deal with any cat related fucking around, before it wakes DH!)

It is like a military operation Grin (and that’s before I even think of the aftermath eg how to warm my ears up afterwards Xmas Grin)

Zoomo · 08/12/2024 23:07

Brilliant! Hope you pull it off @StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair

ParentsTrapped · 09/12/2024 05:57

Love it @StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair - I’m sure you will pull it off!

Ive got DH a set of mini aftershaves from a fancy shop, a new cocktail shaker and some coupe glasses, and will get him margarita ingredients to make us a nice cocktail on Xmas day! I will get him some new books as well plus some stuff from the kids - probably beers from our local brewery and socks.

sykadelic · 09/12/2024 06:00

Nothing. Lol

We've been married 15 years and in the first year of marriage I listened and I planned and I thought I did well. Instead he told me that while I did listen well, he doesn't want me to waste money on stuff. I was really upset at the time.

Now I tell him he gets nothing unless he tells me what he wants. Or he can pick something and take my card. Sometimes when he likes something I ask if he wants that for Christmas/birthday/anniversary and just pay for it. We're old enough now we just buy what we want when we want.

He still gets me gifts though. 🎁

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/12/2024 06:00

We’re doing the something you want, need, wear, read (we’ve changed this to do) thing.

Want - Camping chair
Need - Head shaver
Wear - Photo blanket
Read/do - Game That Song game

reluctantbrit · 09/12/2024 08:11

DH is asking for an electronic note pad. I also add a book.

He wants a gillet, he has a cold-ish outbuilding for his hobby, but I think he needs to be dragged to a physical shop to try them on.

I love this. It’s what true love is all about. Hope he enjoys it as much as you’ve enjoyed planning it.

Wrap a bag of frozen peas or something in a teatowel and hold them on your face for a while to get the cold face rather than going outside.

StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair · 09/12/2024 16:49

@reluctantbrit I have seen heated gilets mentioned as wondrous products quite a few times in other Christmas threads so that might be an option too?

I am sorry I have derailed the thread somewhat with the cold faced coffee present! @AhBiscuitsfrozen peas are genius idea, thank you. Bit embarrassed that didn’t even occur to me Blush

Slight spanner in the works now Hmm that I may be in hospital or physically not capable on Christmas Day so I am working on a back up plan. This could be separate thread worthy as I really don’t want to make a presents for peoples DHs all about me. I had the idea of roping in a grown up DC who will be with us for Xmas, to bring him coffee and one of those frozen (American Pyscho style!) eye/face masks, on my behalf. I think though it’ll just wait until I’m able to do it myself and be a delayed Christmas present. Even if it’s April or something Grin Anyway I’ll update when I do it, and I hope everyone’s partners on the thread likes their presents Xmas Smile

Annestree · 09/12/2024 17:02

Neck massager
posh toiletries
Socks and underwear
Slippers
Chocolate

DisruptiveCumin · 10/12/2024 05:26

An aurora borealis lamp because he said he wants it
About a ton of his favorite snacks
Gloves and scarf matching set
He also mentioned he wanted to try photo restoration, so I'm thinking of a Photoglory subscription, but idk if I'll get it or leave it to him to sort out

AhBiscuits · 10/12/2024 19:14

Gah, something I've ordered has been cancelled due to no stock.
I've replaced with some nice PJs from M&S and a martini gift set.

DiscoBeat · 10/12/2024 19:15

2 silk cravats, an antique book, things for his hobby, cashmere socks and some cufflinks. Looking for stocking filler ideas!

DiscoBeat · 10/12/2024 19:16

Oh and an old fashioned style (but new) soda syphon (by request)

PlumpHobbit · 10/12/2024 23:11

Mine has purchased the 2 main presents (his birthday is in December too so some are birthday) he wants with me transferring him the money for them 🙄

A jumper
A rucksack
A game

Not exciting at all 😂

I've got some bits to go with it

Not lego but similar bus for his favourite football team
A book from my cat as she likes to wind him up (you can personalise the book and choose the cat, it's actually a children's book but its doing several of the things that annoy him!)
Gymshark top as they had a sale
Choc orange cover
Charger that charges all 3 main apple devices following a suggestion off a thread on here
Baby outfit saying I'm watching (insert DH team) with daddy. This pained me as my team is their bitter rivals but he's so hard to buy for I sucked it up 😂

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 04/12/2024 21:40

A new hoodie, waterproof slippers he can walk up the garden in, a bottle of gin from a place we went on holiday and a fridge magnet that has a picture of us on and plays the song we had as our first dance. I feel quite happy. Two of them will be 'from the kids' and he'll get a few silly things in his stocking like premixed cans of espresso Martin and obligatory chocolate orange.

Where did you get the magnet from? It sounds lovely but not sure mine is sentimental enough to appreciate it 🙄

Eyesopenwideawake · 12/12/2024 17:47

A new Barbour
Bright pink Crocs (he's a legend on Teams for his footwear!)
Fluffy-yet-firm pillows (as requested)
A pocket knife
Lots of chocolates that I don't like

Decafflatteplease · 12/12/2024 17:48

Aww @StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair that is so lovely you'll have to come back and update us!

DH and I (over 20 years together) haven't done Christmas presents for each other for years now, it was a joint decision! Instead we usually treat ourselves to a takeaway just the 2 of us in front of the tv when the DC are asleep!

Onlyonekenobe · 12/12/2024 18:05

The holy grail of bike-to-office trousers - which he will probably return because of the teeny tiny invisible-to-the-naked-eye lululemon tab at the waistband. They have a reflective strip at the ankle on the inside: all he’d have to do is roll up his pants when on the bike, roll them down when off. I really worry about him cycling in the dark, even though he has all the lights and we’re in a city. I’m going to try to convince him to cut off the tag/tab.

Also a coffee bean subscription.

Needanewname42 · 12/12/2024 23:05

@StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair
I meant to reply earlier i spotted someone else's post and went back to read yours. I hope you are able to pull this off.
It sounds like a really sweet thing to do.
Good luck 👍
