Thread 9 - the one with a kink for L’Occitaine

Reastie · 04/11/2024 18:52

Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

If anyone has Wicked fans to buy for Superdrug have got a colour changing Dr Pawpaw lipbalm half price £2.49 https://www.superdrug.com/skin/face-skin-care/lip-care/lip-balms/dr-pawpaw-x-wicked-enchanting-lip-balm/p/846024?bundleReferral=p-bdl-846025-bdl A good stocking filler for my tween and got one for me too!

There is a Glinda pink one too but it doesn't colour change and a set of both. All half price. I couldn't find them and they turned out to be in front of the tills with the chewing gum bizarely!

I'm looking for the Gucci Flora Orchid (yellow bottle). Can anyone advise please on cheapest way to buy it? Thanks all!

Boots have money off it currently. Plus if you have an Advantage card there's a further 10% off a £25 spend. The offers will stack

Buying a ninja air fryer, think Argos is the best option- does anyone have a code? Spending about £120

I got mine from their eBay store when there was a boost via top cashback or Quidco

Clucket87 · 08/11/2024 14:44

Motor and her wrecking ball from rubble and crew are down to £7.99 on Amazon at the moment. X

TopThreeFTW · 08/11/2024 14:48

@mumonthehill I follow Finch Bakery, Cake Tin Bakery and Ruff Puff brownies (John Whaite's company) on Instagram. Can confirm all 3 deliver delish products.

IlovePond · 08/11/2024 15:02

@mummyof2boys30 JL have some reductions on hairdryers under BF deals, which stack with the £20 JL self care reward - if you have one of those.

Webbb · 08/11/2024 15:06

Went and collected the gaming headset stand, bargain for £5, thank you!

Also got the M&S bag for my nan and it's really lovely, the bits inside look fantastic and I think for £25 it really is a great bargain and gift.

Did go to Home Bargains for the HiSmile (DS loves them but I usually pay up to £10 a tube!!) but they didn't have any.

Wellwhoknewthat · 08/11/2024 15:12

@YeahWellWhyNot I don't think playmobil do a tudor ship, but there is an Airfix starter kit model of the Mary Rose. Not so much of a toy though.

hby9628 · 08/11/2024 15:15

I haven't smelt this fragrance but have tried other coach perfumes & they are nice. This has good reviews & seems a good price for 60ml. I'm tempted to get some

For some reason the extra 10% isn't showing for me, maybe it's account specific? Thank you for this, seems to be the cheapest place to buy anyway. Do I hold out though and see if anywhere else goes cheaper for black Friday?!

SpicyNikNak · 08/11/2024 15:37

I had to log in and then go to my Advantage card then add the offer @Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho but like you say if it's not there it might be account specific

chocolateisavegetable · 08/11/2024 15:59

Amazon are starting Black Friday on the 21st

Room4onemore · 08/11/2024 16:10

Looking for an Argos code if anyone has one please, I need to make a big order 🙈 thanks in advance

Pollypoorly · 08/11/2024 16:11

Thanks for the headset deal. Amazing 🤩
When better I'll try to find some good stuff to add

psuedocream3 · 08/11/2024 16:11

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho If you go through rakuten with a referal code you get an extra £25 back which would make it cheaper. Let me know if you'd like a referal code.

Can anyone recommend the Vtech Kidi DJ Mix ? Currently reduced to £30 from £60 on Argos, cheapest I can see elsewhere is around £45

This is on my list but the closest store in stock is 1hr away :(

Clucket87 · 08/11/2024 16:22

@Ladybaga it's in my local store if you want me to post it to you?

Does anyone have a recommendation for letterbox cake or brownies???

I buy ‘Arrival’ brownies and filled cookies.
I’m sure Black Friday will offer up a bogof, or bogohp (half price).

My Soccer04 order has arrived this morning for anyone waiting! Don't think mine looks particularly big for a 4 year old but I think it will vary on the kits, the actual kit from the official shop is tiny so ordered bigger and looks good.

When did you order? I have still heard nothing.

LePetitMaman · 08/11/2024 17:03

Did I imagine it, or is there a free delivery code for Smiggle?
