Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

As in clothing or fragrance? Ralph Lauren is on Top Cashback. It's 3% cashback atm I think. Other than that, maybe wait till sales / BF. I also seem to hit lucky with RL items on Vinted at great prices.

@Openmouthinsertfood have a look on Pinterest for the chocolate Santa sleigh ideas. They use food safe glue to secure the bars together.

Would also recommend vinted. We’ve got lots of brand new Ralph Lauren clothes off there recently for half the price!

Where are you? There's a RL outlet near me that has ever changing stock ( SE).

I think I must be the only person to have not used vinted yet but now might the right time, thanks for the recommendations.

@Georgieporgie29 I've found Ralph Lauren in TK Maxx before (I've bought myself RL leather boots, a linen cardigan, and 2 silk shirts all from TK Maxx).

Don't forget folks to look out for the Scrawlr boxes which are often £5-7 deceived, for any arty types you want to buy for

Because they are the x subscription boxes they may be better for closer family if you think people may be funny about getting an obviously massively reduced item.

But we've had several and the value of the pen type item in them alone is often 4 time the cost you pay

@Timetochangenow that's a great price. We got the ice cream set for DS(3) a year ago and it's one of his most regularly played with toys. Just bought one for my niece for Christmas!

Can someone explain these pens that everyone is sharing? Are they colouring pens? What's so special about them?

They are excellent quality and you can use them on virtually every surface (so pottery, glass etc) they give brilliant coverage and look more like paint when dry. My DD decorates wooden items and masks with them among other things.

My Papergang order just arrived. 3 boxes that I’ve managed to sneak a peak of. Two have greetings cards cards, note book etc. 1 had recipe cards, cake toppers and a book to write recipes.

The ice cream set is well loved here. I'm not personally sure why we need more play food but my 4 year old has seen and asked for the sandwich set so that's a wishlist item ticked off at a good price.

Wonder if M&D are cleaning space for some new items being brought out.

Anyone who has little ones to buy for should snap this up. It's brilliant.

My little boy who isn't really into imaginative play absolutely loves it and plays with it often (he's 4) It's a wonderful present!

Lots of toys and games reduced on M&S - some at 60% such as LOL dolls and board games.

Also, have some PJs at 50% off.

Disney ballerina dolls 7.99 in one below. (I saw these for like £30 on amazon the other day!) They had belle, cinderella and tiana.

Depends what you're after but I think they've just done a deal with TK Maxx as loads of handbags and belts online last week.
