@70isaLimitNotaTarget
Die Hard IS (apparently) a Christmas movie… —what a load of bs—

I have bought both the Snowman (his rest his soul) toilet paper AND kitchen roll but I know not of a loo roll based Christmas countdown.

Which is why I’m here.

I excitedly pranced into Iceland a couple of years ago and bought what I thought was The Snowman loo roll only to find it was Kitchen Roll. Not to be detered I use it in my kitchen (from Dec 1st ) and found a supplier (Aldi) thanks to Fluffys post in another thread , for my loo roll.
Snowman Loo Roll goes in the toilet/bathroom on Dec 1st .
So Christmas Officialy Startes when I;ve wiped by bum on THe Snowman.

There is nothing festive about being caught in a ventilation shaft ( Bruce above) but seeing Hans Grubers little shocked face as he falls ..........

But I risk being evicted from the thread if I agree it isn;t a Christmas Film , so I;ll just risk splinters by sitting on the fence Xmas Grin

I've got a Kia eNiro Meeces. It is great at low or high speeds it goes like stink 😬

Hopingforno2in2024 · 16/09/2024 21:02

I also have a Kia eNiro!

MonkeyTennis34 · 17/09/2024 08:28

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces
That magazine is pure Yuletide Porn so well done for abstaining.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I nearly choked on my breakfast as I thought you were going to say that you used the Snowman kitchen roll for toilet roll 😂

Sounds like I'll have to sit on the splintery fence too re Die Hard, but......as far as I can remember (I've only had to watch endure one viewing as DH is a fan) the ONLY reference to Christmas is a fleeting image of a Christmas tree as someone dashes past it with a machine gun.... I will say no more.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 17/09/2024 09:43

🎄99🎄 We're in to double digits Xmas Smile

The car we're looking at isn't as nice as an eNiro I'm afraid. I think it's called a Soul maybe?

Appears to be another clear but cold day here so I'm finding things to put on the line.

Can hear the geese honking so it appears they're on the move today.

There are many references to Christmas. It's Christmas Eve; a work Christmas party. He's gone to visit his estranged wife and family for Christmas!

And who can forget Alan Rickman's delightful 'Ho! Ho! Ho!'?

I believe you need to watch it again. <nods sagely> Xmas Grin

Fluffy your work here is clearly not yet done.

More trumpets for the double digits.

I'm sooooooooooooooo excited for the Yuletide Porn - love that description Monkey. But I dont allow myself to buy any till after Halloween and then I'll be in a magazine festive frenzy.

Don't think they're divorced til Die Hard with a Vengeance (3)!

@NoWordForFluffy that's brilliant!
I stand corrected 😂

Wow @Magnoliasunrise I'm in awe of your self-restraint re the magazines.
I try and save my Christmas Good Housekeeping, which arrives at the end of October, until mid November but that rarely happens.

Love that video @NoWordForFluffy

DH returning from London today so I will collect him from Chester via the garden centre. Perhaps they will have started getting their Christmas stuff out!

So glad you've seen sense, @MonkeyTennis34! Xmas Grin

Hoping, the video is ace, isn't it? How could anyone not be converted to my way of thinking?!

We appear to have bloody loads of washing either done or needing doing. I'm not sure how that happened. 🤷‍♀️ Luckily it's a dry day.

@NoWordForFluffy
Ha! It is a great video though.

Very grey here...need to get the hell hound out then plan to clean the windows (inside) before work.

There is always loads of washing here.
DD has just started 6th form and can wear what she likes.....DS's 6th form requires a suit so it's just the shirts.

If they go to Uni I'll probably be doing one wash a week for me and DH.
Bliss.

BiddyPop · 18/09/2024 10:08

Die Hard 1 and 2 are both Christmas movies, just not the later ones.

Can't believe we're already into double digits! 😱 Foggy start today, travelling again tomorrow and was up late last night as DD decided to come here on Saturday for at least 1 night so booking trains for her (at least I will have time to shop on Saturday for food!).

Magnoliasunrise · 18/09/2024 12:49

Absolutely LOVE that video Fluffy.

Its agreed then. 🎅

Threw a small zipped bag into my suitcase - just in case I do any shopping in Budapest as I somehow have the option to check in a suitcase

Attempting to ripen my tomatoes indoors

Spring has sprung...let's Countdown to Christmas 2024 (Thread 2)
NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2024 18:45

I've left mine outside as it's nice this week. Not sure they'll do much though!

I've been to hospital twice today, once for nerve conduction studies and once for my follow up with the surgeon. I'm provisionally booked for carpal tunnel surgery on 12 Dec.

I've walked 22k steps today. I'm very tired. 😴

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/09/2024 20:03

Fluffy did you clock up the steps before you got FluffyPup or is he your personal trainer , the one you cannot ignore when he gives you the SadPuppyDogEyes and his lead

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2024 21:55

Well, pre-Covid when I worked in Liverpool every day, I used to do 13-15k a day. Then I started WFH and was lucky to get 2k done, other than when I used to walk into town at the weekend (5 mile round trip).

Once we got the dog, that went up to 7-10k, depending on how far we went and what else I did that day.

I do DD's school run (walk) as well now, so it's about 13-15k.

I'm very much of the belief that your legs are there to be used! 🤣

@Hopingforno2in2024 put some bananas next to the tomatoes and they will help ripen them.

@NoWordForFluffy 22k steps is a fabulous amount no wonder you're tired.

I love a good walk - I'm going on a long walk with my friend tomorrow and her dog. The dog's a nutter so I'm sure he'll have us running as well as walking.🐶

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2024 07:14

My dog makes me run, Magnolia! It's a mix of run / fast walk / stop and sniff!

At least he keeps me fit! Other than the orthopaedic injuries I get. 😬🙈🤣

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/09/2024 09:16

I wish I could do loads of steps like I used to. It has been two years next week since Covid hit me with a bang. I miss hurtling round the wards. I miss being able to do long walks full stop.
