A bit of a cliche I know, but my favourite part of Christmas is watching people open their presents and seeing them happy. Every year I have a "favourite" gift that I've bought that I'm excited about. There's a few this year but randomly I'm probably most excited about my niece's heatless curlers 😅 What about you?

I made my son's girlfriend a necklace I know she'll love. I'm very excited about that!

When DS was about 2, his granny brought a hideous snow globe back from America. It lit up, had a key to turn to play music, and showed Santa's sleigh packed with gifts. DS loved this snow globe and every year he would get it out and admire it, and when the globe was out, Christmas started for him.

When he was 8, he dropped it and smashed the glass. I have never heard him so distressed. He broke his heart for days. We looked for alternates and now have about 6 snow globes of varying sizes, but none have ever really taken the place of "the" one.

Reader, even though it's 20 years old and sold exclusively in US target stores, I found it advertised on Facebook marketplace back in September. Someone in Derbyshire had one. So this year, at the age of 19, DS is going to open "his" snow globe for Christmas. He has no idea, and neither does my DH. I can't wait!

Please can we have an update on this after Christmas? I want to know how he reacts.

My youngest DS has said he's asking Santa for a replica world
cup trophy from 2022 and I ordered it today, it should arrive in time.
I'm excited to see his face when he sees it!

A train model set which consists of a tiny zebra crossing with lights working. It’s for FILs train set scene. I was at his house last week and he was so excited showing me his trains and says he’d love a crossing that worked. Dh ordered it and we’re really excited to give him it.

These are all so lovely! Watching people open gifts is the best part of Christmas for me.

I'm looking forward to DD's gift - she's been asking all year for Heelys, it's all she wants but I've been adamant that they're ridiculous. I got some on Black Friday for her, I'm hoping that keeps the Santa magic alive a bit longer as she knows I would never buy them for her!

I’m hoping to get DD (18) tickets to see her favourite group at the o2, they go on sale on Wednesday so 🤞. If I manage it she will be over the moon.

I’m also looking forward to giving DSis and BIL vouchers to a lovely restaurant along with a homemade babysitting coupon. They have 2 toddlers so don’t get out much and I know they will really appreciate a night off!

Funnily enough I told the seller the story and she wanted to know too, I promised to send her a video of him opening it!
