Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

For those ordering from Victoria Beckham Beauty, code WITHWHIT takes 20% off instead of the 15% code

Thank you, just used this and took my eyeliner and brow gel to just under £50 with the free eye pencil

For anyone that is an Escape to the Chateau fan, their latest book is currently 91% off on Amazon for the hardback and only £2.04 and free shipping with prime!

I can't get the link to work. Has this finished?

Reastie · 18/11/2024 07:31

Excellent idea about the codes thread. I've set one up here. I thought I'd do a new one just so everyone didn't get confused by the Vodafone title on the other one.

If this works, this could be so handy, so do feel free to post codes on there and you're welcome to direct people or share on here too. The idea is kind of working together in tandem.

Hope this works OK 🤞🏻

There’s a great anker powerbank deal at the moment
£16.99 (with an extra 10% voucher) for a 10,000

mummydoris2006 · 17/11/2024 23:47

@hugsandpugs I only have a 15% off showing for the powerbank, am I doing something wrong?

I’m assuming it was a time limited deal though it didn’t say it was. That’s the only thing with Amazon the prices fluctuate so much 😬

Jellybum2019 · 18/11/2024 07:38

Some good neom offers on free gifts with certain spends

The Escape to the Chateau book is still the same price. I've taken a punt and ordered a copy for my hard-to-buy-for BIL.

ruralwanderer · 18/11/2024 07:42

Re: the £5.84 powerbank, I bought one last night. Wanted 2 but when I updated the basket the price changed to £20.02 so I stuck with the one (hoping that the deal will come back before Christmas!) The current deal showing on my account is 20% off bringing 1 to just over £13.

I would be grateful for some recommendations for cashmere fingerless gloves but not from Turtle Doves as whenever I have ordered from them, I never receive quite the colour I want. Also looking for a messenger/laptop bag for my DH. I tried looking in physical shops but not many sell them and online is difficult to judge the quality. He would prefer something not too bulky/wide and also with a luggage strap so to use on business trips. Thank you.

Thank you @Reastie

i often have 2 o2 priority codes I don’t use, so will pop them on this new thread if any exciting bargains come up!

Elphaba17 · 18/11/2024 08:08

I didn’t realise Victoria beckham did a beauty
range - any particular recommendations? I like the look of the brightening eye pencil but wondering if it’s a gimmick!

hugsandpugs · 18/11/2024 08:22

Vodafone are offering a free pooch & mutt dogs advent calendar - just pay £1 delivery for anyone who is on Vodafone. I’ve just ordered one for our pug 🎄❤️🐶

MsSheldonCooper · 18/11/2024 08:29

Discounts have started at Papier today. Their personalised notebooks is one of my no fail gifts which I have bought so many people and it always goes down well.

discounts are between 10-25% with the code “secretsale” but you can use a referral link from the referrals board to get £10 off your first purchase.

i highly recommend this as a great gift for friends, family, teachers etc. it is very thoughtful and beautiful paper people love writing on.

I'm looking for some 'nice' plain black men's socks - I mean I could go to M&S but wondered if there's anywhere else anyone would recommend?

Not exciting at all, I know 😂

Lidl had Sketchers ones for 4.99 when I was in there yesterday

Skullduggeryfizz · 18/11/2024 08:40

A nice throw from Debenhams, lots of other designs

I've only used the satin kajal eye liner, but I love it. Others on a style and beauty thread said they found it smudged too much, but it is perfect and foolproof for my (fairly dry) skin.

I can't speak for any of the other products, but the quality of the eyeliner is certainly fab.

After some advice on the order of the diddly squat farm books. Just want the first one to go with some diddly squat lager for dad but struggling to work it out!

weareallqueens · 18/11/2024 09:22

For anyone struggling to spend their £10 John Lewis womenswear voucher - I used mine on tights and it applied the discount.

RoastPotatoConnoisseur · 18/11/2024 09:31

@PumpkinSpicedTea it is still going. Try this link - amzn.eu/d/7vkdY2C

If that doesn't work, just search escape to the chateau forever home and it comes up.

I know it was briefly mentioned a few threads ago but can anyone please recommend a mini fridge for gamer DS, thinking this might be a practical but novel addition to his gaming space.

Wishingiwastracytutor · 18/11/2024 09:41

Does anyone know if national geographic are likely to do a Black Friday deal on the kids magazine subscription am looking for my daughter … many thanks

What's the difference between the Velvetiser and making hot chocolate in a Tassimo Machine?
