Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Sorry if this has been asked...how do I work out the sizing for soccer04?
Is there a guide anywhere for kids sizes? I'm looking for standard 4-5 and 8-9 sizes.

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 06/11/2024 15:42

I'm hoping you can help please!
I'm looking for something similar to a hot water bottle, as its for a child I don't want a proper water bottle in case it bursts. I've seen the hotties but he's not really into cuddly toys. He likes sonic but can't find a sonic one.
What can you recommend please?! Thank you!

Hey @MidnightMilkman I used the size guide on the website - screenshot below, but my order hasn’t turned up yet so I can’t say if it is true to size- I was ordering the largest size anyway though 😂 hope this helps 😊

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho we have wheat filled bags - like the inside of the cuddly ones but without the cuddly toy! They are microwaveable and great to double up as heat packs for injuries 🙂

Im excited to finally have something to add! Kings Ginger is £20 on Amazon (usually £24-25). It’s a very gingery drink for after dinner but may help with a hard-to-buy-for person. Here’s the link to read about it but you can buy from Amazon.
it’s spicy and fiery and really delicious!

Just a reminder the Oodie £1 offer is on at 6pm - good luck to everyone trying to get one!

EvilHerbivore · 06/11/2024 16:50

Piglets Pantry looks great for a secret Santa present I need. I seem to remember that there was a code at some point, anyone know if it there is still one floating around?

Mytribeof3 · 06/11/2024 16:52

Does anyone have a Lakeland voucher they don't need please?

daisyboo1 · 06/11/2024 16:53

Just a reminder to check John Lewis rewards - I have a £10 skincare voucher on mine. Does anyone know if I can use it on shower gel or body moisturiser or does it have to be face skincare? I want to use it but don't want to end up buying / adding to the value for facial skincare I don't need!

Daisychain789 · 06/11/2024 17:01

Does anyone have a schuh discount code? I had a £10 gift card I was planning to use which has just expired

hugsandpugs · 06/11/2024 17:07

Would anyone like a discount code for WHSmith? I don’t think I’m gonna use it. It was sent to me via email. £5 off a £30 spend

hugsandpugs · 06/11/2024 17:16

I also have a 20% off code for the works - no minimum spend to be used online. If anyone wants it let me know - I don’t think I need anything from there ☺️

My DS17 and my Father(82) are both obsessed with bamboo socks and pants and I've bought them both some for christmas every year for the last few years. From Swole Panda in particular. but this year they aren't doing the same pick and mix options for buying them.

Can anyone recommend another great brand for bamboo socks and pants?

Ceejadess · 06/11/2024 17:18

Does anyone have experience with buying jewellery from Abbot Lyon? Would like to get my auntie a personalised necklace with her girls initials

If you pop something in your online basket it will show if it’s applicable. I got £15 off fragrance or make up and it didn’t work on Jo Malone but did on Chanel etc.

I love bam clothing for socks, they’re fab! https://bambooclothing.co.uk/category/womens-bamboo-socks/womens-everyday-socks/?_gl=118fscs3*_upMQ.._gaNjE1NTU5NTIzLjE3MzA5MTM0ODc._ga_8KVJKMF9WLMTczMDkxMzQ4NC4xLjAuMTczMDkxMzQ4NC4wLjAuMTEzNzM3MDk2OQ..

Got some from sock snob this week and they have brands I recognise from other places at reasonable prices! Someone on here shared a discount code a day or so ago too

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 06/11/2024 17:27

@onedayatatime73 they go half price tomorrow 😊

I've recently placed an order with them!
Absolutely lovely products and they come really nicely packaged too.

Customer service is great, though I did only use it to ask for an estimated delivery date. Delivery takes a while, I waited 3 weeks so if anyone reading is planning to buy for Christmas, I'd definitely think about putting orders in round about now as I imagine it may take slightly longer when more orders start rolling in ☺️

TheGriffle · 06/11/2024 17:40

Could anyone recommend a bargainous but good bath pillow please? Dh has requested one.

issantahereyet · 06/11/2024 17:41

I don't suppose anyone has any experience with these small bumper type car things? And if so, what age would you say they're suitable for please? At a loss for a child who seems to have anything and everything!
