Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@PersisFord re presents for gardeners, I always do some form of garden visit for my parents. Successful ones have included Sarah Raven’s garden Perch Hill, and (absolutely not a bargain) vouchers for a tour of the garden at Highgrove.

Highgrove in particular was a smash hit, and the vouchers came in a gorgeous presentation box. Parental happiness made the eye watering cost worth it…

I wear lined in the autumn/winter and not lined in the spring and summer so he would probably get west out of either.

He’s got a summer birthday so if he gets on with them 😂

i was looking at the unlined ones thinking the mud might squelch through the sides 😬😬

@MadeForThis the works have their own version of operation if you're not set on having the official version

the works also have 3 for £12 instead of 3 for £15 currently

One of our favourite games was hungry hungry puppies

still talked about by the teens now

Has anyone used Shein and can confirm it's a genuine site? Is it a bit like Temu etc with safety issues and long delivery times or a bit better? Thanks.

I've used it a few times. Delivery is faster and I would say it's more reliable and less spammy than Temu.

If you are expecting premium quality and next day delivery it's not for you. If you are ok with a week or two delivery and items that last anywhere from 1 season to 2-3 years it's fab.

My swim suits from there, bought 2y ago are still stunning.

I’ve used shein quite a lot. Infact got a delivery due today! Managed to find some pug slippers on there for me 😂

pasinphoebe · 21/11/2024 13:54

Instax sq6 (so full size not mini) down to £89.99 on amazon at the moment. I don’t think it’s ever been down that low recently.

I'd love to get dd the operation game. But I'd love not to have to pay £20 for it.

Can everyone keep an eye out in case it moves to a cheaper price?

Thanks

Would you consider second hand or charity shops? I've picked up Monopoly really cheaply and a free Pop Up Pirate in the past!

Shein has been around longer than Temu. Definitely ok.

Ten Hotel Chocolat selectors on qvc for 36 pounds. Five off for new customers. I think they are 14 pounds for 3 in shop now.

Croc wearers
i could do with some advice please. Dh’s first pair. Lines or not lined?
thank you!

Unlined! More versatile and also the little bumps on the sole feel like a foot massage! 😊 plus if you get sweaty feet the fluff will stink 🤢

Has anyone seen this mama and papas hat anywhere. Sold out online. For a friend who is expecting her 1st baby on boxing day. Got outfit but cant find matching hat

Just to say so you don’t waste your money / If she isn’t due until Boxing Day - and goes over she will have a new year baby making the gift a bit useless - won’t fit next year for their first Christmas either.

IlovePond · 21/11/2024 14:10

@BourbonsAreOverated - also unlined crocs can be popped in the washing machine on low.

Desperately in search of post!
My LO is obsessed with the you tuber Moriah Elizabeth.
We have 7 out of 8 of the mystery figures (not the plushies) but can't find a Rosie (butterfly hippo looking thing) .
I've seen one on ebay for £19.99 plus p&p but am loathe to pay that for a £5 tiny figure. The only other option is to waste money on the blind bags getting duplicates until I find it.
If anyone sees an opened Rosie for a reasonable price or even has a child who's a collector and has a duplicate you're willing to sell I'll be forever grateful!

Forbidden planet and I think hmv also sell these and you can quite easily identify the figures by feeling the packs. Me and dd spent ages feeling for the duck and definitely felt the hippo butterfly thing a few times!

I feel your pain, dd1 loves a blind bag and we spend ALOT of time feeling demon slayer and various other anime themed bag clips in Forbidden planet and hmv 😂 and sorry to say she's 16 and has yet to outgrow a love of a blind bag in any form 🙈

Some blind boxes you can guess by the weight and we often took scales out when buying them 😂 we noted the weights to avoid duplicates. This worked with some funko series and lol dolls! The FNAF funkos dd needs now are £70+ per tiny figure which i refuse to pay!!

Lego minifigures now have codes so you can tell which help you identify the figure!

I hope this helps someone else who buys minifigures!

It's slightly cheaper in B&M at the moment, I think £25. Easy to return if price suddenly drops on Amazon.

Oo is it, thanks I will see if ours has it!

fishfingersandchipsagain · 21/11/2024 12:02

@SootspriteSearcher It’s back until tomorrow. Code BLACKFRIDAY50.

It says “just got subscribers” but I am sure there is no check, and if there is just subscribe to their emails.

(great username BTW!)

Thank you!! I had forgotten the code will put my order in now and hope they don't do a better offer 🫣

Thanks! I am obsessed with studio ghibli especially totoro and soot sprites, I have one tattooed on my wrist which makes me v happy whenever I look at it! 😂

CocoPlum · 21/11/2024 14:30

Kind Patches are 4 for 2 as a BF offer. Never used them but first heard of them on this thread last year as posters were getting them as stocking fillers for teens.

Missed the Ariana Grande cracker at £14, if it drops again please let us know 🤞🏻

Interactive Hedwig at best price of £27.50

Sadly it was a camel camel camel alert I set last year, not this year!

You're clearly an expert 😂 I think I'm going to have to sacrifice my dignity and lurk around feeling up bags!
