Before we all forget what we actually would like next year, what was your favourite gift that you received?

I am very pleased with the very naice bottle of fino sherry I received from a naice looking posh West End booze shop, from my Secret Santa. I am looking forward to opening that when the weather is a little warmer.

I am also going to cheat and add another one, as it is my birthday today, and I am thrilled with the Penhaligon scent library my husband gave me for that too.

Could you post a picture of the type of bath tray ? Sounds like a good idea 🙂

I got 2 beautiful presents and I ruined both of them within 2 days. A gorgeous merino wool jumper dress which I wore Christmas Day, threw in the washing machine the following day and now it wouldn't fit my dog. A beautiful cashmere jumper which I wore on Stephens day, leaned over to turn off the gas fire and melted the arm of it on a candle. I am obviously not wired correctly to own nice things.

You could possibly soak and block the jumper dress!

My DD made me a photo album of all her favourite photos of the two of us going back to when she was small. Gave me a proper lump in my throat

A red Elvis and Kresse tote bag which I am waiting very patiently to be delivered!!

Also a photo album with photos of some of my great nieces and nephews.

Madickenxx · 02/01/2024 14:24

A new pair of Shepherd of Sweden slippers - love them!

WhamBamThankU · 02/01/2024 15:09

A necklace from DP. Wasn't expecting jewellery!

Sadly, nothing. Christmas topped off a year of very poor and thoughtless present buying for me. I find it so hard that I put so much thought into what people want or need and then I get toiletries and chocolates (when I said no food as I am trying to lose weight). It was my 50th this year and I bought myself a zip line experience. I have decided that from this point forth I will be focussing on me!

How do you soak and block? What will this do please? Asking for a friend Grin

Apart from DM being discharged from hospital, my favourite present was a reed diffuser from DH. Unfortunately I don’t like the fragrance but it was the care behind it that touched me - it says “ relax” on the box & DH said that’s something I need to do a lot more of.

igivein · 02/01/2024 15:53

A bath pillow from DS

Cocteautriplet · 02/01/2024 15:56

A lovely black M&S cashmere jumper! We are prone to moths in this house though so I’m taking every precaution to protect it.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 02/01/2024 15:57

I bought myself a puzzle book with puzzles based on the British Museum collection. I love puzzles and the BM is pretty much my favourite place in the world. Bingo!
I asked for bath oil from I'Occitane and nice chocs. I got four boxes of chocs that will last me until Easter and some Body Shop shower gel - not the same as bath oil! Still have no bath oil. But at least it's better than last year's unwanted gadget, so they're learning!

The tickets to see ‘Come from Away’. I have to wait until November (UK tour) but I am so pleased. Thanks lovely MIL, she’s a legend.

CottonHeadedNinnyMug · 02/01/2024 16:28

I recieved the Glosters Adventwhich kept me going all through December. What a joy! Also some lovely earrings and some Scamp & Dude jeans.

Lavenderandbrown · 02/01/2024 16:34

A slinky dress. I don’t have any upcoming events to wear it to but I’m pleased DH sees me this way….

MysweetAudrina · 02/01/2024 16:38

I spent 4 hours trying to unfelt it. I soaked with conditioner and pulled and tugged but it's was too far gone I'm afraid.

Ihateslugs · 02/01/2024 16:47

I received some lovely presents this year but my favourite was a voucher for Afternoon Tea at a posh country hotel from my daughter. I’ve never been gifted an experience type voucher before although my siblings often get them, possibly because I don’t have a partner to go with me! My daughter put a lot of thought into the hotel, it’s got disabled parking near the entrance and the dining area is very close by. She knows that I would not be able to access one of the elite city centre venues other than by using a very expensive taxi.

Crazydogmumma · 02/01/2024 16:49

I got a Dyson air wrap- DH had a bonus after a tough couple of financial years so treated me. I have a lot to learn but enjoying the results so far.

LadyMargaretDevereux · 02/01/2024 17:13

My daughter bought me a really cute little summer wrap, dressing gown kind of thing. It's incredibly pretty and short, not one I would choose at all, but I'm very flattered she thinks I could wear it even just pottering in my own house. So I love it!

Mischance · 02/01/2024 17:18

A very long thin hot water bottle that I can wrap round my bad back in bed - oh joy!!

SingaporeSlinky · 02/01/2024 17:36

A candle snuffer and wick cutter. Very simple but will get used all the time.

CommaChameleon7 · 02/01/2024 17:44

A book I've been after for ages. My other half trawled the city for a second hand version as we'd set a budget and he'd already bought my main gift - an Orla Kiely teapot and mugs which I'd been eyeing up for months.
