I like to be super organised for Christmas - I actually hate shopping so like to get it all done early so I can enjoy December rather than stressing re presents and food. I live by my many lists to ensure I have no last minute panics.
So far I've bought:
DH - a shirt. Hopefully he'll like it but it's very ...different!
DS1 football shirt of his team, a northern light led lamp
DS2 football shirt (same team as DS1) and PJs.
DMiL - bracelet
Still got away to go. Aiming to be completed by early Nov.

So far I have got Christmas pyjamas for my teenage sons and their dad . Only got them now as they were half price!!!! 😕

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/08/2024 10:35

I do a Dec 1st Box for my adult DC ( underwear, socks, pyjamas, toiletries) so I need to start on that in Sept.

So far-

pyjamas for DD (festive Nordic print)
T shirt for DS to wear as loungwear
socks for DS - black and I buy hm sport socks
Nail polish and base + top coat for DD

Diamond earrings for DD her main present. She’s seen them and approves

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/08/2024 10:35

Oh and £1 coin holders that I’ll fill they take £15 worth

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 15/08/2024 10:36

None. It's August! I love Christmas, but I don't start Christmas shopping until November.

Fannyfiggs · 15/08/2024 10:37

My god, I have found the people I want to be.

Unfortunately I'll still be running around on Christmas eve buying gifts 🤣

pambeesleyhalpert · 15/08/2024 10:37

What if you're dh dosent like the shirt and it's too late to return it? This is what puts me off buying early!

Turophilic · 15/08/2024 10:44

One - I saw something perfect for my SIL last week so I bought it.

SerenaWaldorf · 15/08/2024 10:45

I've got a Ken doll and a Barbie jeep for DD and a super things selection box for DS and Minecraft fuzzy socks from Primark for his stocking. It's DDs birthday the week before Christmas so I feel like I need to hurry up and get a few more bits to spread the cost!

Stompythedinosaur · 15/08/2024 10:45

I feel a bit behind this year as I'm usually further along in my shopping.

All I've bought so far are Hamilton tickets which will be a joint gift to my dds.

I have no ideas!

Wellllll as long as you’re not panicking in December ‘cos we’ll all tut and say “we told you so “ 😄

I like to start in September but there’s been a couple of things I’ve bought,
For clothes I would either take the person along or get them to send me a link (DD) or with DS he just likes what I buy him ( either I have great taste or he’s just a lazy toad with clothes ) he’s very straightforward, nothing fancy or “out there”

AddictedToBooks · 15/08/2024 11:11

I've bought the vast majority of my Christmas presents which is early even for me (I'm usually September), but I had the money, had seen things which I knew people I love will like so thought "why not?".
Feels weird having wrapped Christmas presents in the bedroom in height of summer though, but I can have a more relaxed winter without worrying about postal times and queues and money.

Mind you, it does mean that I'll probably end up spending more in the long run as I will inevitably see something else.

Stompythedinosaur · 15/08/2024 11:15

Inspired by this thread, I've ordered some Minecraft bath bombs from Lush and some earrings from Silver Moon, so I can start building my stash!

Divebar2021 · 15/08/2024 11:16

Im not usually very organised but so far I have a White Fox lounge set, some Sol de Janeiro discovery set and some Bubble skincare for DD - mainly because they’ve been on offer. Unfortunately DH has a birthday in 2 weeks so I’ve had to divert attention to that.

Divebar2021 · 15/08/2024 11:17

Oh and the new Sabrina Carpenter album on vinyl ( not released yet) in the hope I could get a code for tickets but it failed.

Zow · 15/08/2024 11:25

None. Not a single one. I would have had half of them by now some 6-7+ years ago - and most of them would have come from the Studio Cards Christmas catalogue! I miss that very much. Sad They stopped it during covid, 'because virus!' and never restarted it.

You have to view everything online now, and it's 100% not the same. I used to love poring through the pages, and making a list of page number, item number, and item description on a notepad. Had a whole list mapped out next to a list of which items were for who. I was like Monica Geller from Friends! 😆

I CBA with Studio Cards anymore, and haven't ordered anything for several years because of this. Been a customer since the mid 1990s.

Also, sadly, I struggle to feel excited about Christmas now as an old gimmer. (61.) Kids left home over a decade ago, and have their own lives now. Maybe the magic will come back if I ever grandkids. Smile

SparklyLimeJoker · 15/08/2024 11:43

DD - Ben Miller 3 book set, a figurine and a Mickey Mouse bookmark.

DS - Money in a wee gift tin, a book and a selection of hot chocolate sachets.

3peassuit · 15/08/2024 11:47

I bought some L’occitane stuff when it was on offer at QVC but that’s it so far.

mondaytosunday · 15/08/2024 12:08

I have a shirt and pjs left over from last year and this years birthday for my son (I was going to give him the shirt but he bought four on holiday so seemed weird to give him another).
I'm always on the lookout and have a couple for my step grandkids I also bought last year.

gardenmusic · 15/08/2024 12:09

I have 10 stockings half full, leaving the chocolate until last, but stashing it at a friend's house! Today I bought 3 more moisturising foot socks from Boots, just because I was there, and two Garnier face masks- the paper kind to put in some of the stockings.
I have bought 2 bottles of boose as presents and a very strange magnetic shopping list thing. I need to get a move on!

StellaCruella · 15/08/2024 12:11

None! I've normally started by now but this month has been both DC birthdays and our holiday so I'm skint. Having a no spend September and low spend October so for the first time ever I think I'll be starting in November!

YouBelongHere · 15/08/2024 12:18

Me and my friends play a present game every year with gifts worth about £5 max, I've been trying to buy 2 a month so I'm ready for the end of the year.

Organising my Mum's Christmas Eve Box and I've bought her some hot chocolate stencils so far, there are a few things in my etsy wish list I just need to pay for.

For friends and family I've bought:
Nephew - Top Trumps
Brother - Light switch sticker with his favourite cartoon character
Friend - Handmade crochet of her favourite Marvel character
Sister - Favourite band merchandise socks

I keep a list of who I'm going to buy for and any ideas I come up with so a lot of the ideas are there I just need to buy them :)

Theimpossiblegirl · 15/08/2024 12:19

I'm on the Christmas bargain threads so have a few bits so far, champagne, whisky, lush bath bombs, calligraphy sets and some beauty bits. I try to spread the cost over the year.

OriginalUsername2 · 15/08/2024 12:21

I just order things online in November / December. I like to store all the Christmas stuff in the shops until I need it 😉

HelterSkelter224 · 15/08/2024 12:24

All my nieces and nephews Christmas and birthdays, they ALL have their birthdays in November / December / January (as do my own children!!). It's an expensive time of year so I buy early
