I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Last year I got the BARGAIN glitch sock advents.... DD has just been talking about it and would love another this year.... no chance of the same happening but does anyone know of any offers on sock advents?

I’ve done my own before. Just picked up cute ones / offers. Pop them in a paper bag with advent stickers count down

Yesterday I posted about the nespresso vertuo on amazon for £88 with some pods and a milk frother. Mine has arrived today and it's come with an offer by email for an extra 30 pods if you register the machine. It wasn't obvious on the email but if anyone else has bought one you need to claim the pods before 01.10.24 so make sure you do it so you don't miss out on the free coffee.

Hi thank you for these threads. Been following for years and loved especially when DC toddler ages. I need to go read this thread from beginning but jumping on in hope of some ideas please. 12 year old boy birthday. No gaming items. Like football so thinking a rebound thing and maybe a personalised strip (Ronaldo seems to be the main one for his friends but he’s 13/14 clothes size so unsure where to get?) Any other ideas or where to look? I’d appreciate any ideas as I’m a bit lost - promise to share any bargains I find (I don’t seem to have much luck with these so appreciate reading that amazing thread). Strictly started (no not for everyone!!) so that’s me on the Xmas countdown 😁

Fuckingfuckssake · 15/09/2024 22:20

Sorry I don't remember the posters name but the Radio Times subscription for £1 only works once, they won't let you use the same offer again to the same address, I've tried repeatedly!!

Fuckingfuckssake · 15/09/2024 22:22

I don't suppose anyone knows anything about the Paper white Scribe? My DD has just been using a relatives and loved the drawing pad, the kindle part she could take or leave, is there a cheaper option or similar gadget about does anyone know? As a standalone item, so she could use it on the go. Thanks.

"Sorry I don't remember the posters name but the Radio Times subscription for £1 only works once, they won't let you use the same offer again to the same address, I've tried repeatedly!!"

I've had it 3 times with different bank cards

Is it still going? Assumed I'd missed it for this year

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 15/09/2024 22:43

I've just gone in search of the radio times offer. There's 10 for £10 which is a good deal anyway. I've set mine to start at the beginning of November so that'll take me through the build up and into January

Fuckingfuckssake · 15/09/2024 23:31

@ItWasOnAStarryNight maybe that's where I'm going wrong! I've tried various emails and delivery addresses but they always rumble me! Didn't think about payment method.

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 15/09/2024 23:56

Yes! Definitely try a different payment method. Worked for me. Pretty happy with the 10 issues for a tenner though.

bizzey · 16/09/2024 01:28

Where is the radio times deal please .

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 16/09/2024 04:49

Radio Times 10 issues for £10 cancel anytime. If you set it to begin start of nov it'll include Xmas edition.

EmpressFlabulonTheWobbulous · 16/09/2024 04:54

Lights4fun have 20% off site wide with code 100SLEEPS. It works on items already in their clearance. I have bought a couple of new outdoor Christmas lights! There is a nice looking advent calendar house as well in the clearance section.
i’ve ordered from them before and have always been very happy with the lights.

It’s what, £350? Honestly for that price get her an ipad so many more features, I have the 2021 version and it’s really good and it’s about £300 on curry’s- I think I got mine for £220 or something in the BF sale. Then procreate which is £10 one off.

Theraffarian · 16/09/2024 06:32

Re Radio Times , I’ve had the offer about 6 times now , just have to cycle through different emails, payments etc . However last year I ran out of options . If they do the 12 copies for £1 again that includes the Christmas edition it should be any day , last year HUKD posted it on 14th September.

I'm not sure what your last sentence was meant to say, but I'm sure "Procreate" wasn't meant to be there, lol.

@Reastie A potential contender for the next thread; the one where we procreate.

psuedocream3 · 16/09/2024 08:09

@RainbowZebraWarrior Procreate is an app for graphic drawing, it's really good, I use it for my artwork and my daughter does too.

Still waiting on my Game refund, I finally managed to convince them to cancel and had confirmation of cancellation but still no refund.. anyone else had any luck?

Restlessinthenorth · 16/09/2024 08:26

There are some amazing boxed skin care gifts at very reduced prices on the boots outlet. Even more bargainous with a £10 off code. £80 of skin care for a tenner. All nicely boxed. I've put my code on the referrals thread if anyone wants it

I must've used a card I used before because they cancelled my order this morning. Will wait a couple of days to see if they do the offer and use a different payment card.

It's a drawing app
