I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

I can get to a RL outlet really easily if you wanted an idea of prices for anything before making the trip. Just let me know any time, it’s no problem.

Thank you so much that’s really kind

Someone was asking about Crayola stuff. Just seen some on Argos. Different sets. 2 for £15 or 2 for £20.

Has anybody seen any good Advent Calendars for 3 year olds please?

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 20/09/2024 08:55

Claires has 50% off Squshmallows and Soft Toys instore and online according to my email this morning

Leavesandacorns · 20/09/2024 09:01

I just got this Melissa and Doug ice cream set for £15 for my 3 year old. It doesn't look as lovely as the other one, but has slightly less chokey bits for his little brother.

The bigger set is down to around £30 this morning too.

My DD has asked for the Jellycat XL octopus to complete her collection but also as the only thing she really wants. Full price £120 for a soft toy Confused I've found it 5% off, am I likely to find a better discount? Tried Vinted but my order was cancelled with no explanation!
Thanks

Jeremy's home store has it for £99.95 https://jeremyshomestore.co.uk/jellycat/jellycat-odell-octopus/

DD has all the other sizes but hasn't asked for the really big one (yet!) They are really lovely.

Thanks to the PP who posted the national trust link, that's money saved on a planned day out tomorrow 🙂

Thanks everyone.
Not sure if people know, but the star gifts have changed on boots. Not sure when they changed though so it might have already been mentioned. Xx

VolcanicProtectorMan · 20/09/2024 09:39

Finally started my xmas shopping for my youngest now with M&D toys on Amazon. Thanks for mentioning!
Some of them are eligible for 15% Baby Wishlist discount too, so got the cleaning caddy toy for around £9, and the mix and match teddy wooden puzzles for £8.50

We have that one for the same reason - my eldest chose it and we had one year twins at the time. Who would still 5 years later put everything in their mouths. It is still played with now. He chose it when he was three and still plays with it at 8. I tried to get rid of it this summer but the mere suggestion caused an uproar.

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz do you mean the Scrawlr boxes get reduced to £5-7? Does this happen very often? I LOVE the look of these!

We got them at Black Friday time last year and again an Christmas

They are lovely and have some great quality products. And you can choose the box you want. And you get a couple of those Fruit Salad sweets in in too Grin

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 20/09/2024 10:06

Wow. What's so special about those jellycat things? Just had a look and there are at least 3 octopuses on Vinted. One looks brand new with tags from Harrods and is £90. The others you could have an Etsy shop make a tag maybe?

Sorry to ask on here but I know it's been mentioned before, I can't find it. Does anyone have a spare the white company discount code pretty please? I'm signed up to emails but nothing.

Also I'm wanting to get my 4&6 y/o DD a tablet for Christmas, budget about £150. Not apple. Can anyone recommend a decent one please.

OnionBag · 20/09/2024 12:48

Would anyone know a discount code for the Degusta Advent Calendar? TIA

mybrainisbusybeingawesome · 20/09/2024 12:50

DS2 has asked for a Nintendo switch lite in blue. Do you think it's worth holding off until Black Friday for a good deal? I've already used the very 20% welcome offer for last years Xmas 😬

Yes, I would hold out - though I found it nerve-wracking to do so. Make a note of how much it is now so you know. Maybe look on the tracking websites to see what is the best price and what is a good price.

Hello lovely Christmas bargain hunters.

Would anyone have a spare Argos discount code please ?

Thanks.

Dreamingofwalden · 20/09/2024 13:14

I went shopping IRL the other day to TK Maxx. I found the Picasso mini tiles - perfect for stockings, a Tom Gates book and colouring kit and a pair of Chelsea Peers pyjamas. Mammoth 🦣 Maths which I paid full price for on Amazon last week. I grabbed another one for the endless class parties - mum of twins - I was happy 😊.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 20/09/2024 13:38

Any news on Yoto deals yet or if anyone knows when they are likely to start appearing. Thanks!

Rachey28 · 20/09/2024 14:08

Does anyone know if M&S have the chocolate advent calendars in store yet? I don't want to make the trip if they aren't in yet! X

Favouritefruits · 20/09/2024 14:11

@Rachey28 not yet! They had quite a lot of Xmas bits out but no advent calendar’s.

If all else fails, and your open to second hand, cex is brilliant and have two years warranty.
