Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Happy November everyone,
I've not followed these threads at all this year as I'm already mostly sorted and know I'd just end up buying more! But I do now need help. MIL has asked for some bum bum cream. I vaguely recall this being a thing last year? What ended up the cheapest way to buy this? Was there a deal to be had?
Thank you in advance

Just catching up on thread so sorry if this has been posted but Look Fantastic have 25% off all sol de janeiro at the moment

@redjoker would you recommend your rechargeable hot water bottle? I use a hot water bottle every night and fill it from a boiled kettle and am a little worried it might pop! I usually half fill it so it still is quite flexible rather than a rigid hot water bottle shape if you know what I mean?

Hmm. It's deffo small and feels 'full' and solid. It feels solid that if you lent on it, it would withstand it. But I also get what you mean about it being too solid and risk popping. I have it on my lap in the day. I like it becuase it stays hit for agessss

A little bit of a random one .. does anyone have a waffle maker please? My son is desperate for one but I’m keen to go for well reviewed - previously had a lidl one but it was thin/flat and a pain to clean, he’s after fat belgian waffle style.
Thank you all 🧇

Cuisinart do a brilliant one that is dishwasher friendly (the plates pop out). They did have it in the sale but not sure if that is still going ...

dramalamma · 06/11/2024 08:33

For the OP who was looking for a waffle maker, Cuisinart still has this one in their sale. Ive bought it for xmas so cant confirm how good it is and a little skeptical about the rrp but it has good reviews in amazon where its selling for £25 more last time i looked. www.cuisinart.co.uk/cooking/waffle-makers/

I have this one, it's brilliant! Love that the plates can go in the dishwasher.

@daisyboo1 - I had a £10 ‘skincare’ no minimum spend reward from JL - I used it last week in store for a £10 shower gel from Rituals - I do like a freebie!

I had the same but it was £10 off ‘bathroom’. I got a free bathmat

IlovePond · 06/11/2024 19:21

Ooh I need a new bath mat @LeatherJacketWedding !

Thanks! Do you know which one you have? Even if it's not bargainous, I'd date a good one over a cheap one when it gets used 300+ days a year 😅

I am beyond excited: I have just checked my JL rewards and I have a £20 off ‘personal care’ products - no minimum spend!

Last week free Rituals shower gel, this week, who knows? (Basically, if you see someone wandering round JL frantically checking price tags for something costing £20, it will be me!)

Do check your Rewards - something good could be lurking there!

My DS17 and my Father(82) are both obsessed with bamboo socks and pants and I've bought them both some for christmas every year for the last few years. From Swole Panda in particular. but this year they aren't doing the same pick and mix options for buying them.

Can anyone recommend another great brand for bamboo socks and pants?

Bam
Ive used them many times for pants, socks & clothing and even get free socks occasionally from them.
Their stuff is excellent.

Has anyone recently received anything from soccer04? I ordered after seeing all the talk on these threads. Ordered 20th October but received nothing since the order confirmation.

I’m on the look out for some outdoor path finder type Christmas lights if anyone knows any decent quality ones?

I ordered on the 19th and have also heard nothing since the order confirmation. Not sure if I should be worried or not!

Cos1970 · 06/11/2024 20:13

Does anyone have a code for Tbe Whisky Exchange? My DH has asked for a bottle of whisky that’s a bit pricey

It’s gone sorry! Someone had it via pm earlier 😊

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 06/11/2024 20:23

My son would like some football mannequins. Can anyone recommend some affordable ones? They are about £80! Or do I just suck it up and pay that?! Seems like a lot for human shaped bits of plastic!

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 06/11/2024 20:24

Also I ordered a football kit from Onbuy and it’s a great replica!

Trumpton · 06/11/2024 20:26

@PlanBea

i bought this electric hot water bottle last month. I really like it. It’s hot enough that I use the padded side to start off and flip it over as it cools.
