Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

 • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
 • No affiliate links
 • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
 • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Interesting Xmas gift lists in the Guardian today, apparently created by kids, which might be useful:

https://www.theguardian.com/thefilter/2024/nov/16/best-christmas-gifts-tweens-presents-ideas-slime-jellycat-toys

https://www.theguardian.com/thefilter/2024/nov/16/best-christmas-gifts-kids-teenagers-lego-fashion-beauty-adidas-trainers

Couple of weird ones - I don’t really think the writers should have left ‘a puppy’ in the tweens list, and the inclusion of block shoes in the teenagers list is very specific. (Let’s hope no one tries buying them for a non dancer!)

Apart from that, they might be useful. I was interested to see a projector made one list, given the recent discussion on here.

Definitely written by kids, my daughter is in this list 😂 she suggested the Victoria’s Secret pajamas! They went to their high school and we had to give permission and everything 😁

Anyone help please?

My Secret Santa recipient is very Crafty, loves felting etc and I don't have a clue. Can anyone recommend a gift for about £10 not for a beginner.

Thank you

How about something like this from backstitch:

Morning all, could anyone please recommend a dishwasher proof, non leaking/spillable, insulated coffee cup? I’ve looked at Chilly’s but the reviews say they aren’t spill proof and some of the thermos type ones aren’t dishwasher safe.

Contigo tops can go in the dishwasher but not the main part- but otherwise meet your requirements edited for spelling

The entertainer have an extra 10% off all click and collect orders with code EXTRA10 Should work on the already reduced items!

I've used it on an Elf and a Gremlins fuggler for dd1! We are going to have fug in a mug this year in addition to the current elf on the shelf family 🤣

Morning! Does anyone know if Long Tall Sally participate in Black Friday? I'm holding out for a dressing gown / robe but hoping (praying) for a discount.

I don’t know about Black Friday but you can buy LTS at Next, Debenhams and Dorothy Perkins as well so hopefully you will get lucky with one of them!

If anyone can make use of a £2 gift card to Sainsbury's (from my Vodafone rewards) let me know. I don't tend to shop there. It has 10 days to be used.

Would I be able to have this please? It’s my
sons birthday at the weekend and I have an abundance of party food to buy!

YeahWellWhyNot · 20/11/2024 13:28

Can I ask about Rubik's cubes? It's on my ds must have list. He's only 7, v.little concept of brands. I picked up a cheap version for a £1/2 to put in his stocking, which means it's also out of the packaging (stocking gifts have no packaging a see theyre from the elves) but now wondering if I should have bought the real deal, but they're like £15+ does anyone know if there is a massive difference and it's worth shelling out for. I don't want him to be disappointed

Those mountain warehouse beanies ... how large are they?

I was thinking of a kids one for DD who would is 16 but tends to find adult hats drown her - donkey tend to be small fitting?

Likewise one for DH (an adults one ) who also has a pea head ... how snug do the adult ones fit?

We're > fingers crossed < getting a puppy in the new year and these would make fab gifts ready for walks on cold dark nights

Hi, DS is a huge RC fan.
The very cheap ones will be very stiff and sticky. The proper ones are lovely to handle and really smooth and lovely to play with. Sensory as well as a puzzle.
You do have to learn an algorithm to solve a RC. 7 might be a bit young.
So if it’s just a bit of tat then don’t worry but a really nice RC is a thing of joy to handle.

Ordered the beanie which will be so handy as son needs one for cubs in a few weeks. £2.39 delivered, wow!

Clucket87 · 20/11/2024 14:13

Hat and a torch ordered. Thank you as that's another 2 sticking fillers that aren't just plastic tat and have a purpose! Xx

WimbyAce · 20/11/2024 14:15

Thanks for the MW code. Was just putting in an order using BLC 15% so this one is better!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/11/2024 14:20

Is anyone else stalking traditional BF offers on Amazon and elsewhere? I'm after a Karcher window vac. It's currently a decent price (the V2 one) with accessories on Amazon at £47.99 but I'm going to hang on in case it drops further after midnight.

Also after the Intax SQ40. Ideally, I wanted to buy it today for DDs birthday tomorrow. I think I'm going to risk it as I'm expecting it to drop tomorrow. I'm sure DD wouldn't mind an 'extra' present a day or two late.

It feels like the calm before the storm!!

Thanks! Just grabbed these for my DS2's stocking. Sadly I don't think I'll find too many bargains for DS1's main gift (he's getting a snake!)

Thank you to the poster who said they were adding a scrapbook with the Gofunly camera, I have copied that idea. I got overwhelmed trying to see what price was best with so much choice but on Amazon the pink album here has a further 15% off if you tick the box, making it £5.94 once you get to check out which I thought was reasonable. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CWQ9TDD5

Also, the Christmas Lottie Brooks is £4 on Amazon (was £6)
Hving both delivered to a locker for just under £10

If she’s a keen felter, chances are she already has all the kit. This site has lovely wool. They have Woolly Wednesday, where there are extra offers.

That’s an example, but there are lots of lovely other colours and fibres too.

The Phoenix Collection Bundle

Fibre crafting with sustainable fibres. The Phoenix Collection is a blend of recycled wool & recycled sari silk, creating a spinning, felting and crafting mix with tons of character & texture. 6 x 50g colourways
