I’ve still got:

A whole Christmas cake & 6 mince pies (Got friends coming for a coffee this afternoon so hoping I can ply them with some of it).

Enough leftovers from Christmas dinner for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow (turkey, ham, veg, pigs in blankets)

SO MUCH CHEESE.

Quarter of a home made Christmas cake
Whole M&S Christmas cake (gift)
2 boxes Bendicks bittermints
2 packs of those German spiced cookies
2 mince pies
Quartet of a panetonne
Box of veg ‘sausage’ rolls
Half a bottle of port.

Will drop the whole unopened cake at the homeless project.

Chocolates, cheesecake, chocolates, trifle, chocolates, biscuits, chocolates, crisps, oh and chocolates! We were gifted quite a lot of chocolate this year.

2024betterBebetter · 28/12/2023 10:08

we have much too much left.
Meat in the freezer
Vienetta
Gateau
part-baked rolls
sliced cold meats
a few packs of sharing crisps
lots of sweets, biscuits and cakes
Christmas pudding and brandy sauce
mince pies
Yule log
Too much cheese and crackers
Fizzy drinks

Next year I’m scaling it all back and going to write proper menus and be more realistic with what we need. Though I vowed to do that this year too!

Cake, pudding, cream, cheese, crackers, cider

AvengedQuince · 28/12/2023 11:55

Oh, and red cabbage in the freezer to eat at a later date

Iamblossom · 28/12/2023 12:58

Loads of cheese
A gifted box of biscuits I shouldn't have opened
Cream
Custard
Half a Christmas cake

That's about it.

Have just binned the gravy and the bread sauce

Pigs in blankets will have those nyd with the roast
Gammon joint will slow cook that at the weekend to have cold with salad or on sandwiches
Biscuits and Chocolates
Small Christmas cake

I have nothing left over because I don't do these bizarre £500,000 shops because the shops are shut for two days.

When the shops reopen the Christmas food is usually gone. So I do need to stock up for the twelve days. My everyday food I don't need to stock up on as I can go buy more today.

Half an hour ago the last of the Brie and cranberry sauce turned into a toastie.

Last nights cauliflower cheese was enriched with some cubes of left over nut roast. Not but roast as I originally wrote!

There are some supermarket party food bits that didn’t make it out of the fridge but are now safely in the freezer.

there is a portion of trifle with my name on it.

Some nuts, half a pack of heroes and a Christmas pudding. Oh and an extra tub of double cream. That’s about it.

I do stock up a bit, not because the shops won't be open for a day, but because I really don't want to go shopping & I'm glad I haven't got to go out because the weather is filthy just now lots of flooding on the roads and trees down, it would be a miserable journey.
I don't go mad though, there's only two of us and our dog. I buy some goodies of course, but it's mostly the usual things we eat all the time.
We've got various meats sliced and frozen, some crisps, crackers, cheeses, a wee bit of Christmas cake, jam tarts, homemade tablet, shortbread and lots of veg that was bought on purpose while it was 15p a bag in tesco at Christmas in order to stock the freezer up and eat very cheaply in January.

@baubl is it even Christmas if you don't have something like that for breakfast at some point in December?

No. My usual go to breakfast over xmas is cold apple and mincemeat crumble with cream 😋 but I didn't make one this year.

We had pigs in blankets sandwiches for breakfast today. DH has eaten at least quarter of a triple chocolate panettone today and we are going to eat the last of the Boxing Day chocolate mousse house thing with whipped cream in a bit. After that we only really have frozen party food and loads of chocolate left but that’ll last anyway so no rush to eat it.
