Eek @NoWordForFluffy I wouldn't know where to begin with that commission 😂

I've played laundry Hokey Cokey today ☀️🌧️☀️🌧️☀️

You have a lovely view there Fluffy.

Magnoliasunrise · 12/09/2024 07:04

Posted too soon, I'll be doing the washing hokey cokey today Buck, although its looking nice now.

I'm also going to be making mulled wine jam as I have the day off.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2024 07:21

It's a beautiful view, Magnolia. At its most clear you can see across to the Welsh mountains. We can also see the Radio City tower in Liverpool. At night, the docks' cranes are lit up red too. We get a cracking view of fireworks in the city as well!

It's mostly shitting down this morning. Very wet dog walk. There were some brief dry spells, but not many. Beautiful sunrise during a dry period.

It's set to be dry after lunch, so we shall do washing ready!

Enjoy your day off!

Dog walk to the dead centre of town, Fluffy?

It looks like it will be dry here today so I'll chance another load. The downside of school restarting is the need to keep on top of games kit and school shirts.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2024 07:36

Yes, Buck. 🪦 The dog loves it in there as we go cat trailing! 🙈🤣 He gets the scent of a black and white cat which roams in there, and follows it, weaving in and out of the graves. We went through twice today, as he decided we needed a circular route (his job is to choose the route for our morning walk / run!).

DD lost her PE top on Monday (first wear). Thankfully it was in the PE list property on Tuesday (I named everything, so it was easy to find)!

Hmm, forecast here says rain all day but right now it's bright, sunny but freezing.

I don't currently have a full load of washing to do so will wait until tomorrow when it's supposed to be nice all day and will change the bedding and clear the basket.

That is a lovely view Fluffy

ConstantlyCooking · 12/09/2024 10:46

There is really autumnal feel to the weather today - cold but sunny. I have had to halt the Christmas prep because we having some work done on the house and I have to declutter!

Hopingforno2in2024 · 12/09/2024 12:40

Weather most definitely autumnal. The Rowans and Virginia creeper in the garden looking so lovely in their autumn colours.

I have started gift planning for Christmas and can’t wait to start on the food at the end of the month. Have started clearing out the garage so I have somewhere to store it all!

Gorgeous sunrise @NoWordForFluffy

Hope you are all better @NoCheesesForUsMeeces

Hopingforno2in2024 · 12/09/2024 15:40

We just had a massive hail storm!

Nice graveyard there Fluffy , quiet neighbours !

Friday 13th mwah ha ha

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 13/09/2024 19:28

Constantly we've been having a huge sort and declutter over the last few weeks. It's such a pointless task it does my head in.
Hope yours is going well!

I'm feeling loads better now thanks hoping.

I've had a fairly productive day. Full on day in work, did a load of washing, cleaned kitchen, put away the piled up 2 loads of washing Blush, changed the bedding and sorted through the wardrobe and pulled out the stuff to go to charity.
Ordered tea in though!

And annoyingly, it appears someone has stolen our green (garden waste) bin 🙄
It has our house number on it in flowery stickers so I don't think it's been taken by mistake.
Have ordered a new one but they apparently take 2-3 weeks.

Ah well. Back to cross stitching my Christmas card now.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 13/09/2024 19:37

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces I'm probably going to fall victim to my own smugness but we had work done in the house earlier in the year and did loads of decluttering in the kitchen/utility/my bedroom/spare room so I feel a bit ahead of the game for house prep. You are right that it's pointless - the stuff just builds up.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/09/2024 22:16

I had a Real Life potter into Sainsbury today , we usually get Delivery Shops but I had FOMO.

Well I can confidently state my F is allayed , I am not MO .

They did have a few Christmas items ,but early days . I managed to resist a tin of Cadburys Chunks ( Dairy Milk, Caramel, F&N) and the mince pies .
Even though this is the Christmas Thread, we still have Hallowe'en which I love too

I put washing out today , it was windy and warmi-ish , one of those clinging-to-the-last-days-of-summer days though it's bally freezing at night !

