Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Sainsbury's pass holders - I've gone to book my Christmas slots, I usually get two deliveries a week (Friday and Monday) but the email said you could only have one slot between 20th and 24th. It looks like it's letting me book 20th and 23rd, anyone else getting this? I don't want them to cancel one of the slots, especially the 23rd one 😅

ruralwanderer · 16/10/2024 10:51

Thanks for the Sainsbury's heads up, I've just booked my slot 😁

Cos1970 · 16/10/2024 11:08

I hope this nanny to post as it’s not about Christmas. I usually do a hot chocolate station for Halloween and then Christmas.

I’ve got lots of different Christmas themed hot chocolate bombs etc but struggling to get Halloween themed hot chocolate bits. Have tried all the usual places (B&M, Home Bargains etc). Has anyone seen any online or in the shops?

Juniperberries200 · 16/10/2024 11:09

I have an offer of £75 to spend on a purchase over £139.99 with Naked Wines. I'll send by pm.
I'm not sure if there's any t&cs applicable so please read all the guff!

IlovePond · 16/10/2024 11:13

@Cos1970 - I might have seen some in Lidl.

ChristmasMad1 · 16/10/2024 11:26

Asda had a few different Halloween themed sprinkles, lime green, black & orange & some with little bats if that is any help?

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 16/10/2024 12:23

@Cos1970 I know they aren't strictly marketed as halloween hot chocs but could you get some of the Harry Potter colour changing ones from B&M (they are with all the christmassy bits)

Sainsburyd have halloween marshmallows

Willow4987 · 16/10/2024 12:25

@Cos1970 have you tried M&S!? Not sure if they have anything suitable

hby9628 · 16/10/2024 09:14

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads thanks for the molton brown cracker. Perfect for my stepdad.

Not so much a bargain but somebody suggested these on a what are you getting your parents thread....lovely individual size puddings. I'm also getting him some of these as he has a sweet tooth.

georgieporgiespuddings.co.uk/

These puddings are really nice. I’m not a big Christmas pudding fan but I liked these. I got them from Bath Christmas market last year - they did offers on them at the market.

My student card has still not been issued.

Would anyone please send me a student code for the North face - am waiting to check out - please by DM 😉. Or any other ideas for discount please

If you have a student email account you can sign up for student beans. You don’t need a card. You can the generate your own codes.
