How much was your Christmas supermarket shop?

The prices are absolutely crazy this year, our supermarket shop is ridiculously expensive at £347! I have another delivery booked for New Year’s Eve but will make adjustments depending on what’s left over. We are a family of 5 not hosting Christmas dinner have the in-laws over on Christmas Eve where we will be having pizza counter pizzas with sides all of which is in the shop, the turkey/pigs/sausage meat stuff is not included in this total as is from the butchers.

Should have been £160 but I had £85 in Asda rewards vouchers saved up. It's still far too expensive even with them taken off! Looking at what's in my trolley it's not really hugely different to a standard weekly shop.

Mine was around £400 in total for 5 people, which includes a specialty cheese box and organic fruit and veg but no meat or alcohol. It does include our normal weeks shopping too plus some stocking fillers. But I'm actually making my own cake, pudding, stollen, biscuits, crackers etc this year so I thought I'd save a bit but ingredients had gone up a lot, nuts and dried fruit were proportionally the most expensive things I bought I think.

£140 from Asda. That's for meals, lunches, snacks from today til next Thursday, not including Xmas cause we're at my in laws. We're hosting for Boxing Day so that was most of it tbh.

£60 at the supermarket although was £129 but I had almost £70 in Asda cash pot Xmas vouchers. Meat from the butchers will be another £40 tomorrow. That’s a leg lam, bone in rib and a gammon

About £150 for Xmas Day Breakfast and Dinner for 12 and that includes buying Tesco's finest products.

How many teens was that?

£220 in sainsburys on Christmas Day breakfast, dinner and snacks, and Boxing Day breakfast (6 adults, 1 child).

Haven’t done a proper booze run yet, but £90 on port and champagne so far.

£170 and we aren't even here 3 days! But did want a lot of cheese and wine for when I am! Recent acquisition of cats adds around £25 per week as cat food is now extortionate!

Family of 4 Inc one teen who eats like an adult. Ours was £150 from Ocado and will last us a week. We aren't having Christmas day at home though (going to mam's) and aren't doing any hosting so it's just a normal food shop with a few extras like bucks fizz and Prosecco.

We are also eating out at restaurants twice in that period too.

I dread to think how much my mam and stepdad have spent on Christmas Dinner. We are bringing a dessert and champagne. They wouldn't dream of taking money from us.

I did cook Christmas Dinner at work for 20 though and did it all for £120. This included nosecco, chocolate log and cream plus a cheeseboard. I was really impressed with that price from Tesco. I price matched with Asda and it wasn't any cheaper. I did make the pigs and blankets to save money.

I haven’t finished all the shopping yet, but my list is tallying up to about £250 for six adults and two young teens. The turkey better cook itself, bloody extortionate.

*This doesn’t include nibbles or dessert as I’m not in charge of that. Or booze. It does include a large Christmas spread with lots of leftovers factored in.

I bought most of my alcohol last month - probably spent about £100 on that. My Asda delivery that's coming on Saturday was £385, I spent £70 today in Tesco and £105 in the local butcher.

Family of four (3 adults and DS 10), going to PIL on Christmas Day and hosting for 12 on Boxing Day. I could've cried at the cost but reminded myself to be grateful we can do it - and that it's not Christmas every month!

Just under £200. Crazy amount for 4 days (we go people visiting on the 27th) for 2 adults and 2 kids +2 grandparents for Xmas day and Boxing day.

A bunch of that is booze that we'll probably only drink a third of, but I wanted to make sure all booze avenues were covered and it won't go to waste even if it takes us a couple of months we'll get through it. 💪

About £200.00, but we really shouldn’t need to do a big shop until after the New Year, maybe even the weekend of the 6th Jan. We will need a top up of fresh bread, milk and veg but that’s all.
I also have 8 batch cooked meals (each serving 3-4) in the garage freezer that I always plan ahead and do, knowing that I’ll go over my food budget for Christmas week so we’ll be having Spag bol, Chinese slow. Cooker pork, chilli, Beef stew and sausage casserole at least twice in the first fortnight of January!!

Don't know yet - I'm doing mine tomorrow! It will be a mixture of Aldi and Booths. There will be 10 of us, not just for Christmas Day, but for Christmas Eve and Boxing Day too.

A lot. The delivery is coming tomorrow, that’s c.£200. Did a Costco trip last week that was about the same and had a naked wine delivery (that I promptly drank most of and had to reorder) as well. There are 3 of us!

It was under £80 but that was just for the fresh stuff and a few other bits. We got the turkey, alcohol and a bit of non fresh stuff before. We've probably spent about £300 in total.

£240 for 5 adults today but won’t go shopping for anything until next Friday now and suspect we’ll have alcohol to last us well into the new year which we’ll save on in bills then. Don’t think next Fridays bill will be big either. Most in Aldi for £100 a small trolley in Sainsbury for £140 which speaks volumes. Very little from M&S this year bar a Pantonne and Xmas pudding. Decided the extra money just isn’t worth it. £7 for a pork pie! No. Bought cheese from local Cheese shop and Aldi.

Spent £250 on Monday - included wine, some party food, some of the Christmas meal, biscuits, cake, mince pies etc and other household stuff . DH has probably spent another £100 yesterday to include turkey, beer and a few bits of day to day stuff . Need to get a few more bits for myself (non-meat-eater) for Christmas main course and buffet.

Cheesecake is the most expensive thing to bloody make. I always think I’ll do it then realise I can buy about 3 from the nice cake shop for the same price!

Round about £200 for two of us. That includes some booze and little things to offer visitors, as well as the cheeses, mince pies and the meat (Morrisons were doing reduced leg of lamb and a beef joint) and a few treats, like a truffle and some (lumpfish) caviar, the last two from Lidl.
We're being given a home made Xmas cake, a brace of partridge and a salmon this year, too, so that helps reduce the cost.

We already have all the alcohol in the house we need, so only bought more for DF who likes specific ales, also I'm not including the butcher, (est £150 but includes 3 large meats a duck and all trimmings) our food shop was £130, and that's from Waitrose!

This is for Christmas dinner family of five, fruits and pastries breakfast, plus buffet in the evening for parents too.

We haven't bought the cheeseboard actually, which will probably be another £40-£50 tomorrow, as DH likes a poncey cheese shop.

So excluding all DFs alcohol, and including the cheeseboard, I reckon £160. If we were buying alcohol for everyone I would guess around £260.
