Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

When I was in Turkey, apple tea was very popular and yes, it was a powder, which was just added to hot water and served in a little glass. It's customary to be offered it and even shopkeepers will offer it. I find it quite sweet.

Thank you - I think I might have to get a few different bits then: powder, bags and loose!

BF10 gives 10% off at Just My Look. I've bought from them before and they're legitimate. Their prices are already good for lots of things.

Look Fantastic and Amazon both have the Revolution make up advent calendar in stock at half price, £24. DD was looking at this in Boots at the weekend and it looked great.

if you order from Look Fantastic as a new customer you could also use the referral link to get £10 off a £25 spend making the calendar a bit of a bargain. Here’s the link to the referral thread:

Edited

I bought this last time the price dropped and DD (14) and I have really enjoyed playing it. It's very quick to learn, set up and play.

It's nice to find games that can be played with just 2 players, although I think it'll be even better with more people.

We also bought the Game of Cat and Mouth from Bargainmax which was recommended here (https://www.bargainmax.co.uk/a-game-of-cat-and-mouth-board-game.html) Fantastic fun and still excellent value at £10 (I think we paid £8 with a discount code, but it's fantastic value at either price).

EDITED to add that I can see Bargainmax are doing 20% off again for Black Friday with code JOY so you should be able to get the game for £8 again.

Sealskinz are the absolute vest imo. There will be plenty of offers from outdoor places and on Amazon in the next few days as they always drop for BF. I used to work in an outdoors shop and everyone swore by them. Used to get a lot of oul rig workers buying. (the rep used to come in and stand in a big bowl of iced water for hours with their thermal waterproof socks on)

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 19/11/2024 07:57

@pinkchampagne1
Thanks, I’ve gone and ordered along with the cream. I’m really looking forward to trying them.

mumonthehill · 19/11/2024 07:58

SportPursuut currently have sealskin gloves on offer if that helps.

hby9628 · 19/11/2024 08:18

Some great bits on boots today. First week I've been impressed! I've got some points to spend so going to grab a no7 skincare set for my mum as an extra gift.
