Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Thanks for the milk frother (is that the word??) info. I think I'll leave it for now. I don't want to waste more money.

Revolution a/c down to £24 on LF.

juicyjellybaby · 18/11/2024 19:54

Does anyone know if Zara do anything for Black Friday or ever have codes?

IlovePond · 18/11/2024 20:01

LF a/c back in stock at LF. You can’t click to look at it, but can add to basket. I got as far as payment, (before I reminded myself not to buy anymore and logged out), so it should work.

SpicyNikNak · 18/11/2024 20:07

Whittards of Chelsea have a couple of gift sets in their Black Friday sale and Accessorize have started theirs with lots 50% off

jocktamsonsbairn · 18/11/2024 20:30

@lifelongfrugaleer if you remember the name of the mobility supplier for the socks for swollen legs can you pop it on her please? Apologies if you already have!

jocktamsonsbairn · 18/11/2024 20:33

Apologies! Have now just seen the link!! Been one of those days!

Rescue2024 · 18/11/2024 20:35

I’m hoping to find some copper wall art if anyone can help point me in the right direction please?

Thelifeofawife · 18/11/2024 20:36

@IlovePond you make me chuckle. I admire your discipline, I have bought far more than I could possibly need, I have to stop myself from even looking on the websites now because if I do it’s pretty much guaranteed that I’ll buy it!

IlovePond · 18/11/2024 20:46

Thanks @Thelifeofawife 😹 I shall cling to the shreds of my self discipline and hopefully not fall for the very good EL ANR serum offer on atm🙀

I agree that I too need to stop clicking on bargains. ELF was a recent case in point, (although at least those items were cheap and I’m gifting a couple of the things I bought!)

Wonder if anyone has any ideas where I can look....

My teen son is really into his fragrances and has a little collection going. I thought a good gift for him would be to get the shower gels and deodorant sprays or any other toiletries that match his fragrances so he can "layer the scent".

However, these seem quite hard to source and quite pricey. Anyone know of a relatively bargainous way of sourcing these things? Thanks.

What fragrances is he into?

I can’t speak for it myself. But my extra fussy DFriend LOVES her satin Kayla eyeliners and raves about the brightening eye pencil ad would say its worth it it definitely

To balance it out I find them over rated. I would happily pay the full £32 if I thought they were worth it
I have drier to normal skin and they smudge. There are so many other brands I prefer. I used my VB kohl pencil to draw skeleton faces for Halloween. Ideal !

I8toys · 18/11/2024 14:10

Notino - is it a legit site? I've never heard of it until recently

Apparently it is - Lots of people here have bought from there in the past without any problems

Thelifeofawife · 18/11/2024 21:39

@I8toys I’ve used Notino many times following a recommendation on here a couple of years ago. I’ve had no issues with any of my orders

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/11/2024 21:41

@I8toys I had my second delivery from Notino this week (perfume sample sets) and it was well packaged and all as pictured.

Thelifeofawife · 18/11/2024 21:42

@IlovePond I think the ELF deal was too good to miss. I got a lot of things for £20, most of which are for gifts and it’s meant I’ve come in under budget for a couple of people.
So of course with my great savings I’ve somehow justified my excessive spending in other areas

IlovePond · 18/11/2024 22:03

It was good @Thelifeofawife and they’ve given me lots of points to encourage me to order more🙀! (That’s how they got me last time…)

unclebuck · 18/11/2024 22:09

I want to get a cocktail shaker for my son, has anyone seen a really nice one at a good price? :) Thank you!

onedayatatime73 · 18/11/2024 22:11

tootsnwoocake · 18/11/2024 19:33

Does anyone have a discount/student code for LuluLemon please?

Do they ever do any Black Friday deals? DD has her eye on one of the water bottles but they are £38 so any discount at all would be much appreciated. Thank you

My DD wants lots of Lulu too. She can't afford it. So I've bought it all from Vinted x

OohShakiraShakira · 18/11/2024 22:15

He's got:
versace dylan blue
versace eros flame
azzaro the most wanted parfum
Jean paul gaultier le male le parfum

PersisFord · 18/11/2024 22:27

I got loads of VB eyeliners for my birthday and love them....but I am finding myself reaching for others recently.....they just don't last on me.

I've ordered football kits from soccer04 and the lovely beanbag, so am getting off to a good start.....am waiting for the family secret santa allocations so I know who I actually have to buy for!

Any thoughts for my in laws? Both LOVE gardening but have all the plants etc they could need. I thought maybe some nicer versions of things like secateurs but I am pretty clueless....

unclebuck · 18/11/2024 22:29

I am also thinking about a Shark curler for DD - has anyone used one? Are they worth it compared to a £50 one?

Elphaba17 · 18/11/2024 22:40

Thank you all for the VB feedback. I think I’ve talked myself out of it for now as I’ve bought too much recently but will keep an eye on the site for future offers.

I’ve asked on the new thread but does anyone have an Argos code for a £45/£50 spend please?

BrieCamera · 18/11/2024 22:59

Does anyone know anything about Turkish tea? Had a request for a present based on having Turkish apple tea in Türkiye which he enjoyed and then more recently on another holiday in a restaurant having a honey, ginger and something else flavoured tea. I’m a bit confused though as I’ve found apple tea powders - does that just dissolve in hot water so no need for a teapot? Would the other flavour be loose leaf so does need a tea pot? Then I’ve also found tea bags? Not sure what to get so if anyone has any experience or recommendations I’d be really grateful!
