Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Help,.oh wise ones. After many years of very simple chocolate advent calendars, I splashed out and treated my DH, DD and DS. All good, but I ordered a Raspberry Pi one for my son and now it's arrived it's only 12 days not 24 like everyone else's 🙈 How do I present the fact he's only got a door every two days?

Buy a cheap chocolate one too?

@Jedstre

Would a sloth one work:

Sloth Apron - at sale price!

They also have a cat one, a dog one and one with baking accessories, although dearer.

Can anyone help with an apron for a man please.. My bother in law would like an apron for when he’s cooking. It needs to be pvc/oilcloth (not cotton). The designs I’ve seen are all a bit girly!

My bother in law would like an apron

I know it was a typo, but this did make me smile 😀. I’m sure many would prefer this name for their relative!

For those of you purchasing the Emmeline Pankhurst mice I also recommend decorations from Bookishly - another small indie company with great ethics. It may be worth waiting till Friday as they often do Black Friday offers. My sister loved her decoration last year.

If anyone can make use of a £2 gift card to Sainsbury's (from my Vodafone rewards) let me know. I don't tend to shop there. It has 10 days to be used.

bluestripecar · 20/11/2024 09:59

Morning all, could anyone please recommend a dishwasher proof, non leaking/spillable, insulated coffee cup? I’ve looked at Chilly’s but the reviews say they aren’t spill proof and some of the thermos type ones aren’t dishwasher safe.

Fuckingfuckssake · 20/11/2024 10:13

Do you want it to have a handle?

If you're not fussed, Contigo are great for the travel coffee cup type with no handle. Keep the drink hot/cold and don't leak.

WhereTheresAHill · 20/11/2024 10:26

@Summertime1992 yes please if still available!

bluestripecar · 20/11/2024 10:27

@Allthingspeaches No handle required, I shall look them up. Thank you.

Love those decorations ... can I ask - is it a set of three? It don't give an option to choose one and says "decorations " plural so I'm assuming so?
