It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

The last Dr I saw Wreck, said to me 'you have fibromyalgia you just need to put up with it' so I don't bother going, although I suspect I should.

WreckTangled · 20/02/2024 10:29

How helpful and sympathetic 🙄

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/02/2024 10:30

I left the surgery crying Wreck, and I am not sure I can take another unsympathetic Dr although others may be ok.

Spencer0220 · 20/02/2024 10:32

Hugs to you @whydoesitalwayshappentome

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 20/02/2024 11:07

Can you change surgeries why? I'm not sure I'd say mine would be any different when it comes to female health or chronic conditions as I've never had to put that to the test but they were good when I had my frozen shoulder and very sympathetic when my mum died and I went to pieces.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/02/2024 11:13

My fear is Buck that another surgery will be no different. I should try a different Dr, I have heard good things about one in particular, it is summoning up the energy and enthusiasm to try and get an appointment. I will do so at some point though.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 20/02/2024 13:24

Wreck your poor Dd having to deal with this sexist shit so early on. Bet the dr wouldn't give that advice if it was DS with the illness Angry

I'll never forget the consultant when I was in hospital (after almost dying of pancreatitis) being absolutely furious when she realised I'd been to the Gp with agonising stomach pains several times and been sent away with a diagnosis of 'being unable to cope with period pain' when it was actually gallstones.

why that's really rubbish. Def try a different dr.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/02/2024 16:15

Thanks for the hug Spencer.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/02/2024 17:35

Evening!

It was my office day today. Always a verrrrrrry long day! 😴

You can't even see a GP at my surgery, I don't think. Nurse practitioner all the way. 😩 Sorry there are so many shit ones about.

I bypassed mine last time and went straight to see a surgeon. But I knew what was wrong. Wouldn't be so lucky with something unknown.

I've not heard a good word about your surgery from anyone, Why. Gone downhill!

We had to leave a brilliant surgery when we moved and ended up with a shit one. We’ve just moved again and thankfully this one seems really good. The gp even asked to see dd to go through all her meds etc a week after we registered. Haven’t needed an urgent appt yet thankfully…

I want chocolate. All the chocolate. And bsicuits. Don’t know what’s wrong with me! Unfortunately we don’t have any.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/02/2024 19:11

Are you due your period, Wreck? It sends me food bonkers when I'm about to come on!

We need to move surgeries as we're out of catchment for our current one. Hopefully the new one will be ok.

My husband said he would pay for a private rheumatologist but not sure if that is what I need (I suspect it is) I am sure I have some other auto immune issue but the blood work didn't support that. You can get seronegative versions though.

lucysmam · 20/02/2024 20:03

Evening all! First day back after half term here & I'm knackered! 💤

Debating pinning my Eras Tour dress to where I think I want it, or adding more beady tassels to my jacket. In reality, I'll probably doom scroll til the girls have showered, then head to bed.

Wreck, I have days like that. No idea why (no periods any more to blame, either). Yesterday was allll about the savoury snacks 🤷‍♀️

WreckTangled · 20/02/2024 20:19

Not for over a week so no excuse there…

I think a decent rheumatologist sounds like a good plan why.

Spencer0220 · 21/02/2024 03:11

Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well.

Had a great day yesterday. My sister came up for a visit with her twins and our mum. They loved playing with the Guinea pigs.

Then neighbour popped in unexpectedly.

McDonald's FINALLY do a gluten free meal, so we tried that for dinner. It was so yummy. DH and I love having more options on days out. When we went out at Christmas, time was limited and we had to resort to two portions of fast food chips each so we didn't miss our event.

(Note, it's not labelled GF because of cross contamination, but if you can handle that it's a safe meal.)

Afternoon!

Very wet and windy morning first thing. However, the sun is coming out now thankfully, as we trusted the forecast and have a load of washing just finishing, so it's more pleasant (still breezy, mind).

I'm not a big fan of McDonalds, but it's good they're finally catering for the GF market.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2024 16:55

It’s been raining here all day, so windy too. Dh got rained off which is annoying as he loses money but good as he’s cleaning the bathrooms 😅

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 21/02/2024 18:14

Evening. Rained non stop until 5 here too.

Will your DH be able to make up the lost money on another day Wreck?

I like a McDs but can't have it often as it does bad things to my stomach 🙄

Virus/bug thing is ongoing here. No idea what it is but it's wiping me out. I finished work at 4, napped for an hour. Have now tidied the kitchen and made a tomato sauce and meatballs and could easily sleep again now.

WreckTangled · 21/02/2024 18:22

He already works six days a eeek meeces. Hope you feel better soon.

I love a McDonald’s hash brown. Even better as I get NHS discount.

Spencer0220 · 21/02/2024 19:28

I'm yet to try a hash brown from them. It's the other gf thing on the menu.

But I abhor the idea of a takeaway breakfast.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 22/02/2024 12:28

307 Can you believe we'll be in the 200s soon Xmas Shock

Another wet and grey day here, and I'm spending the majority of it on my own as DH is working then going out for his friends birthday. I have no complaints as I think I'm on the mend from this virus/bug but a quiet evening will be nice. Just wish the weather would pack it in as I want to get planting.

We bought a car yesterday and went for the Juke. I'm a bit scared as all our cars have always been old bangers (and I treat mine like crap if I'm honest) but we have to look after this one 😳

WreckTangled · 22/02/2024 13:06

Yay for a new car! So much nicer to drive. Rainy here too, Dh off work again.

Spencer0220 · 22/02/2024 13:51

Pouring rain here. Not good as DH has to drop a parcel off for my sister at the evri pickup.

WoogleCone · 22/02/2024 16:35

Hey everyone

Long week here, back to work tonight after a weird shift yesterday. Had the 2nd interview, felt ok, should know in a couple weeks.

My little stockings for the Christmas table arrived and im geneuinely in love with them! So excited to get the little gifts for them 🥰

I caved this week and bought an air fryer too, had a voucher and a discount so got the ninja for about £170. Anyone got any amazing recipe book recommendations please?

I felt the same way about our new car a couple months ago @NoCheesesForUsMeeces, little old one wasnt looked after so much :/ but this one feels like a tank in comparison. Hopefully its a nice smooth drive for you!
I cant help but giggle at the McDs/stomach comment too, has the same effect here - if we indulge in one its usually only an hour or 2 before needing a maccies shit 🤣🤦‍♀️🙈 my usually constipated self likes to think of it as a cleanse 😆

Anyone know if theres anywhere that might do discounts on nintendo switches during the year? Think that will be the kids xmas present, might be a prime day job!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/02/2024 18:37

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces · what colour did you go for (maybe the Egg Yolk Yellow ? - you'd never lose it in a car park.....)

Pee'd down with rain here , my drive home was half drive / half sailing .
So many wankers on the road , hit a puddle and your steering just goes . I saw so many cars lurch across the carriagways when they lost control.

One advantage of the Juke is it's a bit higher up so sailing home was ok
