Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Seen as we are now in November and I haven’t even started thinking about Christmas presents, it is time I joined you all on this thread. I have found some great bargains here in previous years. 🙂

yorkieswithgravy · 06/11/2024 08:31

Happy November everyone,
I've not followed these threads at all this year as I'm already mostly sorted and know I'd just end up buying more! But I do now need help. MIL has asked for some bum bum cream. I vaguely recall this being a thing last year? What ended up the cheapest way to buy this? Was there a deal to be had?
Thank you in advance

dramalamma · 06/11/2024 08:33

For the OP who was looking for a waffle maker, Cuisinart still has this one in their sale. Ive bought it for xmas so cant confirm how good it is and a little skeptical about the rrp but it has good reviews in amazon where its selling for £25 more last time i looked. www.cuisinart.co.uk/cooking/waffle-makers/

Amazonmulu · 06/11/2024 08:36

I'm really late to the Cuisinart party 🙈 Is there any codes that still work?

Have a look on the boop website. It was recommended on the advent calendar threads and was recently on tv. They had it for £32 last time I looked.

There aren’t codes - it’s just a really good sale.

Can anyone please help with advice on a marble run for a nearly 4 year old? I've just started looking but am feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the different options! Thank you

So initially we got a vtech marble rush, which is enjoyed, but then we ended up getting a standard one which is used much more. If you get a certain type then you can mix and match sets too which is better as the more you have the better runs you can make. We have marbulous, and Galt which work together. I would recommend either of those. I'll attach a screenshot of ones that work together for you . Some of those listed are American I believe, just as a heads up.

Thank you so much, that's incredibly useful to know. I'll take a look at those ones also.

this Ariana grande perfume is down to £16 in Superdrug. I had £11 of points so was a bargain at £5. I am hoping it smells nice as now as I’ve not smelt it before

I've found a lovely necklace on a site called Wolf and Badger - just wondering is anyone familiar with the site? I don't want to be ripped off in my excitement!

They used to have a shop in coal drops yard in King’s Cross - very nice and very expensive!

Thanks for this great thread. Can anyone recommend a good beard trimmer?

My granddaughter aged 5yrs loves playing 'restaurants' so have got her waitress and serving set bits.

But what she really wants is one of those menu iPad things that waiting staff use now to punch in the menu choices.

Has anyone seen or know of a pretend version ? Thanks

am I doing something wrong with this? Found an item in their sale where it says £100 off, add it to basket and it's full price...

Edit: was the wrong colour for the sale! All sorted.

The food processor? That didn't work for me either but I did get 2 mini choppers (one for me, one for my Mum) for £15 each.

@onedayatatime73 hotel chocolat do a yummy salted caramel vodka and a cacao gin that I’d highly recommend- bit a subscription but there’s lots of offers if you sign up for their emails

Also just wanted to say thank you to @cornishgirl for the laithwathes tip - my boys are going to be so happy with their Hawkstone ciders 😃

The salted caramel vodka is incredibly sweet. I was given it and DH is drinking it for me.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but I've had an email from Smyth's saying they're doing the £5 off £50/£10 off £100 again, but does only apply to baby room. May be useful if anyone has a little one to buy for
