I do miss a dog walk, even though for the last year and a half of having ddog our walks got slower and shorter, culminating in 20 mins of dawdling along the green and not even reaching what used to be the start of our walk along the river.

hoping and Fluffy you have more patience than me - I gave up chopped down my tomatoes plants last weekend 😳

Feeling rough today thanks hormones so counting down the minutes until I finish work.

MonkeyTennis34 · 20/09/2024 12:57

MonkeyDog (seen having his post walk and lunch nap) has definitely increased my daily steps.

I probably average 4/5 miles a day...not sure how that equates to steps and I also get to appreciate my local surroundings...beach, woods.

whydoesitalwayshappentome So sorry...do you have long COVID?

@MonkeyTennis34 What a cute doggo you have there. We only have an extremely angry cockatiel.

Not diagnosed with long covid, although I still have breathlessness and post exertional malaise. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, inflammatory arthritis and several other things since which only appeared after Covid.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/09/2024 18:54

Awww he's lovely @MonkeyTennis34 and it would be so lovely if he was called "Monkey" like the dog in Jilly Coopers "Octavia"

MonkeyTennis34 · 20/09/2024 18:59

He certainly IS a monkey at times but that isn't his name. It's a great one though!

Just been to M and S and beheld their Christmas food fayre 🤤

In the name of serious festive research, I bought some Christmas Spiced Biscuits and will report back soon!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2024 19:02

FluffyPup is also a Labrador. He's very cute, when he's not being a dickhead. 🤣🤣

Gorgeous Dpups🐕

I had an amazing discovery yesterday - a delay button on my washing machine. So last night I set it to come on at 4am for cheap electricity and it was done when I got up at 6am. I am soooooooo excited by this, obviously i lead a very sad life. Only had the machine for 7 years and just noticed the button yesterday 🙄.

Just off for dog walk (run).

NoWordForFluffy · 21/09/2024 08:11

We don't often use our delay button, it has to be said. It's handy on occasion though.

@MonkeyTennis34, I think labs are lovely dogs. They're such dog-shaped doggies! 🦮

I'll have my second cup of tea and then take him out for his gallop. Though we're off to a dog field at 1, so I'll try to encourage a shorter route!

We had lovely lovely sun today , I got DS gym gear washed and hung outside (I wash it on its own with a good dose of Astonish Laundry Cleanser .
But........................... Yellow Weather Warning is on the horizon.

There;s a Christmas Clean-a-Long Thread on here , I cleaned the hob last night , the gap on either side where you need to run a knife <eek>

Then the porch , I have some shoes to recycle and co-erced DS into cleaning the floor . He does things but he wouldn't think of doing things . He de-weeded the off-street parking bay too . I'm too old to bend so his younger spine can do it .

@NoWordForFluffy we'll be getting near a New Thread soon, have you got a title in mind ?

I am idly perusing QVC for presents ((Free P&P today )

I'm pacing myself and hiding things from DD as I buy things for her Dec 1st Box .
Patiently waiting for M&S to release it's Food to Order , though I don;t buy loads of Christmas Food from there I like to have a nosey .
Last year they had some tiny gingerbread man biscuits that hung over a mug that I couldn;t find in the four big M&S stores I went into Xmas Hmm
This year I have bought a mini gingerbread man cutter to bake my own, I'll just need to dislocate their arms a bit to make them hook on the mug .

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2024 07:27

Morning!

Not thought about the title yet...I've 60 posts to decide! Xmas Grin

I know the gingerbread men you're talking about, 70. They're dead cute. Talking about failing to find stuff in M&S, I couldn't find their NHM advent calendar yesterday. I didn't have time to have a good look though as I had to get home so we could go to the dog field. I'll look next week.

Magnolia hasn't been back...hopefully she survived the dog walk run.

It's very goosey outside today. Loud buggers. The housemartins have gone now though, unsurprisingly. I can clean the poo off the balcony now! 😩

Magnoliasunrise · 22/09/2024 08:13

Morning!

I survived the Ddog run. It was hilarious. So fast and I was full on expecting him to emerge from the bushes with a squirrel in his mouth. Definitely don't need the gym if you have a dog.

In the spirit of the christmas cleanalong I went through DD wardrobe and drawers with her. I think she's got a Vinted habit. 2 bin bags later and its all back on Vinted.

