Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Not exactly barginous but Totter and Tumble have a black Friday sale on playmats that don't look like playmats but honestly it is potentially my favourite house item if you have kiddos (not even small kiddos, just ones that like playing wrestling, cars, building blocks!) They are comfy and warm for hard floors!

Has anyone used a company called winstanleys bikes before? The bike DD is after is at least £40 cheaper on there compared to everywhere else

IamChipmunk · 20/11/2024 19:19

Just on the topic of Amazon. If you buy something on a Black Friday deal and it drops further during the Black Fri offer times, Amazon usually automatically refund you the difference.

They will also have different deals on throughout the period so worth keeping checking.

I have loads in my basket and have set my alarm early tomorrow to hopefully get some of it on deals.

Yes, I bought an e-bike from them a few months ago. Excellent customer service before and after purchase, would definitely recommend.

I've got a code to get one of the four pictured Oh Deer papergang box for £2 plus postage. Let me know if you would like it.

Hi if you still have the code I would be very grateful1 4 threads behind due to illness so sorry if it’s already been taken!

We've bought a balance bike from there a while ago - no issues!

Morning all, could anyone please recommend a dishwasher proof, non leaking/spillable, insulated coffee cup? I’ve looked at Chilly’s but the reviews say they aren’t spill proof and some of the thermos type ones aren’t dishwasher safe.

I might be a bit late now but I highly recommend yeti coffee cups. I've fallen in love with the brand since they are dishwasher proof and they keep my coffee hot for hours.

Sorry took ages to get back on here, work has been busy and the thread moves so fast! Glad that others have helped signpost the star wars mug 😃

BeaLola · 20/11/2024 19:50

Sincere apologies if this has been mentioned - I'm not up to date with these threads and am also. I fed up with flu.

I was sent an email (I have Amazon prime) saying£15 off eligible £30+ spends on Amazon during BFriday event if I downloaded the App and placed an order - I think there are 15000 codes.

Well I went on tonight and ordered my DS16 Nike airforce 1 (which Nike don't allow their 25% off code against) and got them for £83

Is anyone else stalking traditional BF offers on Amazon and elsewhere? I'm after a Karcher window vac. It's currently a decent price (the V2 one) with accessories on Amazon at £47.99 but I'm going to hang on in case it drops further after midnight.

Also after the Intax SQ40. Ideally, I wanted to buy it today for DDs birthday tomorrow. I think I'm going to risk it as I'm expecting it to drop tomorrow. I'm sure DD wouldn't mind an 'extra' present a day or two late.

It feels like the calm before the storm!!

I got a Karcher Window Vac WV2 for £45 a couple of weeks ago from Toolstation plus free delivery here It's great!

That’s a great price. I already have the app so wouldn’t be eligible I don’t think. I did manage to get DS13 men’s Nike air force 1s for £65ish on Vinted brand new. He’s in a size 10.5/11 mens! So glad I managed to find them on there as everywhere else they are £110

HopefulBeliever · 20/11/2024 20:08

Niche ask from my DM - a hot water bottle that has a smooth side (not ridged both sides) and ‘interesting gadgets’ for my DB for cooking and DIY 🤷‍♀️
Help please!

Can anyone help with an apron for a man please.. My bother in law would like an apron for when he’s cooking. It needs to be pvc/oilcloth (not cotton). The designs I’ve seen are all a bit girly!

Have you checked Etsy?

This style looks nice

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho it was £2.99 for the red one, not the black one.
Hope that helps. Xx

Thank you,I was jealous of you all with the blue ones! Didn't realise it was red, thank you!

Bippityboppitybooo · 20/11/2024 20:14

No one has mentioned yet that George asda have some black friday 'wow' prices on kids pjs. Not sure how far it extends...

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 20/11/2024 20:18

I have confused myself, easily done!
So I thought black friday was this Friday due to the amount of emails I've had. After a Google, it's next Friday. Reading the last few posts on here and posters have mentioned about deals from tomorrow. Just gone on to Amazon and it's black Friday WEEK?!?! Has it always been a week or is this a new thing?!

I had some for DS in men’s section £10 and for DD £5 in kids section. Not sure whether it’s online? This was in my local Asda

hugsandpugs · 20/11/2024 20:21

I’ve been holding off buying DS and DD a new bike to wait for Black Friday but thinking they may not even come down in price? Anyone had any experience with bikes around Black Friday?

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 20/11/2024 20:59

I’m having a major paddy/flap. I spent £120 on mountain warehouse 2 days ago and didn’t use a code. I could rebuy and take back the originals but I don’t really have the money spare to rebuy but I am struggling with such a waste of money. I emailed. They gave zero festive f**ks. No point to this. Just a self pity post. As you were

Crackersnap · 20/11/2024 21:04

@HopefulBeliever I got two hot water bottles from superdrug last winter and they both have a ridged side and a smooth side. Sorry for the long link but it was these ones.

Hi. I’m looking for some more help please!
A very dear friend has been talking about a set of rituals hand wash and hand balm she was bought (m’gouna rose). She has been stretching it out and I’d love to buy her more. I have googled and that seems to be an old set.
I think any nice scent would be ok. Next has violet. It’s just so expensive though - £30 for both. I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere it would be a bit cheaper.

Cannot find the head torch beanie on mountain warehouse at all 🙁 such as shame as DS1 was only asking for one the other day

If you have a Mountain Watehouse store near you, I got one in there today after seeing them on here.

They were marked at £12.99, reduced to £4.99 at checkout but I showed online they were priced at £2.99 and they reduced them to that. Also just the red ones, for my 2 boys stockings 😊

It’s been getting gradually longer each year 😂

Not that we should even have Black Friday - it’s an American thing! Traditionally the day after thanksgiving. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@nicky2512 is this any use? https://www.johnlewis.com/brand/rituals/hand-wash/_/N-1z13ypiZ1z0r1l9
