Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@hugsandpugs I only have a 15% off showing for the powerbank, am I doing something wrong?

Notlongnow1 · 17/11/2024 23:49

Did anyone buy the Cuisinart Griddle and Grill? Anh good? Tempted for DH but not sure if it's really more for me!

flouncymcflouncerson · 18/11/2024 00:02

Elemis superfood already up in price but still a good deal

InDreamland · 18/11/2024 00:18

How have I missed 2 whole threads? Been so busy I can't keep up.

Sorry if already mentioned, not exactly a bargain but as delivery charges aren't cheap this is worth it if you're thinking of putting in a big order anyway, Fortnum and Mason currently offering free named day delivery on orders over £150.

There's a lot of Disney Princess dolls, like the Barbie ones, for £7 each on Amazon.

My son loves hot chocolate, I'm looking at the Velvetiser vs Salter Chocolatier vs Dualit Cocoatiser. One magazine review said the Velvetiser was far better, but it's also obviously far more expensive. Both the Salter and Dualit are on offer at the moment.

Does anyone have any real life reviews or comparisons they could help with please?

IHeartKingThistle · 18/11/2024 02:41

@FriendlyLaundryMonster what about pyrogrqphy? Either a course or the kit - I got my dad a set one year with some wooden keyrings etc. to practise on and he loved it.

IHeartKingThistle · 18/11/2024 02:41

I mean pyrography LoL

@TheBigFish not for me, I get this message when I check out?

Why would anybody want anything by those Beckham chavs? I stopped buying women's magazines years ago as after she could no longer prance behind more talented SGs for attention, they kept saying she's a style icon, when everybody I know is more stylish. It's as if the whole meaning of style and class has now gone downhill to cheap looking orange people, so that certain over hyped and talentless celebs can be promoted.

Can someone recommend some inexpensive but good essential oils to go in an electric diffuser?

mumonthehill · 18/11/2024 05:38

Thanks to whoever said about the Amazon wine . 2 boxes arrived!

I've only got 20% off so I assume it might time or account specific. I was going to grab a couple for DCs

I can’t recommend either as I don’t have either but QVC always do a deal on the Velvetiser before Christmas. If you run a search on the Christmas boards I am sure you’ll find it from 2023. They usually do the machine, cups and chocolate. Price wise though I can’t recall. You’ll get cashback on too from the usual places.

The best ones I have found are neom. All the others just smell chemically. Neon have Black Friday on now and someone else said TK max sometimes have them.

The Velvetiser is excellent and heavily used in our house. If you join the Hotel Chocolat VIP Club you can get £30 off the price - so it's then £79 for Velvetiser + hot chocolate sachets + 4 cups.

BOGO free on Joga shin pads if they’re on anyone’s list. Very expensive on there own but if you had two to buy for this deal makes it a bit more palatable.

Iggi999 · 18/11/2024 07:04

I bought the powerbank last night (thanks for tip!) but have checked this morning and although discounted, it's not by as much.

Prettypinkponies · 18/11/2024 07:05

Ladybaga · 17/11/2024 21:02

Do Dunelm ever do discount codes? I need to buy a very un-Christmassey sofa bed!

If you can wait until after Christmas, last year they had 25% off everything in the new year.

bizzey · 18/11/2024 07:12

£16.70 power bank at the moment.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 18/11/2024 07:12

@Ladybaga have you checked Wayfair? There's some sofa beds reduced atm.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 18/11/2024 07:21

I have a £7 off a £75 spend at Argos, if you'd like it pm me

For those ordering from Victoria Beckham Beauty, code WITHWHIT takes 20% off instead of the 15% code

BatshitCrazyWoman · 18/11/2024 07:29

I'm looking for some 'nice' plain black men's socks - I mean I could go to M&S but wondered if there's anywhere else anyone would recommend?

Not exciting at all, I know 😂
