Reastie · 04/11/2024 18:52

Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Thanks for this! Also picked up some Whispering Angel as gift for rose loving sister-in-law (and early birthday gift for myself…)

Not wishing to be a Grinch, but I’ve tried to order Lego on offer click & collect from Asda several times and it has never been delivered. It says in stock, allows order, then on day of collection they send a notice which says “sorry, this item is out of stock”. So, just be prepared / have a back up plan if it’s a “must have”

Next request from me- any recommendations for Affirmations Cards for a slightly Anxious nearly 8 year old- doesn't actually have to be a bargain! Thanks.

We've had stuff from this small business that is absolutely lovely https://abelandthelabel.com/ They have a sale on for affirmation prints at the moment and a new customer discount that pops up

Has anyone recently received anything from soccer04? I ordered after seeing all the talk on these threads. Ordered 20th October but received nothing since the order confirmation.

I’m on the look out for some outdoor path finder type Christmas lights if anyone knows any decent quality ones?

I ordered on 18th Oct, I’ve had an email confirming it’s shipped and a Royal Mail tracking number on the 28th but when I track it’s still showing as RM are waiting to receive it, fingers crossed someone else can confirm they have received their orders, from what I recall a few people did post saying it can take a while and the communication is pretty non existent so I don’t think it’s unusual 🤞🤣😭

Nice stocking filler gift - Play-Doh Swirlin' Smoothies Toy Blender Playset only £6.99 on Amazon here

The VTech ones are very good. They're chunky and easy to use. My 9 year old has asked for Gravitrax this year which I think is a direct result of "helping" his little sister with the VTech.

Has anyone bought / used the Play Factory balance beams and stepping stones from Smyth's? Both of mine have asked for them for playing the floor is lava, but they're 5 and 9. The beams seem to be aimed at toddlers so I'm not sure if they're strong enough?

We have the stepping stones from symths, from the sensory range for floor is lava. They're great, they are polystyrene type material but come in a bag for storage and with cards for making sequences. For the price I definitely recommend. I also got the wooden wobble board from the same range which they love but my son did split his eyelid when one end came up and hit him, hasn't deterred them though!

Any good offers around for electric toothbrushes? My mum's exciting request.

Amazon and boots on Black Friday would be my go to.

Waffles21 · 06/11/2024 06:16

Hello, I’m shopping for an almost 16 yo ds and after reading about the North Face ‘puffer’slippers, would love to get him some, does anybody remember whether North Face did any Black Friday deals last year or happen to know of any vouchers please? Thanks so much in advance

@CalliopePlantain Have you managed to get this to work? I’ve filled a basket but it’s saying the code isn’t valid

Yes it worked for me

Hi does anyone have a recommendation for an advent calendar for a 12 year old boy? Want to get my younger daughter the smiggle one but can’t find anything special for him to make it fair, most boy themed ones are too young.

ImageMirror · 06/11/2024 06:33

@Hullabalooza have you seen the Lynx one? I’ve got it for my almost 12 year old DS

OohShakiraShakira · 06/11/2024 07:08

I saw waffle makers in ny local tk maxx

psuedocream3 · 06/11/2024 07:17

@Boxofsockss @mumsm Just to let you know, using the blue light discount code invalidates the cashback at Disney Store, so you wouldn't get the extra £20.00. Only codes on Quidco are valid with cashback, just thought I'd mention incase anyone was thinking of doing a Disney order.

BourbonsAreOverated · 06/11/2024 07:38

Lakeland have some amazing waffle makers for a range of budgets and there’s always a discount code knocking about

juicyjellybaby · 06/11/2024 07:44

Would anyone have a Superdrug code they don’t mind sharing please?

Raindancer411 · 06/11/2024 07:53

For a son who has almost everything I can think of, can anyone think of any gadget type ideas for gifts please? He is 12.

Streetcornerchoir · 06/11/2024 08:03

Disney store £20 bonus is still on today and now they have an extra 10% off on top of the 25% toy tuesday deals! I think the 10% comes off most other things too.

NewLamp · 06/11/2024 08:10

Does anyone have a discount for One Hundred Stars? Is it worth waiting for Black Friday?

Alternatively, I'm open to suggestions of companies that do similar dressing gowns.

Thanks

Elphaba17 · 06/11/2024 08:11

Use code SHIPMAGIC at Disney Store for free delivery as well. I only needed two things so this worked out the best deal for me. Managed to combine 25% off with extra 10% and free delivery.

I’ve just ordered from Disney and managed to stack the code SHIPMAGIC for free delivery with these codes too.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I couldn’t see it when I went back but I’m a bit behind on the thread. It’s so fast!

You’re ok, I’m about three threads back! Ignored the free delivery as was focused on the cashback but good point ☺️

alfiebest · 06/11/2024 08:23

Have just stacked the 3 codes as well! Thanks ❤️

Beingacatbed · 06/11/2024 08:26

@Hullabalooza my dd would like the panini football cards advent calendar (i didn’t know they did one!) but obviously only a good idea if he is into football/trading cards.
