We are another couple that don’t spend any money on each other, but I love reading these threads! My own DH is getting coffee in bed on Christmas morning (bear with me Grin)

He brings me a cup of tea in bed every single morning which I love. I am disabled and the stairs are hard for me and I am not meant to carry hot drinks upstairs. But I am going to set my alarm early, get myself downstairs and make coffee and bring it back up in a leakproof travel mug, with his “own” special coffee mug, in a crossbody bag. I shall then decant the coffee into his mug and give it to him in bed Xmas Smile

I also get a kiss with my cup of tea, every morning. It’s been one of our in-jokes for literally decades, that his face is too cold for kissing if he’s come back in from the night shift. So while the coffee is brewing, I am going to stick my face out of the window until it is cold, so when I give him the coffee I shall also give him a kiss with my cold face. I can’t believe I am typing this on a public forum Blush

This is absolutely adorable! 🥰

DH is notoriously hard to buy for, he's just not a 'stuff' person, doesn't wear aftershave or drink or anything like that. He has a subscription to a gaming service and I found a model of Johnny 5 that I think he'll like, Short Circuit is one of his favourite films.

SprinkleOfSunak · 07/12/2024 09:08

My Husband’s Birthday is fairly soon after Christmas and I have asked him what he would like but he either tells me ‘anything,’ or ‘a house in Central London.’ I certainly can’t afford the latter! This has been his standard response to this question for years!

We tend to buy each other around 4 presents each at Christmas.

So far I have bought the following, and may reserve 1 or 2 of these for his Birthday.

Bottle of Limoncello
Box of Venchi chocolates
A tin of amaretti biscuits
LED candle from M&S

I’m stuck as to what main present(s) to buy, but will probably buy either Bleu de Chanel or Dior Eau Sauvage as he loves both. He also adores whisky, Grand Marnier and Frangelico liqueur, so I may buy one or 2 of these too and divide between Birthday and Christmas.

Minihero · 07/12/2024 09:09

I just twitched and got him a digerido

Natsku · 07/12/2024 09:19

He wants a new amp for his guitar, its pricy though so I'm not getting it for Christmas but sometime after Christmas, putting aside some money this month and some next, maybe the next month too depending on other expenses. For actual Christmas I'll just get him some chocolates and a shirt so he has something to open.

@StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair I think that’s one of the nicest posts I’ve read, really made me go aww. Goes to show it’s what you do not what you spend that conveys love!

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 07/12/2024 09:38

He's had it ... a ticket to see David Gilmour and a trip to Rome

That's some twitch! How are you hoping to hide that? And wrap, so not obvious as yo what it is?

@StopDoingWheeliesInMyChair - I love your idea! Sounds like a lovely thing to do - hope he appreciates it xx

FlutteryButterfly · 07/12/2024 12:00

Aple Watch

Therealmetherealme · 07/12/2024 12:17

Generally things he's asked for but added on a Sage Puck Sucker, to stop the banging when making coffee. I'm going to read through the list for inspiration.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 07/12/2024 12:19

Socks
Sweets
Chocolate
A retro game device

We both know what we have for each other- we are only doing it for our children's benefit so we're all opening presents together as a family otherwise me and dp wouldn't have bothered to save money

xmasguineapig · 07/12/2024 12:33

Kylie gig tickets
Kylie CD
Gardening book
Sci-fi book

Dh has always wanted to see Kylie and we tried to get tickets but no luck. Tickets came available in resale so I bought them.

Runskiyoga · 07/12/2024 12:34

Thanks @Crikeyalmighty just bought tickets for a film at Everyman for DH, we haven't been before and he likes things to do not stuff

StrikeForever · 07/12/2024 12:38

A small drone for Christmas. A fleece and joggers for his birthday on 22nd. I’m really surprised by the lists of items for an adult. Not criticising at all, just surprised. I have only ever done the ‘lots of presents to unwrap’ for children. We find it tough enough to find something good to buy for each other for one present.

You'd get on well with that husband who bought a periscope last year.

Octaviathethird · 07/12/2024 12:57

A couple of bottles of posh port, one is a sloe port, and a beer selection. An asked for laptop bag and electric toothbrush. Plus some biscuits from my dd.

HurdyGurdy19 · 07/12/2024 13:03

Tools, tool type gadgets, and tools.

In his stocking there is a box of Pontefract cakes, a book about WWII, a pair of socks, and an ice scraper for the car windows, which was recommended on another thread.

Grannyinnwaiting · 07/12/2024 15:14

Dm boots, sweater, pyjamas, sheepskin slippers

Crikeyalmighty · 07/12/2024 16:15

@Runskiyoga - yep I've bought my sons GF the same along with some stocking bits- she doesn't drink, doesn't wear make up, funny about what she eats , not sporty, doesn't really read- really really hard to buy for - a very lovely kind person - but hard to buy for - but she really loves stuff 'to do' and they don't have loads of spare money either as live in London -

Dropthepilots · 07/12/2024 17:58

We don't do "stuff" and DH is very anti unnecessary gift giving to the point of being pretty grumpy about it. I've gone for experience gifts for us to do together, which has worked well so far, this time it's a murder mystery event including an overnight stay, we'll probably end up actually doing in May or June (from past experience).

Tinaforshort · 07/12/2024 19:03

We’re not exchanging gifts this Christmas as our Motability car is being changed and we have the advance payment to pay.

In previous years I bought him some Rayban sunglasses, they were over 50% off because it was the winter, guitar and amp Lego and a tube screamer for his guitar.

MammaGnomes · 07/12/2024 19:57

We managed to get (the ridiculously priced) oasis tickets for next summer so we have said that will be this years Xmas present to each other and we'll just buy each other something off DD

However. Derren Brown announced dates near us so I bought tickets and I'll give him them for Xmas off me. I went last year with my sisters and he was fab. DH was really jealous so he'll love this

MammaGnomes · 07/12/2024 19:59

Meant to add his recent birthday presents to give inspiration

Ralph Lauren qtr zip jumper
Whiskey
Ninja soup maker
