Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

AMAZON:

Various BandAI Tamagotchis down to £11.99-£13.00 (usually £20)
If your child is not bothered about it being a genuine Tamagotchi, you can get off brand ones from Home Bargains, Tesco Xmas stocking stuffers aisle, or B&M. I think I paid about £4 for one for my child from HB, and it was exactly like the one I had in the 90s, worked great.

Taco Cat Goat Pizza game is £7.20

Do we think the harper Collins 50% off will come back or is 40% the best it's going to be! I forgot to check out a few books for dd2 🙈

@SootspriteSearcher It’s back until tomorrow. Code BLACKFRIDAY50.

It says “just got subscribers” but I am sure there is no check, and if there is just subscribe to their emails.

(great username BTW!)

Definitely lined at this time of year! Very snuggly and warm (when worn with socks too of course)

That’s what I was thinking. Thank you

I8toys · 21/11/2024 10:56

Got quite a few things from Amazon today -
Hue & Clues Game
Carhartt bag for DS2
Diesel tattoo aftershave for DS2
Neom handwash
OPI wicked nail varnish
Loop 2 experience ear plugs for DH

Added somethings to subscribe and save to get even more off. No idea if they are cheaper but they have dropped in price from my wish list.

@I8toys thanks for the heads up on Loops. I’ve been dithering for a while and have an event coming up so ordered some.

Amusingly it also recommended most of your list as “often purchased with” 😄

Croc wearers
i could do with some advice please. Dh’s first pair. Lines or not lined?
thank you!

I wear lined in the autumn/winter and not lined in the spring and summer so he would probably get west out of either.

Blokus is a great family game and £13.99 on Amazon. 14 year old DS likes it and so does 8 year old DC. Fun for adults too.

Thank you, I have ordered one!

I had 2 other games sitting in my Amazon basket hoping for a reduction and they were both discounted, so I'm very pleased. Just need a couple of escape room games now.

These are the games I ordered (can't vouch for them as haven't played them):

The Worst Case Scenario Card Game - £11.99
Bad People - £12.50

https://www.toystreet.co.uk/product/classic-operation-2/

I can vouch for ToyStreet - got a bargain Hot Wheels truck from there a few months ago without any issues, and £10 cheaper than I've seen anywhere else sincd!

N96 · 21/11/2024 12:52

Hot Wheels Monster Truck Mega Wrex half price on Amazon £29.99

BadgerFace · 21/11/2024 12:53

Desperately in search of post!
My LO is obsessed with the you tuber Moriah Elizabeth.
We have 7 out of 8 of the mystery figures (not the plushies) but can't find a Rosie (butterfly hippo looking thing) .
I've seen one on ebay for £19.99 plus p&p but am loathe to pay that for a £5 tiny figure. The only other option is to waste money on the blind bags getting duplicates until I find it.
If anyone sees an opened Rosie for a reasonable price or even has a child who's a collector and has a duplicate you're willing to sell I'll be forever grateful!

I remember those days. It's really unfair and they should somehow have a code where parents can figure out what's in it. Obviously they don't as they make lots of money this way.

A couple of times I bought dd2 2 or 3 LOL dolls for Christmas or Birthdays and I'd hope they weren't the same 😬😬

There were lots of LOL swap groups on Facebook. We weren't that obsessed to be honest she had about 20 but is there anything similar?

YorkshireFelix · 21/11/2024 13:20

Was IRL shopping today and Claire's have 40% off all plushies including Hello Kitty and Palm Pals for those who collect them!

These are sold instore at Asda and Smyths so you can feel the bags and work who is in it before you buy them. I spent too long feeling bags to get the ones my DD wanted!
