What Christmasy things are you doing today?

Our decs are up but the outside lights will be put up today.
Currently sat on the sofa with the tree lights twinkling, coffee by my side and a Christmas film playing in the background. Looking forward to a sunset dog walk later to see people's lights before a nice roast dinner 😊

Tree went up last night (pretending it was December!) and I'm having a festive meal out with some friends this afternoon. Before that I'm off to get my nails done- something sparkly I think!

Christmas tree is up with lights on, going to do the baubles with dc this afternoon and put tacky 80’s/90’s foil streamers on the ceiling this evening.
Christmas table cloth is on, and Christmas candles are out 😂
Going to finish doing the wrapping this evening.

Too early to do much other than doing a huge John Lewis order. If I put a tree up today I would be itching to take it down on Boxing Day (it has happened!)

Decorated my tree this morning while listening to my Christmas playlist. Also sorted a bag of decorations to take into work tomorrow so I can decorate my classroom. I’ve got some mince pies in which I will have for afternoon tea while watching something Christmassy and might do some more online shopping for gifts.

Went to Homebase to get a new 7ft artificial tree, our 15 year old smaller one is looking a little battered now, it won’t go to waste though as put it on our neighbourhood group and someone wants it.
didn’t realise Homebase were going into administration so some Xmas things had a 10% reduction so bought a few more baubles.

Have put the new tree up ready for when DC return from their weekend with the grandparents so they can decorate it.

Nothing in the house yet except a Christmas scented candle later. We lit the first candle on the advent wreath at church this morning and sang O Come All Ye Faithful as our final hymn though.

Christmas market.. just about to set off.
Got my tree etc out ready to do tomorrow with my Grandson.
This time next week will be at another Christmas market in Lanzarote in the sun.
Love being at our villa just before Christmas.. but will be home for Christmas.

I forgot how exhausting it is changing a super king duvet. Time for a brew & a mince pie!

NT and English Heritage houses and castles are lovely at this time of year. My adult dcs have always loved visiting. The history is a big part of it.

Opened the Advent Calendars: very glad that my mum is visiting DS1 at uni this weekend so he gets his Advent calendars too.
Writing Christmas cards and planning what to plant in the new group of trees to go in our field, which will be DH and my Christmas present to each other.

We are having a lazy day today and decorating the house for Christmas. The kids have requested to stay in their pjs today.

Nothing. It's 1st December. Christmas starts on 24th.

DH has just popped to bed for a couple of hours after work. Then when he gets up we are have a furniture rearrangement, we have a playpen coming for DD so we need more room. Then Christmas decs are going up.

Should be done by tomorrow and we’ll pop a film on in that time as well.

We bought the tree last night and have just finished putting it up

kids opened advent calendars so that was nice

forgot to bring the elves but will do that tonight

have all the lights and garlands up and changed a rug I used this time of year and have Christmas mugs

We are listening to A Christmas Carol on audio - it's the Derek Jacobi version and its fantastic!

DD took advent calendar out. DH and I don’t do calendars this year.
Apart from it nothing - we all are not well this weekend so we’ve cancelled plans rather then planned something exciting.

Christmas tree went up yesterday. This morning did a Christmas treasure hunt. Clue number one was in drawer number one of the advent calendar. Final prize was Christmas pyjamas and a chocolate coin under the tree. This afternoon we'll be making waffles with melted chocolate and Christmas sprinkles.

My children wrote all their Christmas cards to their friends and teachers this morning. One of their favourite Christmas activities!

We only remembered about advent calendars after lunch - oops!

Am sorting out some presents for wrapping.

Day started with Advent calendars for DCs.

No tree till next weekend but I've unpacked other candles and some fairy lights and found one of those disk with a vertical pin candle holder for our Advent candle.

Christmas cards are being written, at least those to family members who would appreciate a letter and a photo of DCs.

Listened to an advent church service thing first thing this morning on the radio that was Christmassey. Had the last green volunteering session before Christmas so there were amazing home made mince pies and various other biscuits and such like, youngster tried one of everything and got away with it because he's cute!

And just about to open first doors on advent calendars.

That's enough to be going on with.

We have put our Christmas trees and decorations up today as dd3 is home from uni this weekend and we have a couple of jam packed weeks ahead so today was the only time we can do it.
I've got puddings in the freezer that I've made the last few days for when we entertain over Christmas so I used some leftover pastry to make us all a mince pie for later and I'm rather tempted by the idea of a Baileys hot chocolate on the sofa with a Christmas movie 🎄
