Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Morning!

Can anyone recommend a microphone for 5 year old girl please?

She’s not so bothered about singing into it, more just wants one that is loud so she can shout orders out to everyone.

Thank you for any help x

My DD got this for her birthday last year but it is a hit even with her cousins who go up to 13yo - currently on offer in the entertainer for £13.99

Can't remember who was looking for cuddle chairs after missing out on the Tesco offer but I've just seen them in our Lidl for £14.99

@psuedocream3 I thanked you at the very end of the last thread but I don't think you would have seen it.

For showing me where to get Amazon promotions.

Thank you 🙏🏻

I would be grateful for some recommendations for cashmere fingerless gloves but not from Turtle Doves as whenever I have ordered from them, I never receive quite the colour I want. Also looking for a messenger/laptop bag for my DH. I tried looking in physical shops but not many sell them and online is difficult to judge the quality. He would prefer something not too bulky/wide and also with a luggage strap so to use on business trips. Thank you.

I got my husband a leather one from fossil last year. They usually have good prices around Black Friday with further reductions on their outlet etc

Apologies if it’s already been mentioned but John Lewis have save £10 when buyin 2 items from the CRIMPit range.

We bought these for Teens last year and they LOVED them

Crimpit have buy one get one free on their own site at the moment. Would work out a wee bit cheaper I think.

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a really good microwave hot water bottle or an electric one, it's for an elderly relative who struggles with arthritis in her hands, thank you ❄❄

They still stock the Apothecary oils in the big M&S stores but they’re not always with the candles. Our big M&S has a special apothecary display in toiletries which includes them and seems to be the main place they’re put out!

Oh I wonder if I’ve been looking in the wrong place. I am partially sighted and to be honest if things aren’t in the expected place or in the same packaging then I can’t often see them. I will ask next time I’m in.

minerva7 · 18/11/2024 18:29

@PMAmostofthetime the post is near the end of the last thread. She has included several links to take you to promotions in your account. I don't know how to get to them on my own so best just to look at her post and go from there.

psuedocream3 · 18/11/2024 18:32

@minerva7 You're welcome, I've been trying to avoid these threads as I'm now finished with Christmas shopping, but I'm glad if it helped.

@PMAmostofthetime It was a headache trying to link it all. I've attached a screenshot with the web address as mumsnet keeps adding something weird to the link that stops it working.

Also £5 off £15 spend Link

And £3 off £10 collection point order Link

@BatshitCrazyWoman GANT do nice men's socks. Not particularly barginous but may be reduced in ASOS or JL sale. Not often I particularly rate men's socks but these do stay super soft after numerous trips in the washer/dryer.

I have a lovely rechargeable one from dunelm. Stays hot for a long time and heats up very quickly

Would she wear fingerless gloves also? I have raynards and suspected arthritis and live in fingerless gloves and find them invaluable (with the hot water bottle in my lap most days!)

applepinkierainbow · 18/11/2024 19:14

I am not sure the deals are quite as good as last year but if you are looking for Mario Lego Nintendo have some good Black Friday discounts. They also have some more unusual sets which I couldn't find elsewhere last year. Lego

doggybootcamp · 18/11/2024 19:15

I'm new here and very behind on shopping!
I'm looking for jelly cat soft toys and an electric shaver if anyone has seen any offfers anywhere. I need to work out exactly what I have to get but these are my current targets 🤔

Oreyt · 18/11/2024 19:18

Bough MIL the mini Ghost perfumes on Amazon for £20. Arrived today. Looks good.

Yes she has raynards too, she's got some children's artic gloves that are very thin but lovely and warm, she pretty much lives in them at this time of year, thanks for the suggestion.

Dolphintrainer · 18/11/2024 19:30

I’m sure we’ve now all got ample makeup from these threads, but in case not, here’s a link to the Ciate Black Friday sale. Interesting mystery boxes and collections!

tootsnwoocake · 18/11/2024 19:33

Does anyone have a discount/student code for LuluLemon please?

Do they ever do any Black Friday deals? DD has her eye on one of the water bottles but they are £38 so any discount at all would be much appreciated. Thank you

Celtic & Co £20off when you spend at least £20 is back
Code is KXMAS24

Awesome @Chocolateteabag been waiting for this to get myself some snuggly insoles for my slippers

@WhyDoesItAlways

So you have to buy the machine and flakes for £100 odd?

Mine only really have hot chocolate from November but maybe that's because that's when I generally clean it ready for Christmas 😬😬😬

Do people use them a lot? £100 though!!

Are you signed up to their loyalty scheme? I think I saw it for £70 if you were a member

Is anyone else having issues with the Bloom and Wild referral code? I've had a couple of people on the referrals thread say they've used mine, plus a couple of friends in real life who I know have used it, and while the first two (real life friends) came through fine, there's been nothing since (even though I saw someone with my own eyes use it this morning!).

Bloom and Wild said it might be that they've ordered something to arrive in the future (fair enough), and this might explain why sometimes I get nada by way of "a friend has used your code". However, it can't also explain why I sometimes get emails saying "someone has used your code - here's £10" and yet it doesn't apply to my account.

I've had something similar with QVC. Someone used my refer a friend code on the Elemis deal. Or so I thought. I got the email saying it had been used, and got sent a code. When I went to use it, it doesn't work.
I contacted QVC, and they wanted the name and email addy of the person who used it. Obviously, I don't know this, as it was a random stranger. Anyway, QVC said maybe the person clicked on the link, (which generated a code for me) but didn't actually purchase anything (which didn't activate the code)
