Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. Would anyone have an Argos code for a lesser spend? £30 or £40? Or does such a thing not exist?

I think the delivery time might depend in which kits you have ordered. I do feel a bit worried though!

@Stowickthevast I'm a complete newbie I'm afraid but my friend RAVED about it. I would have got one of the standard starter sets with a micro towel but DS prefers mousse to gel so I made a bundle with that instead.

My Clarins gift set that was on the thread has been dispatched from Amazo. Paid less than £21 on Amazon now at £48. Bought it for dd from grandson who wanted to buy bath bubbles for his Mama.

I wonder if you can help I’m looking for a big ticket item for a 7 year old around £100 - she already has a bike/ scooter/ yoto!
we are stuck she is into gymnastics and craft - any help appreciated thank you

If you'd go for gymnastics equipment, you could add one of these balance beams
My daughter has one, as it folds it's easy to store, and it's great quality, ours had lots of use and still as good as new

@Wishingiwastracytutor in what way is she crafty? A sewing machine might be good if you look for one aimed at kids (with slow speed settings). My eldest has been using one this year and she is 7.

I noticed in my local Boots store today they had Hi Smile toothpaste at half price. There were a few flavours available in the deal.

For the gymnast I'd recommend an air track or a bar for the garden. Both have been very popular with my DD.

so £4 now

Not sure if already posted but 1 litre Bailey's is £8.50 at Morrisons with a £45 spend. 1 per customer.

They had Bum Bum dupes in Home Bargains today for under £3 for a huge jar. (I should have got some to try!)

There were also red velvet stockings - no initials for about £4.
