Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Personalised Giant love hearts for £1 + £3.90 postage with code GHL33

Just to make everyone aware, the code is wrong here (it should be: GLH33). I couldn’t understand why the code wouldn’t work, and why it was the wrong order for the initials of the item in question, so thought I would have a play around with it.

*Famousthehero *thank you for adding this code. I tried to get them last year, but my order was cancelled, so I’ve made up for it this time 😊.

Can anyone remind me of the thermal printer/sticky label deals? Thanks

Does anyone know anything about Polaroid/instax cameras (I don’t even know if they’re the same thing?). I think my dd would love a camera that prints instant photos but I haven’t got a clue where to start or what to look for. Thanks :)

Someone posted on one of these threads prevously about this camera, accompanied by a v cute test picture of their dog 🤣 which prompted me to order one for my DD - I haven’t opened mine yet but the op’s test pic looked really good, currently still has a 50% voucher which brings it down to £16.99 at checkout ☺️Camera link

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 09/11/2024 06:03

I have the pink JL sewing machine and it’s been great

Thanks for the link. When I click on the item it’s shows 50% off voucher applied at checkout but when I get to checkout it only takes £8 odd off. Any idea where I am going wrong please?

Ooh I’ve no idea sorry, I just went on again to see if I could add it to my basket but it isn’t showing the voucher at all for me now 🫣

Famousthehero · 09/11/2024 06:40

@HeartandSeoul i did wonder about the letters being in the wrong order! I didn’t buy any myself, so thanks for correcting :-)

Hi - I had two in my basket and had the same issue - I removed one from the basket and it worked (full discount) so I just placed two separate orders and it worked on both so maybe try just ordering the camera without additional items.

I’ve given up trying to get Hi Smile in a Home Bargains bricks and mortar shop, but I see they have it online too.

And since I would be buying 3, even with 3.95 postage it’s still cheaper for me to buy from HB than on Boots half price offer. (£10 for 3 including postage from HB, rather than £13.50 at boots).

BUT I can’t bring myself to checkout without making the most of the postage.

Im getting one of the Bum Bum Cream dupes. What else is good from Home Bargains?

I just wanted to say that when I went into home bargains yesterday I couldn’t see them and then as I went to give up I saw they were up on the top shelf, I’m only short so it was a tip toes and reaching job.

My usual buys from home bargains are boring but they might get your spend up - batteries, hay fever tablets, shampoo, hand and foot warmers (the ones in packets for about £1) they also have Christmas pj’s if that’s something you look for?

@Crackersnap for Nike, use a different email address for a new account, and I'm sure your birthday is in the next week isn't it? 😉

Hi all new to the site. Found this after spending weeks reading frugal Christmas things online and trying to save as much as possible as money is so tight this year. What a brilliant thread.

I'd like to recommend a site called health service discounts for any healthcare workers out there. Lots of discount codes for lots of different places.

Also would anyone know if Nike do black Friday discounts or am I better just paying full price in case the item goes out of stock before Christmas?

Nike are included in the cashback Rakuten deal. I ordered one half of an expensive tracksuit using the £25 cashcack deal and then referred hubby who bought the other half using his account and I got an additional £25 for referring him. Once the cashback clears a £125 tracksuit will have only cost £50. Worth looking at if you haven't already signed up.

@purplepandas I think it was yourself asking about bubble tea! Dd loves the boxes from bubble panda. We only ever buy when they are discounted but there’s a lovely choice of flavours.

I ended up going wild on skin and hair care, and then got some bargainous Posca pen dupes to round it off.

I also ended up ordering 3 and done the dog photo test and can confirm I’m surprised at how good they are. I’m predicting this as this years favourite present

kkr168 · 09/11/2024 09:41

@Serendipitystardust can you please keep me updated if the cashback becomes payable. I had planned to refer my husband but have read that it's only paid out once per address.

pinkchampagne1 · 09/11/2024 09:43

Olaplex are offering a free No 3 product worth £16 and a free sample with any order using the code PRESENT. I have just ordered the 50ml shampoo for £11 and also got the free No 3 gift and a 20ml sample of leave in conditioner

Ardagusdubh · 09/11/2024 10:00

@lingmerth thanks so much for the code! I just ordered a lovely heated throw for my mum 😀

What ages have you bought them for? I’ve got a 10 year and and 7 year old and they might like them…

Please can you link where you got it from. I missed it and can't seem to find it. Thank you.

I got him this plus 2 of the refill bags.

Dinosweetpea · 09/11/2024 10:12

Argh the camera offer has disappeared! I was going to order 2 but dithered too long 😢 Only 3% off now for me

InbetweenDreams · 09/11/2024 10:13

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin does it have speed settings or is it just a case of how hard you put your foot down? So far I have been turning the hand crank for my daughter while she guides the fabric to get her used to the process while making sure it’s safe, but I want her to be able to control it using the pedal as long it’s not too fast obviously.
