Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

If you have a student email account you can sign up for student beans. You don’t need a card. You can the generate your own codes.

Really? I do have student email - i’d have never have thought to investigate this and have been waiting every week now since we started back.

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell me - I’ll see if I can get on it this evening and will report back!
Hopefully some on I’ll be the one DM-ing codes instead of asking for them 😊

Just went to Sainsbury’s to check out the Xmas wear. Not a lot in my local. I left the GP pjs as thought they might be too thick and bought the Pigs in Blankets instead as they are cotton and feel nice to the touch. I bought ahead of Friday’s reductions as I thought things would probably sell out very quickly. If the pjs I bought don’t fit, I will take them back on Friday and see what, if anything, is there.

In the interest of research, I also tried on some Xmas jumpers, although I have more than enough to wear a different one every two days for the whole of December, (I do know I have a problem😹).

Size 12 ladies in the reindeer print fitted me, but men’s medium in the same print, but green instead of red, fitted better and was a bit longer, which I prefer, (even though I am only 5”4’, neither was particularly long!)

Not a bargain but Tesco have a mini florentine wreath in their finest section. Maybe lovely if anyone is doing a hamper.

Dramallama24 · 16/10/2024 15:56

Does anyone happen to have an argos code for £50+ spend?

TIA 😊

halloweenscat · 16/10/2024 15:58

Sainsburys 25% off

Does anyone know if it's just online or in store?

Thank you.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 16/10/2024 16:04

@halloweenscat it's usually both. It starts friday and ends sunday (was originally scheduled to start today)

Edit to say I guess you mean the clothing event

IlovePond · 16/10/2024 16:17

Fortunately the Selfridges a/c does nothing for me - cannabis perfume 🙀🙀🙀

Wonder how it will do. It seems a bit limp compared with SpaceNK and Sephora’s calendars.
