I’m struggling with ideas for a secret Santa present for £15-20. Recipient is a mid 30s man, no children, very intelligent, engineer. Any ideas would be gratefully received

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 04/12/2023 18:49

For the table presents for the cyclist what about tyre levers or the mini canisters that inflate a flat tire without a pump, cliff bars or gels or some funky cycling socks

Thank you I shall add these to the possible list for googling later Grin

@hby9628 thanks so much!

MarshmallowsOnToast · 04/12/2023 19:15

My bargain garage shelve racking has been despatched!

Can't wait, desperately need to organise!!

Thanks to pp 😎👍

hby9628 · 04/12/2023 19:19

@oriel2013 I'll be home in about 20 mins so I'll drop you a message. I grabbed them but if you don't want them I'll just take them back so no pressure xx

@JillyBoel22 - where is the 10%discount off M&S clothes, please? About to do a big PJ order as have the Sparks 20% off. Thanks.

Any thoughts on this one oh Christmas sages?

DH works in a lab and isn't allowed uncovered drinks for safety reasons. He drinks water out of a bottle no problem but he dislikes the 'feel' of thermal mugs and sho type bottles for hot drinks. He really misses being able to have a cuppa during the day - and ideas for a 'normal' mug with a cover that might fit the bill??

handmademitlove · 04/12/2023 19:29

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin how about Sugru? https://sugru.com/ or Fixits? https://www.fixits.com/ Both a hit with engineers I know! They are similar - mouldable glue that you can use to fix or make stuff?

The World's First Mouldable Glue

Sugru is a flexible, adhesive repair putty that sets strong by turning into a durable silicone rubber. Perfect for craft, DIY, upcycling and hacking your stuff.

Hi, my 13 year old has decided he wants a heat press to make t shirts. I gather this will be a fad when he realises it’s tricky to use. It’s pretty niche but can anyone recommend a bargain starter kit? This is the link to what he’s sent me: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZELUS-Machine-Multifunctional-Transfer-Printer/dp/B0882WP4QZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=t+shirt+printing+machine&qid=1700950600&sr=8-8

gavisconismyfriend · 04/12/2023 19:34

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz how about a mini snipping tool for you dad? Variety of prices if you Google. And a wine drip collar for DH?

I ordered one for our new house too! The garage needs storage so it's perfect.

Highly recommend Yeti mugs with magnetic lid. Not exactly a bargain price but I've had mine a year, used daily and dishwashered and still looks good as new 😁

Just as a heads up - the Body Shop have lost two of my orders and I am having a really awful time with them trying to get a refund. Several ‘investigations’ instigated, without which they can’t act, and several weeks on I still don’t have a refund.

I won’t buy from them again as a result. Obviously mistakes can happen but their customer service is genuinely awful.

I know others have had problems with Neom but by contrast they shipped a replacement the next day.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 04/12/2023 19:46

@CrispyTofu I really like the Van Gogh travel mugs in the National Gallery Shop (may stack with the 10% off newsletter sign-up too but I haven't tested that) for striking but budget-friendly gifts. You could elevate the pressie by giving a nice festive tea/coffee/favourite break drink along with them.

They have Irises and Bedroom in Arles in the sale for £12 and a few other designs (including Sunflowers and Almond Blossoms) for a couple of quid more in the main shop. Delivery is free for order over over £50.

Hipponimous · 04/12/2023 19:50

Ooh I will look into them - thanks @mummysandwich

BlackFlyChardonnay · 04/12/2023 19:58

I want to buy some naice pyjamas - like Their Nibs type style, nice box etc but I'm wondering if anyone know of something similar on a lower budget?

How about an escape room game? This Exit the game one currently reduced to £10 (or there are lots of others)

Edited as I misread your budget and added a lock picking kit, although actually that’s a good alternative gift

Willow4987 · 04/12/2023 20:15

@Igglepiggleandhisboat ive recently brought my friends (and myself) some really cute hoop huggie style earrings from Sophia jewels which were so nice!

we got 4 pairs of earrings and a cute travel case for £30

fishfingersandchipsagain · 04/12/2023 20:17

Any ideas for Hot Diamonds discount? I might be asking for a bit much (but I also don’t think their stuff is worth anything like full price anyway). I have my eye on an £80 necklace for a present.

Code MSE40 is still currently working, as is JEWELS for free postage. But nothing else will stack whereas I am sure some would previously.

I have code BIRTHDAY, which works for £15 off on a new account but won’t combine with anything other than JEWELS.

I have held out for days for a 20% basket recovery code, but not been sent anything.

I think I was spoiled by the time when MSE40 stacked with a 20% basket recovery, BIRTHDAY and an account-specific birthday code 😅

Does anyone know anything about the amazon black friday price promise they had on items with red black friday banners? I know had to be sold and dispatched by them. It's only £3 i am owed as the price dropped after i purchased. Thought it was automatic. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of them refunding on the promise before I contact them

Magik01 · 04/12/2023 20:26

Quick question regarding the Lidl 50% off, I brought two train sets about 2 weeks ago (obviously full price!). Does anyone know if they will allow me to return then and rebuy then at the 50% off price? Normally wouldn’t but your talking £30 saving, but I’m unsure how it would work on the till?

dramalamma · 04/12/2023 20:40

VeruccaSalty · 04/12/2023 18:24

Is 50% off middle aisle in Northerm Ireland lidl does anyone know, before I plunge out into the horrible night...

I haven't checked the actual store but there's nothing on the lidl NI app so I'd be very surprised if it was here - we always have different deals etc.... wish they would do it here tho! 😭
