Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Hullabalooza my dd would like the panini football cards advent calendar (i didn’t know they did one!) but obviously only a good idea if he is into football/trading cards.

Do you know where I can find this please.

These were a big hit on this thread last year when some were on clearance in Argos. Great price at £2. I have seen the currently at full price in Sainsbury’s and they look nice. Bigger than expected - about 2-3 times the size of Jellycat Amuseables.

Just to say that there are two sizes of bum bumz. These ones are the little 4 inch ones. Still great value though. I've still got a few spares from buying them cheap at argos last year.

Thelifeofawife · 06/11/2024 12:39

@PigtailsAndPlaits I have previously gifted M&S afternoon tea, that was well received

Babynumberthreeee · 06/11/2024 12:40

If anyone missed out on the sainsburys marble run Robert Dyas had this one today 25% off

Ah! I didn’t know that. Thanks for clarifying.

Having ignored all the chat on previous chats about heated throws and blankets..my mum has now decided she would like one! Can anyone point me in the direction of a great brand/deal as I really don't know what I'm looking for! Many thanks

Any recommendations for an afternoon tea type gift that can be sent straight to the person? Preferably cheap and the items to have a good date on them.
Thank you

I sent one to my aunt from patisserie Valerie last year. She said it was lovely. I believe some of it arrived frozen, so would keep a while. Alternatively it might be worth checking with cafes near the recipient, as I know two near us who deliver locally, and they are lovely.

Beingacatbed · 06/11/2024 13:07

@dogsareforxmastoo
ive seen it in argos and also on amazonAdvent

Has anyone seen any Barbie camper van bargains? I'm sure I missed one a few threads back before DD declared it her most wanted gift!

I posted in the last thread about Barbies at Home Bargains, they had the Chelsea camper van

Who remembers this from last year? I got a few as gifts but they sell out fast

Green & Black's 25 Organic Tasting Collection, 395g with £3.70 off Voucher - £7.09 Subscribe & Save

discount appears at checkout.

Givealittlebit · 06/11/2024 13:28

@sillygoof the cerave cleanser dupes are really good from aldi too!

Whoever mentioned the change to Amazon Shoppix I was equally disappointed. BUT if you're scanning receipts anyway and don't already have Shoppix then download that too. I like just saving up then putting the vouchers in my PayPal account.

I'm also annoyed by the Amazon shopper change. You only had to scan 10 receipts to get £5. Now you need to scan 50!

I had to pop into town today so went in the Works. Brilliant for little stocking fillers for kids. Lots of cool things for only £1/£2. Means my stockings will be nearly done which is great!
Also picked up chocolate Bluey advent calendars in Lidl for 99p each, also had Peppa, Paw Patrol etc.

BourbonsAreOverated · 06/11/2024 14:44

I’ve been into primark today. They’ve got all their matching pjs in. Some are lovely

PigtailsAndPlaits · 06/11/2024 15:00

Thank you all for your replies regarding the afternoon teas. Will have a look at them all after the school run.

IlovePond · 06/11/2024 15:03

Hi, I went to Aldi today. In Specialbuys, they had the sleep oil and the sleep pulse rollerball, so I got one of each. I love the oil and thought I might as well try the rollerball too.

In the usual toiletries aisle they had the plumping cream, (I bought some of this a couple of weeks ago but haven’t used it as I disliked the smell.) They also had the Caviar cream.

Also in Specialbuys, there were wooden advent calendars for kids: £12.99. They were so adorable I wanted one too. There were also some Bluey toys.

No gin crackers 😿 but the sparkling Buck’s Fizz was down to £2.09 so I got a bottle each of traditional orange and of apple.

IlovePond · 06/11/2024 15:07

Whilst I was at it. I went to IKEA as well. Very exciting as I haven’t been there for years!

I got a pair of the squirrel/fox felt decorations for £4 and some cinnamon biscuits, (following a recommendation from someone on here). I also picked up some mulled non-alcoholic punch for under £3.

They had some cute Xmas lights and gonks from £5. I wanted one of those, but DDog would eat it🙀

Lakeland have some great capes, scarves etc that use battery packs instead of plug ins. Means you can get on with your day instead of being tethered to the sofa

@PigtailsAndPlaits

I use The Cornish Crean Tea company for cream teas by post. Its my go-to cheer up present for friends and family

Cream Teas

I’ve used these as well as piglet pantry. Both have been well received

christmasfish · 06/11/2024 15:39

Tesco have 70cl Baileys for £8 with a Clubcard. Not quite as good value as £10 for a litre but not far off.