Today I'll tackle DS's wardrobe and drawers 😬

Happy Sunday all. Its absolutely throwing it down here which is quite nice as I feel like I can justify a baking (lasagne and apple crumble), reading, TV and sofa afternoon.

MonkeyTennis34 · 22/09/2024 08:36

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I managed to get some of those mug-side gingerbread men. They were great...actually make a nice stocking filler for kids.

I bought 2 M and S hot chocolate and marshmallow bombs for the stockings. Always a winner.

The Spiced Shortbread biscuits were sensational, recommend with a cuppa when doing some Christmas planning/jotting etc.

Oohh Christmas Clean-a-long...sounds great and definitely necessary here.

Dunk19 · 22/09/2024 09:55

I'm looking at ordering some of the fragrance discovery boxes to give to a few teens from NOTINO Has anyone reciprocated theirs yet, do they look ok? Thanks

Dunk19 · 22/09/2024 09:56

Sorry wrong thread 🤦‍♀️

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 22/09/2024 21:10

Checking in after a busy weekend. We have cleaned the house from top to bottom, done a charity shop run and a tip run, food shopping, batch cooked bolognaise, soup and chilli, put up some shelves and bought a new car (with a 5 hour round trip to collect). I'm exhausted now - and unsurprisingly haven't done anything Christmassy at all Xmas Grin

Fluffy your dog is my DH dream dog. Can I ask if you paid ££££ for him?
After losing our lovely ddog last year I didn't know if I'd want another one but I'm starting to feel ready now (although DH wants to wait a while longer and for various reasons it's going to be at least another year).

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2024 21:38

Poor FluffyPup was reduced as he hadn't sold quickly enough (he was a litter of 10). There was him and his brother left when we got him and he was £650. They're usually quite a bit more than that! He's a brilliant dog though. 🥰

It's absolutely tipping down here now. Might have a doggy dog walk tomorrow!

MonkeyTennis34 · 23/09/2024 07:49

@NoWordForFluffy
Wow, we paid £1500 for MonkeyDog and the breeder's prices increased shortly after that.
You were very lucky.

MonkeyDog got us up 4 times last night...on the 4th time we found that he'd been sick on the kitchen rug!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2024 08:30

Morning!

Bloody miserable day here today. I had a damp dog walk (not as wet as DH had last night, mind you!). It's meant to brighten later on, so we're planning to put washing on to go out. Except the machine wouldn't turn on for some reason. We'll check the fuse and see what's what, and call the engineer out if necessary.

@MonkeyTennis34, yes FluffyPup was a bargain! He was 14-15 weeks when we got him, so they wanted him to go. They tried to tempt us into taking both, but that would've been too much!

OP posts:
NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 23/09/2024 09:33

Dog prices are Shock now aren't they?
We've had 3 dogs (terriers) - 1 was free as owner was giving him away as he was the runt of the litter (awesome dog), 1 we covered vaccination and chip fees as we knew the owner and the last one was a free gift from MIL who owned both his parents and offered him to us because DH had clearly fallen in love with him 🙄

Both my in laws (seperate) have had labs. They're not really my kind of dog tbh but neither were our terriers and I ended up loving them all massively.
SIL also really wants one and send me breeder info etc every so town so I'm pretty sure next dog will end up being a lab, and I'll moan about mess/size/cost then end up being soft and loving them anyway.

On a festive note, the local Christmas factory posted on fb that they're opening their Christmas shop in a few weeks Xmas Grin

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 23/09/2024 16:49

Christmas has hit The Range. I'm picking up a C&C order and there are 3 aisles partly done so far, and a staff member is unpacking fairy lights as we speak Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2024 20:08

Ooh. I'm going to the Range on Saturday for dog poo bags, so I'll enjoy a nose!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/09/2024 20:23

Ooh I buy baby nappy bags for our cats; trays , I hadn't thought of dogbags .

I might have to take myself to The Range , I used to go there a couple of times a month to buy things for my guinea-pigs (hay , pellet, ) but not been there for ages .

I've ordered a Christmas mug for DD (non negotiable ) and some nail polish .

I will be away from home for Hallowe'en <boo> going to visit my Mum. I won't decorate the house as I don't think the rest of them (DS/DH/DD) will want to get up to the door and do the whole Trick or Treat

Hopingforno2in2024 · 24/09/2024 06:50

M&S have released their Christmas food to order!
