Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Dissapointed no reduction on family edition of cards against humanity on Amazon! Those who recommended it, I see you can get American or UK versions of the normal edition, is the family one just one version? It seems to be but hoping someone can confirm.. it's cheaper on ebay I might just get it there if they are all the same.. TIA

Does anyone have any recommendations for 7-8 year old boys? I have no idea what they like at this age, thank you :)

-Lego is generally the safest option and fits any budget
-Treasure X
-Mr. Beast Lab stuff
-Football/ Pokémon cards are popular but worth checking with the parents first
-Bakugan
-Super things / super zings
-Terror fried boxes / bucket
-Magic set
-Practical joke set (fake poo, etc.)
-Most have a favourite video game that they like the toys for, again you'd need to check with the parents though, popular ones are, mario, Minecraft, Roblox, Pokémon

It's slightly cheaper in B&M at the moment, I think £25. Easy to return if price suddenly drops on Amazon.

HUGE thank you for the heads up on Lego Dobby Grin

MadeForThis · 21/11/2024 10:51

I'd love to get dd the operation game. But I'd love not to have to pay £20 for it.

Can everyone keep an eye out in case it moves to a cheaper price?

Thanks

Definitely lined at this time of year! Very snuggly and warm (when worn with socks too of course)

Got quite a few things from Amazon today -
Hue & Clues Game
Carhartt bag for DS2
Diesel tattoo aftershave for DS2
Neom handwash
OPI wicked nail varnish
Loop 2 experience ear plugs for DH

Added somethings to subscribe and save to get even more off. No idea if they are cheaper but they have dropped in price from my wish list.

Clucket87 · 21/11/2024 10:58

Desperately in search of post!
My LO is obsessed with the you tuber Moriah Elizabeth.
We have 7 out of 8 of the mystery figures (not the plushies) but can't find a Rosie (butterfly hippo looking thing) .
I've seen one on ebay for £19.99 plus p&p but am loathe to pay that for a £5 tiny figure. The only other option is to waste money on the blind bags getting duplicates until I find it.
If anyone sees an opened Rosie for a reasonable price or even has a child who's a collector and has a duplicate you're willing to sell I'll be forever grateful!

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 21/11/2024 11:20

Chivas Scotch whisky blending kit has a few £ off from Amazon. £16.99, and part of the Black Friday offer/price promise.

Have had this in my basket for a while for DDad and DH, so ordered 2.
