Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Laithwaites have £20 back with a £50 spend through Quidco.

I bought this Kew Gardens set which went down to £26 in my basket. Not sure why!

I've just bought a Tonies bundle from Smyths. £99.99 for the box and 4 figures goes down to £89.99 with their BF £10 off £100 spend. I didn't need to add anything to it. I've checked other websites and that was the best deal at the moment

@ItWasTheBestOfTimes any chance you are near Putney? They had Uma in stock in their independent toy shop.

I'm near Putney - can pop in tomorrow if that helps?

@ItWasTheBestOfTimes is this what you’re looking for? doll

Ooooh - 5.50 euros for delivery looks like. Probs what you'd pay anywhere else close enough?

Just a warning on this one that according to a review it states that Santa and Rudolph aren’t real. I almost bought it as my DS loves the Horrible History books, but he still believes!

Did you use the new customer code (30OFF)? I am cheekily trying to figure out if it was that, or something else that might stack 😄

No! I just clicked through from Quidco. And I checked if there was a voucher code added but didn’t seem to be anything there. I’ve ordered before so not a new customer.

workworkwork123 · 21/11/2024 08:34

20% off knitwear at matalan using code DEAL or I have a barcode voucher to use in store if it is of use to anyone

Lurleene · 21/11/2024 08:45

Tesco have some lovely Christmas themed bags for life this year. They would make great gift bags / hampers and could be reused year after year.

I think you might just be a lucky duck 😅

I can’t replicate it, and am quite jealous!

Thanks for the warning. I'll keep it back for another Christmas. Our believing years are nearly over.

ReindeerAndChristmasCheer · 21/11/2024 09:15

Does anyone have any recommendations for 7-8 year old boys? I have no idea what they like at this age, thank you :)

Webbb · 21/11/2024 09:17

Not sure wether to check out my amazon basket yet, or hold out hope it might get cheaper as the week goes on. What a gamble!

Sonyo · 21/11/2024 09:22

@Webbb I believe Amazon refund you the difference if items go cheaper and you've already bought them

SootspriteSearcher · 21/11/2024 09:33

Do we think the harper Collins 50% off will come back or is 40% the best it's going to be! I forgot to check out a few books for dd2 🙈

Thanks @Carrie76 yes that was 1 of 2 styles that seem to be sold out everywhere here, thanks so much.

I have a £10 off Argos £100 spend if anyone wants it, runs out 24th November.

mummymilkfloat · 21/11/2024 07:40

@BlueDitty1 i bought this one almost exactly a year ago for my daughter, it’s still a hit and is cheaper now than when I bought it!

I would recommend getting some extra colour filaments to go in, we have these, not sure how good value they are but it was nice to give them together and they’ve worked well

amzn.eu/d/3No2RMM

Thank you, I saw that this morning so great to have a personal recommendation, I think it will be a hit.

I'm dithering too! Only a couple of bits in my basket have reduced, and some have gone up، so I don't think I'd end up savings anything at the moment!

Amazon have the filtering on their customer service page....

If you purchase a product with the Black Friday badge sold by Amazon from 21 November to 2 December and the price drops further before 23:59 GMT on 9 December, we'll automatically refund the difference! We’ll notify you when we process your refund

Wow! I didn't know this and it's very very good.
