What Christmasy things are you doing today?

Our decs are up but the outside lights will be put up today.
Currently sat on the sofa with the tree lights twinkling, coffee by my side and a Christmas film playing in the background. Looking forward to a sunset dog walk later to see people's lights before a nice roast dinner 😊

I bought a wooden Xmas star with Xmas tree bits and little twinkle lights in it this year to go outside my front door instead of a Xmas wreath. It's going up today. Xmas tree is up but having to wait for DH to put the lights on it before we can decorate.

We have put our tree up today and decorated the conservatory. When my daughter comes home from the Xmas markets with her friends ( teen) I will help her make her room Christmassy . She has a little tree, tinsel and new bedding. Oh and hubby has put some Christmas lights out the front.

Advent calendars and I’ve put the tree up. It’s a bit early for us but it was either today or the 21st as that is the next time I’m free to do it 😭 Also got booze presents delivered with my shopping so I’m done for shopping except money, vouchers and cards. I’ve decanted some quality street into the festive bowl but they look like they taste this year sadly.

I made these pomander oranges today, they smell amazing!

This is a lovely thread, it almost makes me wish I was a start Christmas early person, which I'm not. I don't expect to do anything Christmassy for another couple of weeks, but I have started sorting out and tidying the house today, so I suppose that's something

I put the wreath on the door yesterday and got the advent calendar out that I made the year DD was born 🥰

We went to the cinema this morning to see a festive film, then went to a christmas market. DH won't let me put the tree up yet but I'm going to go through all the decorations tonight. I picked up an old Quality Street tin recently which had an expiry date on the bottom of May 1994! I'm going to use it to store all the extra baubles I bought this year.

Went to see The Snowman as a ballet in London with DD

We went to visit my eldest at uni to bring her her advent calendar. I surprised her with traditional Swedish saffron buns that she loves, a big tin of quality street and a little potted Christmas tree. I'm hoping that will bring her Christmas cheer until she comes home for Christmas.

I made some kind of version of a North Pole breakfast - pancakes with Nutella, squirty cream, mini marshmallows and sprinkles for me and my partner and mini doughnuts and mini marshmallows for our 3 year old. Me and my partner also had hot chocolate with cream, mini marshmallows and sprinkles. It was far too much and we felt sick for awhile after but oh well 🙈😂 Our 3 year old wanted more donuts and marshmallows all day 😂😂

I decorated the little tree with the special keepsake baubles and let my 3 year old decorate the big tree however he wanted 🥰🎄

I got all the Christmas books, pjs, new Christmas jumper for our 3 year old and craft stuff downstairs and we opened our advent calendars 🙂

I’m making pictures out of hand and footprints for the grandparents and great grandparents and I did a bit more work on them tonight too 🎄

It's not too bad, just over an hour in Birmingham. She took us in to the city centre and we mooched around the Christmas market. It was just lovely to see Harry. Every time we had planned to go in November someone was ill.

I might start wrapping a few Christmas presents this evening. I also may pop to the local retail park to get some stocking bits.

Bought some presents for the teens for under the tree - result.

Plan is to be more or less dine with present buying this time next week.

It was almost at the stage that wrapping paper wouldn't be required.

I was reminded yesterday that I’d forgotten to buy an advent calendar for DS. So I rectified that this morning. He’s 23. I didn’t think he’d be bothered. Whoops!

And I had a root canal. Not very Christmassy. Then I went shopping to cheer myself up.

We are getting the tree & decoration tubs down from the attic today.

It'll take me all week to decorate as I need to remove autumn decorations, clean then put christmas ones out. I pace myself and enjoy it that way.

Our outside lights have been up for two weeks, super early for us but the weather here was so dull and grey I just needed christmas lights.

Just about to go physical shopping to hopefully get a large percentage of outstanding gifts not to be ordered online.

I have a list I am hopeful but it's the hooe that kills you, added complication x2 birthday presents this week as well. But such is life.

I shall be making my pigs in blankets for the freezer. And possibly doing a bit more present wrapping.

Christmas tree in kitchen sitting area is going up I hope.

And I want to see if I have enough photos of our dogs to do a photo book for DS and DH.

Well our December birthday boy is ok phew!
Not quite as successful for Christmas shopping but ticked a few things off, list definitely smaller!

At least at the stage I can see if stockings are done and make a new slightly shorter list.

So small progress!