It is getting so, sooo near now to double figures .Xmas Grin

I put our duvet on the bed this week , we'd just had a top sheet but I felt it wasn't enough so using the 4 tog , we've got 9togs for winter and DD has a weighted blanket too .
The cats have spent most of the days on the bed now , they like their comforts .

BiddyPop · 14/09/2024 09:43

Proper raincoat, and long sleeved tops, are the attire for the weekend.

BiddyPop · 14/09/2024 09:46

But I couldn't put washing on the balcony this week, either too windy or the rain was too fine so there would be no drying. Back to indoor drying😩

Magnoliasunrise · 14/09/2024 12:53

It was 6 degrees this morning at 7am when I dropped DS to training and I thought oh poor thing hes going to be freezing and now its boiling (<slight exaggeration>)

Agree re the declutter, I've been looking on the Christmas Cleanalong thread which is motivating me but part of me wants to just chuck whole drawers and cupboards into bin bags and take it to the tip without even looking.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2024 13:59

That's a bit chilly, Magnolia. I didn't go out until just before 9 with the dog, and it was relatively warm then. He got a bit over-excited and hot trailing cats in the cemetery! 😬 I carry water for him though, so he had a lie down and a drink, then I kept him at jogging pace or below for the rest of the time. 🦮 🏃🏻‍♀️

I've just put our outside lights up, as we had a double socket put outside last week. I've ordered some new bulbs as well, as 6 have died. They're coming tomorrow. I don't think they'll give a huge amount of light, but they'll hopefully look nice!

I still need to clean the kitchen, which I'll do after I've had something to eat. I just made an apple and strawberry crumble with going over strawberries. DS decided he liked them again. Then stopped as suddenly! So I used about half the other half were furry and / or squishy then ditched the rest.

I love crumble time of year! 😋

Our third load of washing is in the machine. It's set to rain all day tomorrow, so our bedding will have to wait until Monday!

DH needs to go and buy more small cable ties later, so we can put some lights on the Juliet balcony ready for Christmas. I've said it's better to do when the weather is warmer, as we have to have the French doors wide open in the lounge to do it! Not as pleasant a job in December!

Forgot to say: wall to wall geese here today!

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 14/09/2024 17:38

We have an actual warm-ish day here (17°) so the last of the washing (including our bedding) is on the line and could probably do with coming in now.

We went out to look at cars this morning as my OAP car is giving up and we'll need to replace it soon. I'm going to be so so sad, I bloody love that car.

Have spent the afternoon drinking socialising as out for lunch then decided on impromptu drinks 😳

Home now though so having a relax for half hour before deciding if I can be arsed to do a few bits in the garden. It needs weeding, flower pots need tidying and the tomato plants that are good for nothing need chopping down.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/09/2024 18:39

I took DD put to buy the coat she couldn't get last week - they are very classic coats , she got a trenchcoat last week and a soft belted wrap coat today - that are the type she can be wearing in 5 or 10 years time .

There were quite a few Christmassey things sneaking on display , Boots had the GiftSets and they were clearing shelves in readiness Xmas Grin

Can you get a newer version of your current car Meeces or are you looking for a complete change ?

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 15/09/2024 00:09

🎄101 🎄

I sorted my Christmas order with the butcher yesterday and picked up another serving dish from the clearance section in Morrisons. It should double as a lasagne dish too - the ones I have are "two small portions - ok as long as there's garlic bread" and "family sized". This one might be the Goldilocks of lasagne dishes!

Magnoliasunrise · 15/09/2024 07:31

Buck I also have the too big and too small lasagne dishes - either pad it out or freeze half.

The coats sound lovely 70.

I feel for you Meeces, I had my first car for 11 years and I cried when it failed the MOT so badly the garage kept it for scrap (and charged me). My cousin came with me to take the number plate off for a keepsake and I cried as I was unscrewing it.😔

I've got a taste for crumble now Fluffy so thats what I am making today.

I started the Christmas clean/declutter yesterday and did the kitchen cupboards. a whole bin bag of rubbish. Ice cream cones expiry date March 2022.

Beautiful day here in London.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/09/2024 07:59

Morning!

It's very goosey here. Also grey; the forecast isn't great.

I'm trapped in bed by the dog who's lying on my left arm. Not entirely comfy!
